Another great meal at Hooked on Sushi. I stopped by today and, despite how busy they were, the service was still excellent. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and my food came out quickly. I ordered the Vitamin Roll, a yellowtail hand roll, and a side of chicken gyoza. Everything was fresh and tasted great. The fish was especially fresh, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back. The sesame chicken was good, but kind of warm, not hot. The miso soup was very watery. The salad was simple. We ordered teriyaki chicken was room temperature. It was bland, and slightly tasteless. High end sushi restaurants take more care in the preparation and the way the fish is sliced/placed. This looked like they sawed pieces of fish from a serrated knife and slapped it on the rice. Celebrating the wife's wonderful performance review so decided to go out for sushi. Parking was surprisingly busy on a Monday night, but were able to find a spot and be seated right away. Ordered a bottle of Sapporo which happened to be one of the few things on the happy hour menu. Also, looking at the beer menu and doing the math the big bottle of Sapporo is the best bang for your buck before the happy hour discount. They do happy hour wine on Tuesdays if you're a fan of the grape. We ordered the Monkey Brain, Black Dragon, and the Homie. The homie was our favorite, but none were bad. Welcomed on entering by the hostess and seated promptly. It's a very nice open space with lots of seating and good amount of seating at the sushi bar. It has a nice ambiance with the music level and decor. It had a good clean feel inside. Sashimi combo comes with 6 piece sashimi a side salad and miso soup. Fish nicely sliced and good flavor! Soup could have been a touch hotter but it was pretty good overall on the flavor, nice pieces of seaweed and tofu chunks. Salad was a simple one but the dressing...SO GOOD!!!!!!! Nicely displayed Shrimp tempura appetizer was nicely cooked with shrimp to tempura ratio, dipping sauce was also really good 2 item combo with chicken katsu and crunch roll with rice, side salad and miso soup was really good. Stumble upon this restaurant from a food delivery app. I was tired from playing pickle ball and I didn't want to be nice to anybody in public so I decided to order in. HAHA. I was craving sushi and didn't really know where to order from and the promotion from the app was compelling. I was starving so I ended up ordering the tempura appetizer some Nigiri and some specialty rolls and hand rolls. I didn't really have a high expectations because of it being delivered but holy moly did it impress me. The shrimp tempura was nicely battered. Not overly fried and the batter was nice and light. My hand rolls were nice and full. The seared albacore was actually my favorite one. All of the specialty roles that we had were pretty massive. We got El Fuego, the Homie and TNT. I probably ordered too much food, but it's OK because they were still good as leftovers the next day as well. Fish quality was good not like Omakase good but you know good good. I'm hoping to come back here in person when I'm feeling a little nicer and want to actually talk to people. I'm definitely hooked on sushi. Came in for lunch and we all ordered bento boxes. I was really surprised with how much food you get! These bento boxes are massive. Each one comes with your choice of protein, salad, miso soup, rice, half a Cali roll, mixed tempura, and pork gyoza. All for just $15.50 per person. Such a great lunch deal and I wish I could have finished mine. The quality of everything was really great and love that they know how to cook rice properly. Surprisingly decent sushi for the price. I've paid more for less quality and taste. It's no Nobu (I was served by him once many years ago), but it's easily edible and their pricing is pretty easy on the wallet as far as sushi goes. I always get hand rolls, and they are consistent with the size, which is a pet peeve of mine at many other places, when I get rolls that aren't filled nicely. Also, their miso and other soups are very hot, which is the way it should be. You'd be surprised how many places can't even get that right. read more

Went to get some sushi and ramen today for lunch. It was my first time here. My wife and I arrived as soon as the places opened at 1130am. The staff was very welcoming. The inside was very pleasant. We had ordered the lunch two roll combo which included a choosing of a house and specialty roll. Thinking it wasn't going to be enough food, we also ordered miso and tonkotsu ramen. Wife was cravin sushi and we were recommended by one of our co workers to try this place. Walked in and was very busy, so we're thinking it will be really good. We were met at the front by the hostess and sat right away. We were looking around the restaurant and noticed there were saki bottles as decor which was a interesting design on the wall. We were looking at the menu there were a lot of different rolls (like 7-8 pages worth), I went with the tuna hand roll and the dragon roll. The sushi came out fairly quick and the first thing I noticed there was more rice and fish, which is something I nitpick when It comes to sushi. Sushi should be more of the fish than rice, so this is probably the only reason I would give 4 stars. The overall rolls still tasted good and they looked really big as well. I think you get your moneys worth if you do come here but it's probably because of how much rice they put in vs the amount of fish. I think if they fix their portions when it comes to their rolls I think it would make the taste of their sushi that much better. This is probably my only visit to this chain. read more

Good sushi place I have frequented in the area. Good service and usually easy to get a table. Sushi wise this time around had most rolls with lemon, taisho and spicy spider roll. Spider was actually spicy when we asked for extra spicy which was right. Also had chicken katsu which is pretty good. Only lowlight I would say was had a crunchy roll and the panko was rather greasy and texture as a bit off. Now normal for here having had that roll many times. read more

Ordered from DoorDash. The Bento Box went up in price so I thought maybe the food improved? Nope. The pictures for the chicken teriyaki showed it cooked with the teriyaki sauce on it. Nope. No wasabi or ginger for the California rolls, are ya kidding me? One of the rolls was completely apart Only one Shrimp Tempura From the pictures on the website I expected there to be sauce on the chicken and for the chicken to be cooked with the sauce on it, this was not the case. Once again plain chicken, dry as a bone, without any teriyaki sauce on it, just on the side. It was like eating a frozen TV Dinner. DoorDash blatantly misrepresented what I ordered and they refused to compensate me, just refusing it after using the Help function on the order. I will start using GrubHub more often, they actually have customer service. read more
