I was surprisingly underwhelmed :( based off of their 4.5 star review I was expecting much more. I went in on a Sunday at around 6:30 it was dead... When I say dead in talking myself and my boyfriend were the ONLY ones in there. We walked in and after a couple min were sitting in a round booth, directly behind the owner/employee that was working. The booth was clean but not very comfortable. The employee brought us a menu and we decided to get the "kings flavor" we splurged A bit since I used the Yelp voucher (spend $12 and get $15 voucher). The Kings flavor was $20. The flavor started off great but quickly died out and we were left without tongs to turn our coals and an employee too wrapped up in the Warriors game to come over and check on us :/ We finally went and asked him and he came right over. He suggested we blow out the smoke and it will help it be less harsh. *awesome tip by the way* :) The whole time we were there the basketball game was playing on the TV and there was no music..., not the end of the world, but then I used the restroom, probably one of the most disgusting bathrooms I've ever been in. That is disappointing to see in any business. smh take care of your place. When the check came I explained I had a yelp voucher and showed him he said I couldn't use it because we had a mixed flavor of tobacco, he insisted this was the case, but said I can use it next time. I double checked my yelp voucher and no where did it say that as a specification, so I showed him and he agreed to refund me the voucher money and only charge me the difference. Would I come back... Probably not and to be honest I probably wouldn't suggest this place to friends either, there's just better hookah lounges in San Jose I'd rather just go there. read more

What really sold me was that they serve fumari shisha and coconut coals. The other lounges use wood coals which makes the shisha burn faster. These coals are better for you and the tabacco. The owner of this lounge is a really nice and friendly guy and is very willing to come over and change the coals if you ask. They play tons of different music and I have actually discovered a lot of new music by just sitting back and hitting up Shazam. The shisha is amaaazing. I recommend asking for a mix of blackberry and passion fruit! It's not one of the house mixes but its amazing! Even though my friends and I cant come too often the owner remembers us and out favorite seat as well as the custom mix we love. He notices when we're quieter than usual and will even check up on us to see if we're okay. Needless to say I love this lounge. The couches are super comfy and it's not super packed all the time. I came here a few days ago on a Friday night. For me, coming from SoCal and experiencing the hookah bars they have along with having my own hookah set and setting it up myself, I have high expectations. The environment and setup are pretty comfortable and gives you a true vibe of a hookah bar with Arabic music and top 40 songs intertwining with your hookah experience. The good: They have quite a few flavors to choose from. Most of the shisha choices are from well known and well tested brands like Fumari and Starbuzz. They use the better tolerated coconut coals that don't leave that bitter and nasty aftertaste like the quicklite coals. It's pretty cheap too! If you purchase a yelp coupon, it'll probably make it THE cheapest out there. The bad: If anything they're a little slow on refreshing the coals without prompting. I probably had to wave them down two to three times when they were chilling at their own table to get them to help me get some new coals which kinda dulled my experience there. The meh: I WISH they gave you your own tongs so you can move the coals around yourself and do the heat management so you're not stuck waiting for their help. VERDICT: I would come here again to chill and lax with my friends. I hope the next time I come they'll be a bit more vigilant on coal management. read more

This hookah is the best in the bay! No loud obnoxious music pumping so you can't hear yourself think, this place has comfy couches settled around, not too close to each other either. They've got a big screen TV that was tuned to the sci fi channel when I was there, so you could chat and/or watch a movie while smoking. The hookah itself is awesome. We got the dragon mix with a pineapple head (no more watermelon heads here, which is what we came for). Their mixes can be pricey (ours is $30) but worth it for the flavors and the night out. MARCH 2021 COVID REVIEW Absolutely amazing spot. First of all it's currently open inside and outside. They have drinks in the fridge and I think they have some tea as well. Best new lounge, or should i say best lounge in san jose. Owner is a guy named Amir whom ive known for a few years now and he is super friendly. Whether you are a first time hookah smoker or someone like me who smokes 2-3 bowls a day (and has been to every lounge from san jose to san francisco), he is friendly and will not hesistate to make suggestions. He also always checks in to see how you are doing, if you need drinks, if your bowl still tastes alright. best customer service of any lounge here in the bay area. they only use the best (fumari shisha and coco nara coconut coals). Price is also pretty on par with most lounges and cheaper than most of the crap lounges downtown (with an exception of hookah beats). My favorite part of this lounge is the seating arrangements. very comfortable couches, and the fact that the music is not overbearingly loud. you can actually have a conversation with the person next to you without screaming. My 2nd favorite part of this lounge is the crowd. When i go to lounges downtown or in SF, a lot of the time i feel like im in the room with all the 18-20 year old hoochies and gangster wannabes who were underage and couldnt get into the club, none of that here. a HUGE PLUS. read more

What can I say, I have been to Hookah Castle quite a few times now and the service is top notch, it's a great environment, and the staff is fantastic. I don't really know where to start, so we'll start from the top. Amir. Amir is a fantastic, fantastic individual. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and sociable. I have been to quite a few places (albeit, not hookah establishments) where the service left much to be desired. This obviously trickles down to his employee Jose. Jose is equally as knowledgeable, friendly, and sociable. I bought a hose from Amir this evening and he went through the trouble of cleaning it, making sure that it was in good condition, and that I was satisfied with it. Without a doubt, this is the type of service that a lot of business need to learn how to do. Simple customer service things go a long way in today's society. I couldn't even begin to imagine going anywhere else with my group of friends when we just want to relax and unwind from a long day of work. They don't hassle you to purchase refills, they come changeout or ash the coals frequently and they are always welcoming if you just want to chat or learn about what they do. yay for discovery of a new cheap hookah lounge near my house!!! the ambiance here is super laidback. people bring their laptops here and just chill and talk. my friend said they give you free tea, but no evidence of that except some sugar packets and stuff on the front table. and i guess the owner really tries to accomodate with the customers because when we sat down, he said "i'll change the tv channel right away." i had no idea what he meant because whatever on tv was fine... BUT found a minute later it was changing the channel to KOREAN MUSIC VIDEOS LOLOLLL hella funny. we werent even korean... BUT we were the only asians in the entire place. But later, they played other music videos that were from the top 40s so it was entertaining for the rest of the group. We got the sex on the beach and white grape shisha flavor. It came out pretty fast. The hookah is bigger than the one in SJ and they set it on the table. The owner was really nice and when he saw we got a bigger group, he recommended us to sit at a bigger table. They have comfortable couches. not good for your back LOL but nice to sink into and relax. You can sit here for as long as you want. the shisha burns pretty slowly, so i'm glad. They dont really ask if you want to change the coals that often though... the place is pretty dim and smokey and the bathroom is okay. read more
