Love this place. Very spacious, machines, weights, and treadmills are always available. Yes someitmes it gets packed in the middle of the day but at night or early in the morning their is no problem working out. They have a basketball court, pickleball court, rock climibing walls, swimming pools inside and outside. Also have sauna and steamrooms. Locker rooms are clean and staff are helpful. I don't ever have an issue finding parking. Yes, it's pricey but they offer a lot for people and having an outdoor pool with plenty of places to sit and relax is nice in the summer time. read more

They've done it again! Basketball court has been close since March 22 for 'renovations' and the pickleball courts are closed too. It's now the end of April, and as you might have guessed, the Life Time which can never finish any maintenance work, has once again failed to deliver. read more

I've read all the negative reviews so here's the reasons I find this a five star gym. Note my interests and situation probably are different from yours, so I am very clear regarding these factors so you can judge whether this gym makes sense for you. Lifetime bills itself as an athletic country club. It definitely has that feel. Many amenities are included in membership including towel service, saunas, lockers with locks installed, a cafe, a spa with massages as well as full beauty services. An infants and Kids Academy (at extra cost) are available. Indoor sauna and steam rooms are available plus indoor whirlpool, lap pool and leisure pool. In season there's an outdoor pool. Basketball courts, rock climbing and a squash court and pickleball at available. Lots of pickleball - lessons, leagues and just play. I assume this is eating into some of the time alloted to other activities but since I joined after pickleball exploded as an activity, I can't judge before and after. Plus I do not play any of the above racket sports. Classes galore including yoga, cycle, Pilates, Barre and dance. Training classes at various levels of intensity and desired outcomes are numerous. As a new member you get a free training session. Everyone said, since I have neck surgery and have nuts, bolts and screws in my neck, I should schedule my personal session with Jason. And Jason caught into my physical limitations more quickly than many physical therapists. Afterwards, I bought another lesson with him, and a cardio evaluation, both of which were very worthwhile and kept me improving. The equipment floor has a wide variety of weights, machines, bicycles, ellipticals, treadmills - just about everything you'd think of. Plus there is staff all over. From time to time, I've needed help with equipment or have a question and everyone has been most helpful. The facility is exceptionally clean with no gym odor whatsoever. I truly hate the gym smell and I don't know exactly how they do it, but the ventilation and odor control must be superb. The equipment is very well maintained. I reported that one of the recumbent ellipticals wasn't working and someone was there within 5 minutes to fix it. Due to my physical limitations, most of the classes are off limits to me. (My neurosurgeon said "No pickleball or sky diving"). The personal training has been first rate. I dislike swimming, so while I watch people doing laps and just handing out in the indoor pool, I have no personal experience. I am on Medicare and get this gym free through United Healthcare Supplement as a benefit. It is about 20 minutes from my house. Other gyms were closer but not nearly as well appointed or clean. In addition to the distance, another trade off here is limited hours for those using Medicare. Entrance times: M-F 9:30 to 3, Sat after 2 and all day Sunday. Now if you come in at 3 on a Tuesday, you can stay as long as you want, but you have to be there by 3. I don't know what it is like to do an entire work out after work or in the evening although when I've stayed past three it's clearly starts getting more crowded. Since it's free, I don't have to assess a value vs benefit. It's an expensive, high end gym. There's another gym, also free, within walking distance. I'd rather drive 20 mins. Then again, I'm retired. I like working out on the weight equipment and recumbent elliptical bicycle. It's been incredibly helpful I have so many equipment options so I can find things that work for my specific circumstances. And as I have gotten stronger, more equipment is available. Personally if you have the money, I'd definitely at least tour one of the Life Time facilities. read more

I have been to many gyms in the past and am a very active member of the fitness community. I just don't understand the hype of this gym. The price is outrageous and honestly not worth it. I wish they had more tiers of membership and amenities to allow for lower cost options. The gym equipment/floor itself isn't that outstanding and there is no turf/large space for dynamic movements such as sled pushes or walking lunges. Overall a nice gym but definitely not worth the price, especially if you're not using all of the amenities. Also had to pay extra for certain classes like Pilates and the instructors felt like they were not knowledgeable of Pilates concepts and fitness. read more

