You can also check out the smaller field and show your support as the local little league teams play baseball on the 60 ft diamond. There's also a full sized 90 ft diamond as well as lighted tennis courts, pickle ball, basketball, roller hockey, and volleyball courts.    In the warmer months they hold concerts and live events at the gazebo area and they also have a horseshoe pit which can sometimes get competitive. Not saying I'm a ringer or nothing but I have been known to throw a shoe now and again, just don't forget to bring your wallet Lol.    This park is always well maintained and clean and they're very serious about keeping that way. Dogs are welcomed as long as they're picked up after and there are restrooms located near the front parking lots. Come And Get Your Activities On!!

Per the township website and as is apparent once you arrive at this well-maintained, clean and beautiful park, it offers the following: Basketball court Bike and jogging path around the perimeter of the park Four lighted tennis courts Gazebo Horseshoe Pit Little League diamond (60 feet) Picnic area Playground Restrooms Standard size baseball field (90 feet) Tennis practice wall Tot playground next to the small diamond Two roller hockey courts Volleyball court Black Brook also offers a snack bar during baseball season, as well as picnic rentals. Even with overcast skies, it was great to be able to enjoy the fresh air and get the endorphins released today at such a pleasant spot. If you're a walker/runner, you may not find the perimeter of the trails adequate in terms of the stretch of trails (you can do multiple loops) but what's nice about this park is that you can venture into the very nice surrounding residential developments to get more distance in, with inclines/downhills. It's where you see hometown baseball games and where Food Truck fundraisers are held. Local Carnivals and Fireworks are also held here. It's where you can go and get your cardio on while you walk/run around the Park. Just recently I found out that in the Summer and early Fall months they have a Farmer's Market on Mondays where you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables. In terms of the facility it was easily 4 star level. But you can't leave out Location, Location, Location. The Morris Plains Community Center is in the middle of the Morris Plains Community Park! That means it is next to 5 baseball fields, 2 batting cages, 2 basketball courts, 2 tennis courts, 1 playground, 1 gated sand box, a covered picnic area, a pond, and a community pool. This place gets the 5 star rating because it is surrounded by so many options to have a good time outside. No voters were harmed during the writing of this review. And if there were, FUGETABOUTIT!!!

The playground offers slides, a play structure, climbing structures, standard swings, toddler swings, a red carriage, a balance beam, and a GATED SANDBOX that has sand toys for your little ones to play with. Currently this is the only public sandbox that I can think of in Morris Plains so that makes this playground a particularly nice destination for parents of children who love to play in the sand. No restrooms are available here regularly so plan your day accordingly. I believe the concession stand and restrooms are only available for large sporting and/or community events. With everything else here it's hard to complain. Ultimately the overall atmosphere of the park is very relaxing. The fields and courts are well taken care of and the pond is a destination for people who love to fish in the area. I look forward to coming back to experience it again with the family.

I am also so happy that Wheeler park welcomes everyone from all over NJ (and elsewhere). Coming from out of the county will cost you a bit more, but not much. If you live outside of Union County it is $4.00 for kids ($2.00 in county) and $6.00 for adults ($3.00 in county). This splash pad has every water feature a kid could ever need - from bigger twisty water slides, to a small dragon water slide. Also, water guns that you can shoot each other with, a pirate boat, water shooting up from the ground, and much more. My kids spent a little over 2 hours here and had an absolute blast. We've been here about 3 times and it never disappoints. Just be sure to bring some sort of shade covering. There isn't much cover at the splash pad so we usually bring our small beach tent with us. There is also a dry playground in the splash pad gated area where kids can play too. They have staff who help keep the kids safe and to make sure everyone goes down the water slides safe and sound. I highly recommend Wheeler Spray Park on a hot summer day.
