If you do the paved trails, it'll lead you throughout the park and around the lake. The dirt trails are at the pavilion area and lead to the Spring Creek area. The Pavilion is a covered area with numerous picnic tables if you're looking to set up for a nice meal or a gathering. There's also a playground area nearby along with the lake where you can go fishing or walk around. Did I mention the size of this park and how much ground it covers!? That's one of the best features is the exploring you can do on the trails. Hands down one of my favorite parks in Harris County!

Burroughs Park is one of those places that makes you appreciate having great local parks nearby…read more It's huge and has a little bit of everything -- fishing ponds, multiple playgrounds for kids of different ages, long walking trails, and plenty of open space to just enjoy being outside. The playground areas are especially great for families because there are several scattered throughout the park, so it never feels overly crowded. The fishing ponds are also a nice touch if you want to slow things down and relax for a bit. It's a great spot for a weekend walk, letting the kids burn off some energy, or just getting some fresh air. The park is generally well maintained and there's plenty of room to spread out. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can get pretty busy on nice days and parking near the playgrounds fills up fast. But overall, it's definitely one of the better parks in the area and worth the visit.

We went on the 4 hour Catfish and Crappie excursion (and my freezer is FULL!). Justin was informative, friendly and VERY attentive to our needs. We live in Walden and this was the first time out on the lake...a VERY good way to start. There were 6 of us who comfortably sat, stood and fished. He has a fish radar to assist with knowing and learn how to feel how deep your line is. Our daughter, who has tried but never successfully caught a fish, caught many and was thrilled!!!! Afternoon catfish trip on the second day of spring and captain Ryan did not disappoint. He has a…read morenice pontoon boat that provides a great steady platform to fish from. He also has a Garmin fish finder at the front of the boat where you can actually watch the fish bite. Ryan was on time and we left the dock at 1 pm as scheduled. We arrived at the first spot Ryan had picked less than 10 minutes later and had the first keeper in the boat about a minute after getting our lines in the water. We caught fish at each of the three locations we fished at and were never more than 20 minutes from the marina. We caught over 40 catfish in 4 hours, one hybrid striped bass and a large perch. Great trip, highly recommended.
