This was my first time trying Hoodoo and it won't be my last. The best Cajun crawfish I've ever had in Central Texas. My husband and I are from Houston and frequently travel to NOLA. We drove 45 minutes to meet them at Nameless Saloon, but they were closed! They graciously reopened to serve us one last plate and it was incredible. Our only regret is we didn't get there early enough to order more!! We're considering driving where they are later this week. Thanks! I'll consider them for my next family function. read more

GREAT crawfish - not for everyone though. I was able to try this crawfish at an event sponsored by Yelp. I was given a gracious amount of crawfish and was so excited to try it. Full disclosure this was my first time trying it. I told this to the kind woman who gave me the boat of crawfish. She was energetic and wished me the best. She did NOT warn me about amount of SPICE in this crawfish. I'm Latina, I LOVE a good spice... But this crawfish was so FREAKIN spicy. I bit into the potato and my eyes instantly teared up. I bit into the corn and my whole mouth and lips were on FIRE. I asked the people next to me if this intense heat was normal to which they casually said "yes, the corn and potatoes are typically the spiciest." Moments later I saw them take a bite of the corn and they yelled out "WOAH!!!" One turned over to me and said the kick from this corn/potatoes is most definitely not normal. All in all, the crawfish was a great size and was not as spicy as the corn and potatoes. But lorddddtt, you better have a drink next to you when you dig in! Fast, and the crawdads were exactly the right ingredients. That means you can snarf about three, then you need a gulp of beer. The shrimp here is kind of a misnomer. They were big and don't deserve that name in this context. They have a pretty good beer choice. I'll go again. read more

Just had their catering at the Lucky Rabbit in Lago Vista. What an expensive disappointment. Those bugs are tiny, very very mushy and were dead long before they hit the boil. Two pounds came with a single cob of corn that was a long way from being cooked. I know it's a hard year for crawfish, but don't ruin your reputation, charging people $27 for two pounds of mushy creek trash. Just thankful I didn't order two servings up front. read more
