This place is nice for sushi and hand rolls. I came here with my bestie on a busy Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. It was pretty crowded, so we had to wait to be seated. We ordered edamame and miso soup as appetizers, but the edamame didn't arrive until after we finished our hand rolls, and the miso soup never came out. That said, the overall ambiance is upbeat and laid-back, making it a decent spot for a casual sushi outing.

Wow this place was really busy and noisy! I like the fast turn over that just means fresh sushi for us. I ordered the 6 piece hand roll and I liked it a lot! Made me so full! The only thing that would stop me from coming back is the parking situation. Since we were seated on the bar area it was confusing if we were supposed to have a dedicated waiter or not. Luckily we just ordered once and didn't have to look for the same girl who took our order initially.

First visit in. Great ambiance, server Max was very sweet. It was super busy so service lagged a lil but he still bee lined to get us what we needed. Edamame & seaweed salad were fantastic. We had some hot saki with our dinner. Our roll had a discrepancy, however the most gracious manager Salvador comp'd our meal, went above and beyond to make sure our first visit would have us come back as repeat patrons. Thank you Mr. Salvador for your great customer service skills, management and dining accommodations. Very much appreciated. Also, I hope the girl who lost her Louis Vuitton wristlet & keys was able to retrieve them right away with finding them in the ladies restroom. Thank you for saving her keys and items for her. Again, you are appreciated. Hope to see yall soon in the near future.

A great place to grab a small bite after the beach! Small place, but great food! Service was okay, it was a little noisy, and small portions, but good food!

I've always liked the hand roll style of sushi, regardless of whether I'm living in Japan or living in so cal! This place totally fits the bill. The service is super attentive and the menu is relatively simple. For me, it's always the 5 handrolls and either a Sapporo or some sake. Cool vibes and great food, can't ask for more...

Temaki brings me so much joy and happiness. It has a welcoming energy that is rare and worth exploring. Top notch service and yummy food, you can't go wrong. I recommend the Dre's pop rock roll and the espresso martini. Can't go wrong with a sake bomb either!

One of my favorite food stops in Encinitas! I like sitting at the bar and getting the 4 hand rolls (Albacore, Yellowtail, Salmon, Shrimp). The Harland "Japanese style" beer is also really tasty. It can get pretty busy here so make sure to add your name to the wait list ahead of time if you're going at peak hours.

This place has been on my to visit list for a while and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience! Me and my two friends visited on a Saturday night and there was no wait to be seated. They do offer reservations online. The shop itself is super cute and clean, good ambiance. We got Brussel sprouts to share and they were good, nothing to rave about. I ordered three hand rolls, a scallop one, salmon one, and crab one. I looove scallops and theirs was so fresh! It was my favorite one. The salmon and crab were great too. They offer a bunch of sauces and I liked the yuzu one the best. Docking down a point because they forgot one of my friends handrolls and we had to remind the server twice. I'd visit again!

Been wanting to try this place for quite a while... $19 for three hand rolls (that comes to $6.33 each... )That was the lunch "special" on the sign out front but it's actually their regular menu offering. Pretty misleading if you ask me... You might as well post the entire menu on the sign. You can get 3-4-5 hand roll kits... Nothing comes with it. No miso or edamame or anything. I was expecting a nice setup of cone shaped hand rolls but instead I was served a cylindrical roll that I thought was pretty small in diameter and length (size matters LOL) Imagine a basic cut roll but uncut, narrower and shorter. It didn't seem like it had a lot of fish in it either... They bring them out one by one. I was still hungry after all three and $19 in... Pretty disappointed so far - ordered a rainbow roll for $16.. the roll was much better. Very fresh.. but still seemed lacking in the size and the amount of fish offered. The ambiance is great It's right on the 101 in the middle of downtown Encinitas... Considering I just dropped $40 on my lunch and left pretty disappointed, I can't recommend this place. There are much better options in North county..