Love the pool. Sometimes they don't have it heated appropriately but when us regulars complain, they turn it back up. We joined 15 years ago and it has gone up in price over the years. We became senior citizens on Medicare and have United Healthcare as insurance so now our memberships are free. My husband loves the spin instructors and I mainly stick to the pool. We like how clean it is, how the showers are private stalls and not open group and they have locks on the lockers. Also they have shampoo, conditioner and body wash in each shower. Also shaving cream which is nice. Disposable razors and Qtips are available. The toilets are clean and in working order and the women's steam room is scented with eucalyptus, which I happen to like. read more

Hard to get a pickleball court. A lot of things stolen from lockers. Friday someone was able to get into a locked locker and stole an iPhone and keys to her car. Took the car to Costco and bought 2 laptops! I heard many stories about the staff stealing from lockers. Not as clean as it should be. read more

I had a membership here for 4 months but had to cancel because of how ridiculously crowded it is for the price. Even during non peak hours there are always hoards of high schoolers hogging the free weight and machine areas. During peaks hours, forget it. The cardio area seems to have better capacity but for the price I would expect the club to feel like it has SOME level of exclusivity. Some of my friends enjoy the group classes but I can't speak to those. I've started investing what I would have spent each month on a membership into a home gym and it's coming along nicely. I would suggest doing the same or going elsewhere for a fraction of the price. read more

Life Time is a great gym with pretty much everything in one gym. As soon as you enter, there is a spa (with amazing services, I will be posting a separate review for this to go into detail, but for now they are just simply amazing), a food place which has some great smoothies and food. The locker room is very clean and huge. Even when the gym is the most packed, you wouldn't realize it at this gym. The sauna and steam room are amazing as well. They also have a pool and 2 Jacuzzi. My issue with the pool is that I really can't get any laps in because there are always kids swim team meetings going on so this place is super crowded with kids yelling. The kids also come into the jacuzzi, so you can't really relax there either. I signed up for personal training sessions and was extremely disappointed. Each session is WAY more expensive than you would pay at any other gym so you would assume you would get exceptional service right? WRONG. This service was a waste of my money and time. My "trainer" wanted me to sign up for a bunch of different things which cost a ton of money on top of the sessions that I was already paying for. The thing that killed me was that she was making me REPEAT workouts each time I went there? Why do I pay you for this service? For being a high end gym with so many services, this sort of training is a true disservice to all the members there. Unfortunately this was enough for me to end my membership. I hope this gets fixed in the future because everything else about this place was truly 5 stars. read more

I miss LTF Florham Park more than I ever imagined. I visited with my nephew as a guest one Sunday back in 2016 and spent the whole day there felt like I had died and gone to heaven. Worked out on the newest equipment, the staff was absolutely amazing and everything immaculate including the spa, pools, locker rooms and showers. The very next week I joined.At that time I was grossly out of shape and clinically depressed, type 2 diabetic and headed to an early grave. When I joined they were running a 90 Fitness Challenge and I signed up thinking what did I have to lose? I was not someone who finished anything I ever started at the time. They put me on a team with a trainer and gave me a regime to follow. I was really in a bad head space was still mourning the loss of my Mom and was new to NJ didn't have many friends. I was encouraged by the entire staff and it was the hardest thing I had ever done those 90 Days really showed me I was not ready to check out early. I lost 88 lbs during the challenge and came in 1st at Florham Park NJ (not Nationally) but I didn't care I felt like my whole life had changed and it had. Getting up at 3:30 am every morning to work out before heading to work became not only my routine but a religion. Eating healthy and having confidence in myself for the 1st time I can ever remember. This gym will change your life if you need it. Sadly, I had to quit in 2019. My job was downsized and it was the toughest decision I had to cutback on. I had a lot of setbacks the last 2 years as did we all. I thought I might be able to get it going again but I couldn't. This place saved my life, and it's worth every penny. The pandemic really leveled me and humbled me, lost so much and it put me into a downward spiral mentally and physically. I highly recommend LTF it truly is amazing. This year they just decide to close family swim for outside pool until 12. it's mean you have to take little kids to the pool when sun is the worse and most of the toddler have nap time. I joined with my medicare supplement and was nervous at first with the classes. I do the barbell strength, and extreme fitness and really enjoy the instructors . I get ignored by them when I check in and Amanda is really never there. For the money I pay for membership and other activities I pay for I don't deserve the rudeness! I have a free "Standard" membership to Life Time through United Healthcare's Renew Active fitness program for Medicare members. The hours are slightly restricted with this tier of membership (Monday - Friday: 9:30a.m. - 3:00p.m., Saturday: 2:00p.m. - close and Sunday: all open hours) but since I'm retired I go during the week, not on weekends. I love the pools, the jacuzzi/hot tub and the sauna. My husband likes the Arora classes designed for people 55 and older. The classes combine strength training with dance/Zumba moves and fill up quickly. The showers have dispensers filled with body wash, shampoo and conditioner and the women's locker room has body lotion and hairspray as well as blow dryers and unlimited towels. It feels luxurious. I deducted one star because my Standard membership does not allow me to play pickleball. There aren't enough pickleball courts, so the paying members have priority. I understand the logic but it's annoying nonetheless. All in all it's fantastic to have a free membership and I really enjoy going there. read more

