We stopped into Zaftig Brewing shortly after arriving for a weekend getaway and had a great experience. The brewery has a large parking lot, which made it easy to stop in and relax after traveling. We ordered food from the El Catrin food truck parked outside, and it was absolutely amazing--we'll definitely be writing a separate review for them! The bartender was friendly and welcoming, and even gave us a booklet for the local ale trail, which was a nice touch. We tried a flight of five beers and sampled a few others as well. There was a good variety to choose from, and everything we tried was enjoyable. One of our favorite things was that the brewery is dog-friendly. They also have outdoor seating, which made for a great atmosphere to enjoy the beer and the nice weather. We'd definitely stop back the next time we're in the area. read more

A nice looking taproom with ample space, TVs, board games and food trucks at your disposal. I appreciated being told that flights of 3, 4, or 5 beers were available because I didn't see that listed anywhere. I wanted to try several beers but was initially hesitant due to the price of their individual 5oz pours. The flight discounted those amounts. For the three beers that I landed on, they were all good. It's hard to choose a favorite, but the cinnamon-tinged Emotional Knapsack barely gets the nod over the Nuts for You and Heavy Hearted Amber. They seem to have a long-term partnership with Comida El Catrín food truck in the evenings, and that's a great decision because they're great in every way. read more

Came for a food truck but decided to have a beer while I waited. sat at the bar and the bartender was very helpful and let me try a few things and gave suggestions. I got a peanut butter stout which was delicious, and then he suggested a cinnamon stout mixed in with the peanut butter and that was stellar. So he changed my beer and I was very pleased. Stopped here last night for the El Catrin Taco food truck. Went inside to eat and grabbed a on site brewed beer. I decided on the Super Juicy Lucy. This beer was a super fresh orange infused west coast draft. It was refreshing with my quesadilla from El Catrin Taco truck. The staff eas extremely friendly and let us sample before we ordered. Huge bonus points for having a solid NA menu, especially one that includes my husband's favorite (Best Day Electro-Lime) and a gluten free option for me (A Mockery Mocktail). I live close by and have never been before. I stopped by for the first time the other day on a Monday and tried their Caramel Apple Cider vodka drink. It was SO GOOD! I sat and the bar and talked to the bartender for awhile and she was very nice. The people in there were also very friendly and playing DnD. The brewery itself sits right behind the table area and you can see right into it. The vibes of the place is just super chill and nice. You should come in for a drink sometime! read more

Great CBus craft brewery. They have a large selection of house made beers. In fact all the beers they offer are. They also have a full bar with a nice selection of whiskey and a small wine list. There is lots of seating inside along with several picnic tables outside. They have several TVs to watch games. Service here has always been acceptable and pleasant. Unfortunately someone had a fussy baby. (I will never understand why people bring babies to a brewery.) They do not offer food, but will have a food truck occasionally. Stopped on a whim at this brewery over near the big Budweiser building. We were welcomed immediately. I can see why this is a favorite destination of one of our friend's who is a regular there. The place was about half full and had a good vibe. Zaftig has a decent sized bar and lots of table seating. Very dog friendly. One was even sitting at the edge of the bar. They dont have a kitchen but do have food trucks. We grabbed our 6 pack of lager and went home only due to time constraints. Place is amazing! We held an engagement party there and used the Taproom. This space was large enough for 30-40 people. We had tables set up for appetizers we provided. There was plenty of room for everyone to walk around and talk and plenty of setting. People could order drinks and the staff was excellent. Had excellent recommendations for everyone on craft beers. They have a full bar and small wine list. They have a small patio to sit in outside. Would highly recommend this place for any type of gathering. read more

