So the girls and I called a taxi to take us .7 miles (4 minutes) to Full Sail Brewing. First off, the taxi was supposed to be at the hotel in about 15 minutes and it ended up being about 45 minutes. In addition, the van looks beat to hell and when we arrived at our destination, the driver told us it was $10 per person..... WTF?!?! $40 for a 4 min ride?!?! Get with the times, that is absolutely ridiculous! Can't wait until UBER and LYFT take this company out of business, seriously. We came into town for a birthday weekend... called the day before we needed picked up in Mosier and was told to call an hour before we needed a ride...we called 2 hours ahead of time for a 3:30 pick up...our driver didn't show up until 3:50--making us late to our appointment. The driver was very apologetic and we were charged $25. After our appointment we called to get a ride back. When the driver finally showed up (a different driver) we were told it would be $75! One of the friends said what the f*** why so much? Driver proceeded to tell us to get out of the car because she swore. Thank God we had a friend who was able to take us back to the house we rented. Had a blast going to the river, singing and dancing with his upscale disco dance bus. Next time we will be calling for a tour through the wineries! We were 3 adults and a sleeping child that needed a ride from Full Sail to our hotel, a half mile away. We would have walked but carrying a sleeping child uphill made it challenging so we called a taxi. Surprising that Uber or Lyft hasn't made it here but explains the behavior and cost of the taxi. The driver was blaring music that he did not even consider turning down and the charge for a 4 minute ride was $15. It was a joke. We talked about about how bad it was for days. I guess when you are the only game in town, you can act however you want and charge exorbitant fees. What a shame. read more

Wow!! I am almost 200 miles away and my oldest son got broke down in Hood River. After the Greyhound not showing up I reached out to the taxi service to help him get to where he needed to go. Shelley not only helped us, she went above and beyond the call of duty. She is the BRAND NEW owner and thank goodness! She helped my son so much. She took him somewhere to shower and then got him to his destination. That is customer service with a true passion to make a drowning company succeed! If I could give her 10 stars I would. My group had two experiences with the Hood River Taxi company. The first driver, Ricky Bobby was extremely inappropriate. He started the ride with objectifying us as a "hot group of women" and then proceeded to tell me "that if I ever cheated on my soon to be husband he would come and fuck me up." He then told me that I shouldn't have children and should freeze my eggs and sell them. He also compared us to his 4 daughters who also grew up "hot like us". He made several other uncalled for remarks that were extremely uncomfortable and made the 2.5 mile car ride so awkward. As a group of professional women we were all appalled and didn't want to use the company again. Since we had to use it again to get home we called and got Peter. He was much more professional and I would recommend that if you have to use this company to request him. read more

The taxi arrived promptly, we drove less than 2 miles and were in the car maybe 5 minutes, and he wants to charge the 4 of us $30. I said, "what? $30?" The driver says "yes, that's a great deal!" I told him that wasn't a good deal, we're paying maximum $20. So that's what he charged us. Even that was a ripoff, honestly, and I wish I had said $10. Screw this place, and if you have to take a taxi from here, definitely haggle the price down. These clowns don't even use a meter, they charge per person. We were at a bachelorette party in Hood River the last weekend. We called for a cab to go to Solstice pizza which is about a 3 minute drive. We were quoted on the phone that it would be $40 not sure why or how it was so much. Joseph picked us up at our hotel and drove us over. We asked him what the best places in town were to eat and he named a few. He received another call and blew us off and was hurrying us to get out of the cab as we just pulled up. When we called for a ride back it was a different driver and he charged us $25 to go downtown which was another 2-3 minute drive we asked to go to Naked Winery and he dropped us at the old location and when we said it was it he didn't offer to drive us to the new one so we hiked up the hill and down 7 blocks. We also asked him if there was a reason the other person charged $40 and he said well he shouldn't have and they don't have a set price but it seems they all have their own set prices. The same driver picked us up to go back to the hotel and it was another $25! So $90+ in cab rides for maybe all together 12-15 minute ride. This is the only cab in Hood River when you google but there is actually another place we couldn't use him as he was out of town. I'd try to walk to these places next time or look for a different way to get around. read more

