We came here for our honeymoon in February and stayed in a riverfront room. While it was super cold and snowy the view was absolutely STUNNING. Waking up to the snowy mountains and the glistening river was truly priceless. This was the romantic getaway we were looking for. The room was very clean and updated. There was a keurig in the room which was a nice touch for those mornings we wanted to enjoy a cup of coffee with a view. The building was also very quiet. We were located just about 1 mile away from downtown Hood River which provided the privacy we were looking for but also conveniently located for those times we wanted to get out and about.

Absolutely loved my stay here. The online check-in and mobile app for key access to your room made the check-in process seamless. I wasn't able to arrive until later in the day, after the office was set to close. Having my key on my phone allowed me to take my time getting there and gave me one less thing to worry about. The room was thoroughly cleaned which I was extremely thankful for. The property was nice and quiet which made for uninterrupted sleep and a very peaceful stay. I was in town for a wedding and the venue was a minute down the frontage road, so this location was perfect. Parking was available right in front of my room, with additional options behind the villas. There is also has a spectacular view of the river! Check out was done at the office and the woman working the desk made the process just as quick and easy as mobile check-in. If you're planning a trip to Hood River I would absolutely recommend staying here. I will definitely be back in the future.

3 stars, but only because they upgraded us after arriving to an underwhelming room for the money. Unless you are looking to stay in the townhouse, I would suggest other accommodations in Hood River. My wife and I wanted to spend some time in the area and we planned to splurge a bit on the room, so we settled on the Columbia Cliff Villas. The property is located adjacent to the historic Columbia Gorge Hotel and has four buildings, at least two of which are divided into 3-story townhouses. We were *sold* - and I use that term purposely - a room by the reservations agent that promised a luxury experience with river views. Even the website states this property is a "luxury condominium hotel." After the verbal up-sell, we received an e-mail just 5 days before our stay stating the room was a "Grand Courtyard" king room with "quartering" river views. Here are the translations... Grand Courtyard = Parking lot with some shrubs and a freeway view Quartering River Views = Obscured views if you stand directly at your window and turn your head toward the river Additionally, the room was dark, under-lit and confining. We would later learn this was just an adjoining bedroom for the townhouse. Other than the Aveda bath products, nothing about that room was luxurious. After complaining to the office agent, we were upgraded to the adjacent townhouse, as it was vacant for our 2-day stay. I doubt this would have been possible on a weekend, so don't expect an upgrade on a weekend when the property is more full. The townhouse was very deserving of "luxury" standing. Two floors with lots of room, a full kitchen and large bathroom. Bravo to the management for making the situation right, however, it shouldn't have been that way from the start. Unless you book the townhouse - and have the money to do so - I suggest you understand exactly what you are getting at Columbia Cliff Villas before staying here. Without a river view, the single rooms are small and not worth the money.

Our view when we woke up the first morning....

What a lovely little gem of a place to spend some time! (I…read moreonly wish we'd spent more nights - now we'll have to go back!) Hood River is such a cute little place to visit and to get away from Portland - and it's so super convenient. We recently ventured out for a birthday getaway - and had a night booked in the large Terrace Room here at the B&B. The house is lovely, and neighborhood kitties were sleeping on the porch (though the innkeepers do not feed them). Bowl of Jelly Belly jelly beans in the dining room. The house is warm, cozy, and quiet. On our bed were two little hedgehogs waiting to say hello (ceramic, fyi). PLENTY of hot water to fill the big tub, and even shower off after. Great DVD selection upstairs so you can snuggle in the super-comfy bed and watch an old favorite (Indiana Jones trilogy? Yes, please!) Breakfast was a delight - the other guests were fun and we all talked about our rooms and the critters on the beds when we arrived. Our breakfast began with juice, coffee, tea - and then we plunged right in to incredibly amazing baked pears with walnuts. YUM. We had fruit, mini quiches - everything was outstanding. The Inn is nicely located on a quiet street - and we very easily walked into town and visited shops and had a nice dinner out. The house dog will give a bark at you, then stand there and get his pets, then go on his way (my dogs could never live at a B&B - they'd crawl into people's bags and eat dirty socks - I digress). I cannot think of a single thing lacking here. I will be back again for sure!

There were the three of us for 4th of July weekend and we booked the Mt. Hood room, and the River room. Both rooms are next to each other and had a patio with a picturesque view of Mount Hood. Price per night rate comes with breakfast, and let me tell you! Breakfast was AMAZING! I actually was looking forward to breakfast every morning. It wasn't just the same skimpy toast, eggs and bacon kind of breakfast, but it was a nutritious and filling breakfast menu that changes every morning! It definitely filled me up until dinner time! Sakura Ridge provided a very comfortable stay with everything that we needed to unplug and relax. There were many small details that we appreciated- a beautifully designed and very clean room, comfortable bed and sheets, heated floors, snacks and drinks in the common area (hot cocoa, tea, soda, popcorn), and guidebooks, cookbooks, and maps for guests. The breakfasts were delicious and carefully prepared by Deanna. We had fresh lamb sausage, cherry tomato and goat cheese tart, scrambled eggs with chives, and sorrel salad. The second day, we had a cream cheese omelette, ham wrapped asparagus, and fresh blueberry scone. Deanna also made a berry smoothie both mornings. John was very kind and taught my husband how to feed their lambs on the second morning. We met him at 8am and my husband got to feed 3 lambs at one time! I have to say, it was a unique and fun experience. We stayed in the Orchard Room, which was great. It was built as an addition in 2007, so it has a separate entrance and felt very private. The bathroom was well appointed with a marble walk-in shower and soaking tub. We had a private balcony overlooking the chickens and lambs on the farm, and it offered an AMAZING view of Mt. Hood. One of the best things about Sakura Ridge is that it's situated on a farm with animals (lambs and chickens) and fruits (pears, apples, peaches, plums, and berries) and vegetables. We highly recommend staying here and would love to return in the summer.

On our visit (it was my kiddo and me and our two service dogs) we ended up in a one bedroom with no view next to the parking lot. It was surprisingly quiet and with the a/c blasting it was a place to rest my weary head. Unfortunately I was not expecting the outrageous increase in prices. It had been over 30 years since I visited Hood River and what I thought or assumed would be a less expensive hotel it was over $300 during the summer months. This was for a Queen/King bed (one), shower (no tub), a smaller than usual mini fridge with no freezer and no microwave. There was dog poop outside (just one little dried turd) that the previous guest missed and I'm assuming the maid service missed. You are given one key and you want to make sure you get the after hours number listed on the front side of the front entrance door. You'll also want to make sure you get the WiFi password prior to getting settled in. It's easy to forget to ask about this with how busy the front desk can be. The employees were wonderful and went above and beyond to help me with my service dogs. Once we got settled in there was a loud knock at the door. This was unexpected and startled all of us and I was going on no sleep from a long drive. I think it was the owner of the place who wanted to let us know to get the password at the front and take note of the number at the door for after hours. She also asked about the dog beds provided. They provide the most adorable dog beds and offer an extra sheet to go over it. The floors in our room were dirty and sticky but we always were flip flops to protect our feet. I'm sure they clean and mop daily but I'm OCD and used to clean homes so I'm a stickler for super clean floors. The toilet paper roll was on the toilet plunger which bothered me since I thought that was super gross. I feel bad saying anything negative. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely lovely and made up for the room. The employees were all very friendly and went above and beyond to help out. Totally separate from the cleanliness of the room and the dried dog poop outside the door of the room.