Visited Zaftig for a beer tasting and was super impressed! The highlight of the day was the Ol' Rugger Coconut Almond variation. This beer had great, full bodied taste, almost creamy mouthfeel and smooth finish - SO GOOD. The staff was super knowledgeable and friendly which made the experience that much better. The space is also large with plenty of outdoor seating and a food truck. I'd definitely recommend making the trip to try these beers if you're close. I prefer their original beer lineup of high gravity, rich flavor beers, but they've expanded their offerings with some lighter and lower ABV beers - which still taste good. Trivia nights, live music nights, happy hour, and dog friendly. Food is via food trucks (usually pretty good ones) or doordash something to yourself or stop and get a pizza beforehand. My boyfriend and I were doing a quick swing through Columbus and knew we wanted to hit a brewery or two. I did some research and we decided to hit up Zaftig. I'm glad we did. The actual decor isn't much, although I do love the lights. It's simple, just a bar and some tables. They did have a food truck when we were there, but we didn't get food. We arrived a few minutes after opening and there was already a crowd. There were a lot of regulars and it was apparent a lot of those that work in the industrial park come when they get off work. We grabbed some seats at the bar. This is our kind of brewery, at least when we were there. We are definitely dark beer drinkers and too often have breweries with only one or two options because everything else is IPAs. They did have some bottles available to go and we picked up some. There was only a few options available though. We split a flight. The flight included Nuttin 2it (pecan brown nitro), A-crop Blacklight (stout), Nuts for You (peanut butter stout), Caramel Raspberry stout (made with Ghiradelli), and the bourbon barrel aged amber. All of the beers were good. My personal favorite was the caramel raspberry stout. Service was good, the crowd was friendly. Good beer in a chill environment. My friends and I came on a Saturday evening and were the youngest people there. I saw mostly middle age folks, some of whom brought their kids in here. No one gets crazy. It's super chill and it's interesting that its family friendly. You can play board games and bring food in here. You can also take advantage of the food trucks if you get hungry. La comida Catrin was there that evening and was super delicious. I'd recommend it! I'm not a huge beer drinker these days but my friend ordered the A-Crop Coconut which was very nice! You could taste the coconut! I decided to get the other flavor, A-Crop Vanilla. Didn't love it as much as the coconut but it was light and had a good taste. I wasn't loving the other beers but again, I'm not a beer aficionado. Overall, great place! It's not huge but it's a long room that can get filled quickly. We arrived past 7 and we stood around a bit until a table opened for us to sit at. The girl at the bar was cheery and personable. This was our first trip to zaftig. I've been drinking zaftig at either beer festivals or purchasing at wine and brew on sunsbury for years. Their beer is legit and as an aficionado of dark beers .... they get . I took my entire family in today. We kept hearing this is a fun low key place... they were spot on. 1) very family friendly. I asked a question on Yelp and the owner responded, yes it is. I was doubtful...after today undoubtedly is. I never had an employee or patron look at my kids with frustration or disdain. 2) it's dog friendly as well. There were three different dogs of various breeds and ages there. Their owners were very open to my kiddos petting them. 3) they have dozens....dozens of games. I played cards with my 6 and 3 year old for an hour. Most importantly for me personally, I really enjoyed their beers. I had a 5 sample flight and their blacklight, bambalam, and bourbon barrel aged bambalam are great. To be frank, when they started, I wasn't crazy about their beers. But they have focused and improved their beers over the years. Yes, it's still strong. Yeah, no food (but often food trucks). Their bartenders know their beer and can help guide you if you are uncertain. The kind of bartenders help you need when you're dealing with high ABV beers. Well, what's not to like? I have been here just twice and I admit, the location isn't as convenient as I would like, but if it was, I'd be here regularly! Tucked away in an industrial area in northern Columbus, just south of 270, this is a hidden gem you will want to get to if you're a craft beer fan. They have some great brews on tap and the staff is nice too. I love the tap room and I appreciate that they put on regular events to bring different crowds in. Stopped in to get my Ale Trail stamp and as a bonus Rescued Ohio was hosting an event! Zaftig was nice enough to donate $2 from every beer purchase to the rescue. Zaftig is dog friendly inside and out! They have a rotation of food trucks, tonight it was a taco, burrito, quesadilla truck. I didn't get to try it, but it smelled amazing! Zaftig doesn't have a huge beer list, but they do have a good variety. I went with the Alina Grapefruit and it was pretty tasty. Somebody should address this weird stench in the indoors eating area or at the bar. The selection is solid although the taste texture and freshness i would rate 3.5/5. Juicy lucy is a good one in my opinion! They can do better in those above departments. The staff is friendly and suggestive what should be ordered, so kudos to everyone working here. You get complimentary pretzel chips with your beverages but there is no kitchen to order food. The beer is very good, most are a little different so couldn't find a super normal Hefeweizen or Wit, I didn't really find one I liked to the point I wanted a pint, which is rare for me. My husband really liked the beer, and he likes beers of all styles. To him, BamBaLam Stout and Nuts for You were the best and the Worthington Wit with Jalapeño was ok. Full bodies sales galore! Zaftig Brew Pub, this place has one of the widest selections of self-brewed craft beers in Columbus, i think. We tried 5 custom flights with Cart Path Kolsch, Hazy Miss Daisy, Nitro A-Crop Blacklight, Nuts for you and Rugger Coffee. The Hazy Miss Daisy seems to be their one of signature IPA, not too bitter, it's quite light. I preferred the Nuts for you which is Peanut butter stout. It's rich, nutty, dark stout. I really recommend this. Also, suggest to try Nitro option. We tried A-crop blacklight for nitro but it was light and smooth, I liked it. They also offer 'Barrel Aged Beers', you should try those, too. It is more fragrant like bourbon and bitter than usual beers, but it was good after few sips to get used to the strong flavors. The only thing to be aware is that, they don't serve any food. That's why i took one star off. But i heard that there's regularly a food truck coming during warm weather. Overall, worth the drive off the beaten path to Worthington for craft brew enthusiasts and regular beer drinkers alike. A must stop for the ale trail! P.S. Zaftig is yet another great brewery in Columbus. It could be in the weirdest location. This isn't a trendy area for sure. It's a great facility though and has a nice seating area. The beers seem to be stronger. A weird thing about this place is where you find the brewery. For one thing it's not in a trendy neighborhood teeming with hipsters. This is located among the warehouses along Huntley Avenue in Worthington. It has a good size of a tap list. The beers are mostly high alcohol percentage. Among the choices is the A Crop Blacklight. It's a 9% stout. Amazingly it's not even the strongest beer. There's several that are 10%, including the Heavy Hitter. I like most of the selection at Zaftig. It's not the nicest area but the beer makes it fun. The Anheiser Busch brewery is literally right there but after this you'll be like whatever. read more