We called for a taxi after deciding to be responsible and leave our car for the night. We asked if the meters charge on the weekend and the driver told us no. 3 of us were being taken home and it was about a 2 mi drive. He charged us $18. We were all suprised and asked again... How Much? He said $18. They had no meter running... and we had no change. so he got a $20 and we felt ripped off. He drove us 3 blocks charged us $15 and let us out and we called the brewery and are now taking another cab to it because they do have room for us!! Beware! Look at all reviews in 2019. Company was sold over a yr ago. Doesn't deserve 1 star, but only show in town and they know it. Recently was charged $50 for 12 mile ride, plus $5 pick-up fee, have no idea what this is Driver said it was 15 miles per his google. Didn't have phone at the time, but once got on line it is actually 12 miles as well as drove exact same route the next day and was underally 12 miles, so $9 ripped off, plus $5 pick-up fee? Best part is called the next day to complain and was met with ranting raving belligerent driver who drowns you out with continuous babble as well as multiple "F" bombs as well as how 'rich' people are always uptight with money. Really, have no idea what so ever what this had to do with anything. Apparently he has different google maps than the rest of us! Ironic, as during the ride he went on about how respect is earned! Quoted one price on the phone then charged us a different one when he got here, then when we told him what was quoted (even though we paid the full price and paid a tip) he refused to pick up back up at the end of the night. We had made reservations with a different tour company for transportation to concert at Maryhill Winery. We we're asked by this company to contact Hood River Taxi, because HRT had other occupants that had meet & greet tickets. Long story short, when reservations were made, obviously notes weren't taken. I rec'd text msg morning of concert saying I didn't want to get there early, because winery would be closed etc.. explained again. We had meet & greet tickets, needed to be at winery no later than 4:15. I was given the excuse of traffic, fires etc. Fire's had been going on for at least 3-weeks. Needless to say, we didn't get to meet and greet. We were out the extra money spent on meet and greet and spent $50 per person for this ride. Ride home was horrible! I'd recommend you get something in writing before you use their services. I wouldn't give them one star. read more

Called them for a Taxi on 6/30/18 explained I needed a taxi, was quoted a price and a time between 3:15 pm and 3:20 pm. I explained I had a wedding to go to, in a blind panic at 3:30 pm, I begged a neighbor to give me a ride. The cell phone I was using (not mine) the person had already left and I couldn't call the cab company back to dismiss them. Apparently they called the person I was borrowing the cell phone from and left a NASTY message, from 541-399-9954, stating you shoud have called us and told us you were leaving. IF they had been there when they stated they would, I WOULD have been there. The person I borrowed the phone from stated they called at 3:45 pm, 25 minutes after they had already quoted, after I had told them I had a wedding to attend. I felt bad, so I called them back the next to explain apologize and use their service again, The man who answered, (before I could explain) stated we were there you should have called (which I would have) and hung up. Completely unprofessional and disappointing. This business is NOT BBB accredited, and probably because their service and professionalism is lacking. read more

Worst experience ever. Driver had a "friend" the passenger seat when he arrived to give us a ride approximately 2 miles. My friend asked if this was a shared ride and the driver advised that his friend was just hanging out with him. Our wives got in the very back of the mini van and found a half empty cup of tea. They told the driver and his friend took the cup up to the front. We made it about 2 blocks when the passenger made a statement that "our women" were being rude. At this point they had not said anything to the driver or the passenger other than saying that there was a cup of tea sitting in the back. The passenger stated that we could get a ride to our requested destination if "our women" were not rude. I immediately opened the back door and told the driver to stop. We had only made it a matter of 2-3 blocks. We exited the taxi and advised that we would not be paying for their rude service and walked the remainder of the way home in the rain as that was more pleasant that Hood River Taxi was able to provide.
