I was telling my girl and friends about how much I missed this place even though I left Austin over a decade ago. I tried everything on their limited menu and there were three guarantees: it was delicious, it was going to be a short wait, and it was going to be spicy. We were just going to get some coffee at Dame and imagine my surprise when I saw the trailer. I did a double take and saw the same menu and smelled the familiar garlic smell. I told my girl we were going to eat there no matter what. I ordered the naan wrap and fried rice for us to share. Imi was an awesome host and promptly made our food. It is still delicious, still spicy, and yes, it's a short wait. It's worth it, it's very worth it. The area is a small food truck park that is dusty and outdoors. But, if you're still insisting you're old school Austin, it's a throwback to a time before food trucks were all the rage and you were outdoors with friends and eating and drinking with them. If that's a problem, go elsewhere. As for me and my vieja, we'll be coming here a lot.

The Awakening definitely lived up to its name since the deep fried battered jalapeño and the Awakening sauce are very spicy (and delicious). The patty isn't huge and is a smash burger style, but the burger was filling and bun was very fresh tasting. I even ran into a nice guy at the window for the pickup and we recognized each other from when he was a manager at Sonic. He's definitely at a much better place now with Buddha Burger! They also have a picnic table area with some shade if you choose to eat before you got the road again. And the corner isn't too loud, I'm fact they even had some music playing.

I've worked my way through pretty much the whole menu at this point, including several burgers and even the chicken sandwich's, and honestly it's all been ridiculously good. The burger patties are flavorful, juicy, and perfectly greasy in the best possible way. The Nirvana sauce takes everything to another level and has become mandatory for me anytime I go. My personal favorite is the California Classic, and I always get the double because it's just too good not to. But if curry is not your thing, my friend's Kai Zabb was very good: tangy, sweet and heat all at once, so good to really switch up bites. There is a large menu on the side of the truck. Pick what you want, tell the person at the window, they call your name when it's ready. They accept card but i don't know about cash. There is no place to sit so you're definitely taking your food to go. I got the Italian beef shawarma plate. This was a very fun take on the classic Italian beef sandwich. The beef was tender and the combinations of flavors were unique. I detected another meat in there, though? It tasted like there was also some goat mixed in with the beef which wasn't a problem for me, but might be for you. There wasn't a whole lot of it, but it definitely had that tangy, gamy flavor that marks out goat. The sandwich was delicious. They're open late which is great because I often work late and am too tired to do much else. It's been over a week now since I went and I'm still thinking about that food so we will be back.

Interestingly, Weladee Thai kitchen has three entrees Pad Thai,Tom Kha and Pad Ka Pro. Pina, the owner, said she used to have 5 menu items but all she can handle currently is 3. She is the only one working in the food truck. Pina was super friendly and personable. Now, for the Pad Thai...the box felt very heavy. It was enough Pad Thai in the box to feed 3 hungry people. The noodles were fresh, soft and flavored well. There were big chunks of chicken in the Pad Thai and it was extra tender. The meal was at the perfect spice level.