Zaftig is an awesome brewery that is unlike any other in Columbus. All the beers (literally all of their beers) are super high ABV. The lowest alcohol content was 7% when I last went. I really enjoy their amber ale and my fiancé is madly in love with their nitro stout. If you are an IPA fan I have friends who rave over "Juicy Lucy". Zaftig has a nice bar area that's connected to a long table and bench style hang out and gaming area. They have darts, Jenga, cards, and lots of board games and bar games like cards against humanity. Want good beer and to try a new place? Hands down go to zaftig! It's right next to the giant Budweiser plant near Polaris. Update: I continue to come here often and they had a limited release of the best beer I've ever had. I am a beer aficionado and connoisseur so calling something my favorite beer of all time is a big deal! The barrel aged too cans was AMAZING! I am so so sad it's gone but the barrel aged heavy hearted amber ale is also perfect! We decided to take a quick beercation for the Zaftig Bourbon Stout (ZBS) Taproom Release. What a fun brewery. The taproom opened at noon for the event. And it was packed. ZBS is their signature beer. Tapped after one year of aging. It was very good. But we liked the Nuttn' 2it Pecan Brown Ale even more. For lunch they have gyros from a food truck Greek Village on the Go. The pita was incredibly fresh. The sandwich very good. And this place is dog friendly. I wish it wasn't a 2.5 hr drive. Lots of fun. read more