I was greeted quickly and sat at the bar. I ordered the restaurant week prefix menu. It all started with a small bottle of sake, which had a clean pleasant flavor. The Nigiri was especially tasty, each one seasoned perfectly. The 4 hand rolls were delicious and I was pleasantly surprised by the shrimp roll. It wasn't just pieces of shrimp with rice, they had seasoned it with some mayonnaise and other spices. Very good. I'm so happy that I decided to stop here for lunch.

Temaki Bar. We ordered the 5 Handroll set. It was filling . We were thinking of ordering some more but can't. The seaweed was crunchy and fresh . Can't wait to come back for more. Parking was difficult

The Moonlight room was so ono with Shishi (perilla leaves) to balance out the flavors, Biko state (crunchy rice crackers and spicy tuna). Had to have the Dragon Roll. Onolicious marinated grilled eel with gobo for some crunch. Finally, we ordered the Omega Red roll. Woo! This one is loaded with all the textures and flavorings you can imagine. Scallop and Yellowfin Tuna were smooth. Cucumber Kimchi added crunch and Tongarashi for a little kick. Washed it all down with a glass of Sapporo!

I looove Temaki bar. I live in Escondido so it's not the closest option but well worth the drive for me (when there's no traffic lol). A friend and I stumbled upon it on a whim when we were doing a staycation at Alila Marea a few months ago. We had walked past it and it looked interesting so we stopped in despite having just had a light lunch, and I'm so glad we did! A couple of hand rolls to top off our lunch was perfect. The crisp on the nori is lovely and they're filled generously with delicious ingredients. I've since come back a few times alone, and also with my daughter and husband. Bringing my daughter is not as easy because she's 3.5 and they only have bar stool style seating, so I was a little anxious making sure she didn't fall off the bar stool. She enjoyed her miso soup and ebi nigiri. My husband likes coming here because it's more cost efficient than taking me to Azuki in bankers hill, while still satisfying my sushi fix lol. I usually order a la cart but recently got the set of 5 hand rolls and the shrimp hand roll that I don't usually order was so unexpectedly good! I also always add masago to the hamachi hand roll.

The seafood was impressively fresh, and the fish was cooked perfectly. But the real MVP of the night was the bone marrow. Rich, buttery, and decadent, it was so good I briefly considered ordering a second round and calling it dinner. Slathered on bread, it was pure happiness. Then came the pizza... and unfortunately, it felt like it showed up to a different restaurant. The crust was undercooked, the sauce was bland, and each bite left me wondering if the chef had accidentally forgotten the seasoning and the oven timer. My biggest hesitation is the value. The restaurant has the feel of a fine dining establishment, and the prices reflect that. Because of that, I found myself paying closer attention to the little details. There were a few inconsistencies in the knife cuts and sauces, and while the cocktails were enjoyable, they felt a bit expensive for what was offered. The only item that really missed the mark for me was the hot sauce served with the oysters. It tasted more like a blend of barbecue sauce and ketchup than a traditional hot sauce, and I was hoping for something with a little more spice. Even a classic like Cholula would have complemented the oysters nicely. That said, I had a good experience overall. The food was enjoyable, the service was excellent, and I can see the potential. With a little more consistency and attention to the finer details, I think this restaurant could truly match the premium dining experience it's aiming to provide.

Surprisingly, the sourdough bread bowl tasted more spectacular than the chowder. Although the soup had clean ingredients, it's runny and a little bland. Fortunately, that fresh, flavorful sourdough bread had a happy crunch while also coveting that bold sourdough flavor. YUM! I arrived at Pelly's Fish Market & Cafe (Carlsbad) on a Saturday (around 12:55PM). Parking is easy. The lot is very big. Customers order at the counter, and Staff brings the food to your table. Staff is polite enough. Staff had a very laid back, casual presence. The male staff member just appeared & plopped the food on the table before strolling over to chat with another customer. The clam chowder bowl arrived in 15 minutes. As mentioned, I appreciated the Boston Clam Chowder Bread Bowl ($16.99). The soup was unremarkable, but the sourdough bread is phenomenal. I liked how the clam chowder is peppery and piping hot, but it's also fairly bland and runny. It had a very watery consistency. Thankfully, that fresh sourdough saved this meal.
