We actually met up with another friend who got here first. We easily found a spot outside for our party of 4. I don't recall what cigar I picked. I believe I either let my friend decide or I just randomly let myself gravitate towards one. I do have a pic of the one above, so I'm guessing that is what I ended up smoking. I wanted something short and this fit the bill. We actually sat around a fire pit of sorts. We did try to get it lit, but it proved a little difficult. This was my go to cigar place pre COVID. Since then, they did not have a great selection in the humidor and noticed a significant drop in customers. Fast forward to today... I believe this was their first event of the year under new ownership. Was able to reconnect with Bob one of the three owners! Was even able to connect with Mikey, a regular! Humidor is now well stocked with reasonable prices (for CA). The refresh is really nice as well. Hope to be back soon and more often. I do miss Bill and Chris and hope to make it out to Wild Bill's someday. read more

When I first came to West Coast Cigars, I have to say I was a little dubious. Though it's located at the edge of the Willow Glen area of San Jose, the location is in a little industrial pocket of Willow Glen, next to a number of auto shops. Let's just say, one wouldn't expect to find a cigar lounge in that area. But I've been going here regularly for the last few months, and I actually love the fact that it's off the beaten path. I've gotten to know both owners - Kyle and Bob - and they're both awesome! All their staff is friendly and super-knowledgeable and they all take time to help folks find a good smoke, asking great questions about what someone's preferences are and making suggestions based on the answers they've been given. Shane in particular has helped me discover some great sticks! He has come to know that I like to explore blends that are off most people's radars. The atmosphere in the lounge is great. There are lots of regulars that frequent the place and most of them are really friendly and inviting. I've been to many other lounges where the regulars keep to themselves. Not so with this place. The way it's laid out compels people to converse, though the owners and staff, will just strike up conversations. As far as the selection goes, they have a decent selection. Even though the shop has been around a long time, when Kyle and Bob bought it, they were relegated back to new shop status, so it has taken some time to build up their stock. But what they've been able to get in has been right in my wheelhouse! I highly recommend this place! Come in, grab a stick and sit awhile. You won't be disappointed! read more

Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2019 West Coast Cigars is located in the Willow Glen area of San Jose. It's definitely on the off beaten path near some automotive body shops. Called last weekend and asked if they sold gift cards. They told me they sold gift cards- so we made our way to West Coast Cigars. From the outside it looks like an old house. There is parking in the back of the home and the front yard has tables and chairs. I went in by myself to pick up the gift card. When you enter there are two sitting rooms, one on your left and another on your right. Walking towards the back they have a cash register area and large glass displays of cigars and anything you might need for your cigar smoking needs. This place definitely has character. If you want a smoke and a drink- this looks like a good spot. Customer service on the phone and in person was sincerely friendly from start to finish. I was able to purchase $100 gift card for my uncle's birthday. My uncle, cousins and friends have frequented this place. I've never been here before because I'm allergic to smoke. They have NFC - so you may use Apple Pay, Google Wallet or Samsung Pay. This is a different kind of lounge. It was in a "house" near a bunch of auto shops and behind a fence. I was not sure about it when I drove up, but decided to enter, which was tough because there doesn't seem to be a marked entrance. There was an outdoor space with a fire pit and tables, and I entered the lounge, purchased a stick, and looked for a place to sit. Unfortunately, the lounge was full, so the employee told me I could go sit in the member's lounge, which is in another building 10-20 feet away with a keypad to get in. The lounge was cool, with nice people hanging out in there watching Monday Night Football. They also started a poker game, which they invited me to, but I wasn't able to stick around long enough to participate. I left with a completely different opinion of West Coast Cigars than when I drove up... I love this place! read more

I enjoy cigars, maybe too much. I travel quite a bit and enjoy visiting cigar bars. When I am going to smoke a 20.00 cigar in a bar or buy some for a special occasion selection and atmosphere are key. This place had neither. Small choices, with most boxes half or more empty with no boxes to refill. It was a Saturday barley found a couple Series V Olivas to make it worth my time. Customer service was ok and the usuals around a backyard style fire pit seemed to be having a good time. I left and smoked elsewhere. read more

