I enjoyed how each dish was prepared and this was my favorite spot of those I visited while in Copenhagen.

The staff was friendly and attentive. We got to try the all the oysters and many appertizers, along with one dessert. Everything was thoughtfully crafted with deep knowledge for ingredients, appreciation for flavors, and an eye for creativity. The mussels dish stood out as the most memorable experience. Honestly, the entire experience here was one of the greatest highlights of our trip. We look forward to coming back someday!

They are all wrong. I ordered the oysters, mussels, bread and seaweed butter, tomato salad, and languste. In order, the oysters were pretty good. They were one of two things I enjoyed. However, my stomach didn't feel very good after eating them. The mussels were below average. I've had much better, there just wasn't much flavor to them and the sauce they were in tasted fairly average. The bread and seaweed butter were very good--the bread specifically. The seaweed butter just tasted like butter. The tomato salad was average, it was a little too creamy for my liking. The languste was horrible. I was assured it would taste similar to lobster, it in fact did not. It had a rather funny taste to it, that I wouldn't describe as good. It was meant for two and neither of us found it appealing. It was 1800 DKK, about $275, we shouldn't have ordered it. The establishment is extremely busy, they seem understaffed. Their staff are running this way and that way and it's difficult to get someone's attention. Ambiance is alright. I think if it was a little less busy then it would be nice but the sheer volume of people subtracts from the vibe. Overall do not recommend and I wouldn't come back. Very overrated.

Always on the search for some authentic food native to the culture, you can certainly find it here. But you can also find lots of other stuff, too like tacos with fresh tortillas and mochi ice cream! FOOD: Some of it was great! Some of it okay. The smorebord was good but not the best I've had. Still I had the Danish meatball one and the smoked salmon one - both good but not great. Loved the fried fish and the pork belly! Supremely awesome. The mochi ice cream was a treat and the French meringue were simply delicious. I bit undercooked for me, but I can't turn down a good meringue. SERVICE: Overall, good. Nice portions. Great plating. And the people were all very nice. More like quick service but that's what you want from a place like this so you can experience different places. COST: Worth it. Nothing was overblown. All were a tad bit on the higher side, but not more than you would epxect. Definitely a fun place to go and check out.

WHAT A LITTLE GEM! 4.6…read more As we strolled around the area of our hotel, we came across this lovely neighborhood market. Flower stands with freshly cut flowers and an abundance of vegetable crates colored the exterior of the building's grounds. The enclosed building is made from beautiful glass and metal, with the inside feeling open and airy, making it feel a bit like a greenhouse with its natural lighting. We found an assortment of shops offering meats, condiments, pastries, baked goods, coffee, fresh seafood, pastas, prepared salads, sushi, lunch spots, cured meats, nuts, beer, wine, fresh herbs, sandwiches, caviar, ice cream, cheeses, housewares and gift items; quite the assortment here! The only thing that was difficult to find were non-food gifts for our friends that were actually made in Denmark. Most were manufactured overseas. We stopped and had a wonderful lunch at the very popular Hallernes Smørrebrød, seated at their bar. This market is definitely worth a visit.

The restaurant's design is definitely minimalist with simple blank walls and a comfortable mix of fake and real plants. There was no air conditioning but they found a fan to keep us comfortable- we were amazed that more folks in the full restaurant weren't sweating the way we were. Perhaps the locals are more used to the summer heat with no AC than we were. We had the 3-course prefixe meal with my my wife and daughter on the standard menu while I was on the vegetarian track. The website says that Host is the Danish word for harvest, and that their focus is "on the Scandinavian kitchen with lots of surprises." The staff used the word "surprises" explicitly, using it to describe the amuse-bouches and palette-cleansing bites served between the advertised courses. We started with a flight of croquettes with cheese and I think my wife and daughter had something like a smoked fish hash of some sort while by I had a delightful bite of salad on a molded sweet cookie tart shell. The baby bread loaves with a special butter were lovely - how do you innovate butter? Great job. My first veggie entree was fried carrots with horseradish, which was grand. Next I had a barley risotto with amazing brown beech mushrooms on top. Awesome. There was a spot of potato soup in there somewhere and the best bite of the meal was another of the surprises - a pre-dessert mochi-like shell with strawberry powder on the outside and hazelnut ice cream (I think???) on the inside. The strawberry rhubarb dessert was excellent also. Such a great meal. Loved it.

They were so loud that management asked them to quiet down (which was greatly appreciated by us and others). It's an at least a 2-hr dining experience for a 5-course dining experience. The portions are just the right size and even shareable. The hubs did the 5-course with wine pairings, dessert and coffee and I the 3-course. I was able to share some of his items and wines as well. They are Michelin recommended and still awaiting a star. Here's to hoping they get it soon. All the servers step up for one another as well and take their time explaining what the item is, all the ingredients and how it's prepared. Check this off your dining list while in Copenhagen!

They served both seafood and steaks but more seafood options. There also was a 3 and 4 course option for those hungry diners. We started with a single plate of fried squid that was a good size for us to share. Most were cut into French fry like sticks which was different presentation and then fried. All pieces weee dusted with paprika and came with a side of lemon mayo for dipping. Squid had a good chew to it and a good start off to our dinner. Mussels came in a huge pot, the largest serving to date. We ended up filling two bowls with shells. The wine broth was quite delicious and the bread was perfect for dipping and soaking up that goodness. The whole seabass was another well done dish covered in greens and easy to debone. The fish was light and tender. Service was attentive. A bread service per person was added to the check. Tiny restrooms were located next to the check in desk. The restaurant was quite busy by the time we left. We finished in less than the 2 hour time allotment noted in our reservation. Would revisit should we have the opportunity to return to Copenhagen.

I ordered the moules marinieres (mussels) and my fiance ordered the fish collar. The portions were large, as I didn't expect my moules to be such a large bowl. But honestly, not a complaint! Fries, salad, all entrees were delectable. No notes. Service was friendly and in Europe, definitely not fast paced like in USA. I didn't care as we had no urgency and on vacation. I wasn't quite sure what to expect - would the food look weird? Would it taste odd? We dove into ordering - the Bacon with BBQ sauce was addictive, as were the pork cracklings. We ended with a mousse for dessert. I should also mention that they have an extensive gin and tonics menu that is not to be overlooked. Clearly I had to move it to the top of my To Eat list and get that one checked off, pronto. So, now that I have sufficiently covered the Kødbyen food territory, I feel qualified to say Nose2Tail is my new favorite. The concept is brilliant (they use free-range grass-fed everything, and don't waste a single organ - clearly I'm a fan), the food is absolutely divine, the selection of wines is fantastic, and the ambiance is extremely hyggelig. I came here on a "date" with one of my closest friends from NY and we both could not shut up about how great the food was, from start to finish. The only drawback is that my jacket smelled like meat fat for about a week afterward. If you come here in winter, do not be tempted to hang yours by the bar where all the convenient hooks are. The entrance to the kitchen is right next to that wall, and trust me, you will regret it (even my perfume wasn't strong enough to destroy the stench). Perfect venue for groups up to 6-8 (they may be able to accommodate more), a date, or girls night out. And as the saying goes: Eat more bacon, have more sex.