First off this establishment is in a neighborhood. Do not worry if you feel out of place. My first time here, I was a little nervous and not sure what to expect. I came to order about ten cigars to surprise my fiancé's bachelor party. The person that helped me was super friendly and nice. He was very helpful in picking cigars in the same price range and style while providing variety for the group. I was very appreciative of his help. Every time I go to San Jose I drop in with West Coast cigars and they have a incredible selection of cigars. They also have relaxing areas to smoke the cigars and amazing stuff. The people who go there to smoke cigars are kind welcoming and warm. I enjoyed their caveman Back-house area has comfortable chairs a huge flat screen TV the heater when it's nice and cold outside. I feel so safe inside their back area because they had it with a keypad to get it. I was invited to come here today by a friend of mine to have a smoke. I must say I'm not a cigar connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination.. I have been to a couple smoke shops in the area and walked out. This is not one of those places!! They have a very nice fenced off yard where you can sit in the shade and talk to people outside. I'm told they also serve food like hamburgers and hot dogs as well as drinks. As I walked in to the the establishment, my first reaction was wow, I could get comfortable here! They have a tv playing sports with plenty of seating. As you walk a little further in you see a nice selection of lighters and pipes. Theres a room on right that is (I think) a walk in humidor And when I say room I mean big. They must have at least 1000 different kinds of cigars all in boxes. I got to say I can get into coming here a lot. If you smoke pipes or cigars or just want to try one in a fantastic atmosphere, this is the place. read more

Holy smokes! This place is trippin. But in a fun, relaxed way. Located in a residential/industrial neighborhood, you'd never expect someone would set up shop inside somebody's house. Enjoy smoking your cigar of choice in their lounge (aka: living room), replete with big screen TV and leather couches, or you can take it outside in their backyard and park your butt (get it? cigar butt! LOL) on one of their lounge chairs. The firepit will keep you warm on those chilly nights. My very first SBC event was a BBQ here one Friday night. Even Dennis and Bobby couldn't believe that I actually drove down to San Jo to hang out. This place let's you use their facilities for free, BBQ grill and all. Stay as long as you want, just clean up after yourself. West Coast Cigars boasts of South Bay's largest walk-in Humidor -- yes it's feels like a greenhouse in there -- but anything to keep the cigs happy. Walk inside and take a peek at premium cigars with prices ranging from affordable to dig deep in your pockets. To a clueless, non-smoker like me, what is the difference between a $8 and $30 cigar? uh, $22? The answer doesn't even matter right now. Wow, I can't believe I haven't written a review about WCC yet!!! It's fitting that I write it now, hours away from what will no doubt be another another fun filled evening here with friends :) WCC is my go-to place for cigars when I run low. Excellent selection, very reasonable prices, unhurried atmosphere and some of the best staff ever. Everybody is so helpful, whether it is helping you select a suitable smoke for the occasion, whether it's helping you prepare and light the cigar or whether it's just chatting with you. I love the camaraderie and the almost familial atmosphere here. As mentioned in several other reviews, WCC is located in an old house - with backyard, shed and a separate game room/cigar lounge. I've been going here when the lounge was just a dilapidated game room - it has since been renovated into an ultra modern and luxurious lounge called the "Rocky Patel Lounge." I was there when they opened the lounge and got to meet Rocky himself and take some pictures with the man :) Due to some quirk in the law, it's possible to drink at WCC and it's a very communal atmosphere. People bring and leave drinks here. People take drinks freely from the fridge and kitchen - same goes for food. There's always stuff left behind that you're welcome to partake but do leave something behind on other occasions to keep the generosity and spirit going :) They have a large grill, fire pit and several dozen chairs. Spring and summer evenings are always crowded, especially on weekends. We grill here frequently and I've met quite a few interesting folks from all walks of life here at WCC. Inside, there are more seating areas (in addition to the Lounge) with some TVs and some cushy sofas/chairs. Bathroom is clean and well maintained. ~ 5 stars overall - a warm, wonderful, friendly and welcoming place. A place to hang out with with a group of great friends and just enjoy a quiet evening with food, drinks, cigars and entertainment. The walk in humidor stocked many of the good brands, with great prices. Many of the Cigar Afficionado top 25 will be here, if you know what you are looking for. If you're in the mood to lounge around, they have a big screen TV with sports, or if you're the outdoors type, grab one of the patio tables outside...but you'll have to put up with the roar of jets overhead and the traffic wizzing by. It is 8 AM and the morning after my first WCC experience. The stars never aligned and I had not been able to make the SBC events prior to last night. WCC is like going to that "one friend's pad" in college which was ridiculously loungy and pimped out. Here there is a fire pit, lounge chairs in front of a huge television and people BBQing at the various spots out back... but instead of smoking other stuff like back in college.. there are a ton of different types of cigars. The last time I smoked a cigar was when I was in Cuba about five years ago and other than that... I am not an aficionado. With a fellow SBCer and Mikey (guy working the counter) I was able to find a reasonably priced cigar for a friend. Mikey was super knowledgeable, patient and I felt confident with my purchase. Rolled Over To WCC For The SBC UYE Backyard Party Tonight. As I was parking the Whip I heard welcoming Greeting of Hi from the SBC crew on the other side of the Fence LOL. The SBC crew are a very Friendly and Cordial group of Yelpers. I walked into the Backyard and I'm greeted by the Lovely Dean Vicki and roll over to the Cook area . Tetsu is working his magical BBQ powers over 3 grills. Tons of meat is cooking in front of him including some that has been Marinating for over 40 hours. I started in on some Chicken just Yummy actually everything Tetsu was cooking was Tender and Flavorful. Then Larry had baked up some of the Lightest Airiest Pecan Pies I have ever had the Pleasure to eat .Simply Delish. Then John Michael was firing up the Fire Pit and paying Homage to the Fire Gods. There was a huge Liquor Table but I couldn't Partake unfortunately since I was on duty.. My Guardian Angel Bong was there cutting Meat .What a beautiful night Warm ,Star filled sky, Great people and Great food a Win Win situation. read more

This is the spot! This is probably one of the only cigar lounges that I can totally feel like I'm at home; literally! This house has two separate living rooms for watching movies and the other for quiet study time or more intimacy. Then you have the front yard which hold tables for large groups. There is an outdoor kitchen with a bbq pit that is used every now and then from the people that work here. This place is ideal for men of all types. It's a perfect place to meet up for drinks and a fine cigar. They carry tons of different brands from low shelf to top shelf. Real brands here, no fakes. Their humidor is a walk-in room that could fit at leasta 5 people comfortably! Service here is also great. Their full of knowledge and will help with the right cigar to fit your needs. I had a great time smoking my Oliva V Serie while watching 007 in their comfy patton leather chair and just walking around the house. There is a backhouse where men come to play poker so this is also a huge plus! Ever since the Santana Row cigar lounge closed, this has been the place for their regulars. This place is the one!! This might be my favorite NorCal set up for a cigar lounge - old school building, big grassy outdoor area, great selection and chill folks. This place is a staple amongst South Bay cigar lovers, and I dare say even among Bay Area's. Think affordable selection, vetted inventory, and down-to-earth folks. I really cannot think of a better place to come and enjoy my cigars. Nada. The establishment has the main store with a standard lounge, a garden for smoking outdoor, and a separate in-law unit where folks usually partake in poker tournaments. Anyway, make yourself at home, and do not hesitate to ask the shopkeeper to let you start a fire outside. The pit is where a lot of late night friendships are fostered. Parking sometimes may be a hassle. Though they have a parking lot, the space can fill up really fast, even during weekday nights. Be careful as a lot of places around are private property, and you can get a ticket for there. Also, the place carries a house blend that I recommend for smokers looking for value. read more

I have been buying cigars here for years, even passing out their business cards to friends who might be looking for a place with a good selection. Decided to stop by tonight to pick up a few Padron anniversary series cigars. I asked the sales person where I could find the specific ones I was looking for and he had a bad attitude and poor customer service so I walked out without buying anything and went down the street to another cigar shop where I was treated with respect.