This place is the holy mecca of gyms. The service is exceptional, from the front desk people to the locker room attendants. You'll constantly see employees buzzing around trying to keep the place as clean as realistically possible. Every employee I've ever met here has always had an awesome attitude. They have tons of equipment, treadmills, stairmasters, cable machines, squat racks, flexible benches, everything you'd ever need really. Everyone complains about the pricing, but it's really just the price of a cup of coffee every day. But obviously with anything you buy, if you don't use it often then of course it's not worth it. The highest traffic times are from 8-10am and 5-7pm, so if you want to avoid traffic then don't go during these times. They also have a lot of group classes like zumba, cardio stuff, spin classes, etc. I HIGHLY recommend the yoga classes, which alone are worth the cost of the membership. Brittany and Danielle are my favorites, so make sure you give their classes a try. They also have 2 giant indoor pools, as well as an outdoor pool (opens every memorial day) with a couple water slides. All in all, this place sets a new standard for gyms that even places like Equinox can't match. read more

Because one of their basketball courts is used as a kids camp all day, and the second one is used to play lame pickle ball by rejects. I really don't understand the negative reviews. I have been coming here with my wife for about four months now and it is way better than the gyms that I have gone elsewhere which justifies the pricing. They have all sorts of equipment, anything you could possibly want. Even when it's crowded it doesn't feel crowded and there's always machines available to use. This place also has amenities that other gyms don't have. The only negative is that the swim teams can commandeer all the lap pools at the same same time; however, this has been the case at all the gyms I have gone to with a pool. When I first joined this gym it was great. Now there are too many kids running around. You can no longer use the indoor pool during normal hours because they cater to kid swim teams. There are always kids running around on the training floors even though you're supposed to be over a certain age. And they stare at you. It's been 2 weeks now since I joined the gym. I wanted to wait before giving my honest review, so here it is. PROS: the gym is new, clean, and modern. There are ample spaces to both work out and relax on your own or in a group. The trainers have gone ABOVE AND BEYOND to make me feel comfortable and help me achieve results. Special shoutouts go to Andrew, Andy, and George who provided great onboarding sessions and advice and GILL, who is probably my favorite human right now. She runs the Team Burn class which has kept me coming back every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday consistently. The pool is often crowded at times, but I've always been able to find a lane soon after i arrived and the water is the perfect temperature. The hot tubs are HUGE and the saunas are great. Especially the eucalyptus one. It's super easy to reserve the squash courts and the basketball courts are nice. I haven't tried the rock walls yet, but the area looks nice. The yoga studio is the definition of serenity and the perfect place to go after an intense group class in one of the studios...which are great btw. Core blast and Spartan Strong have caught my attention thus far. Everything in the cafe is super tasty; a little pricey, but nothing is cheap here. You're paying for quality. AS A TRANS PERSON, I especially value the fact that there is a family locker room. It's mainly for kids, but it's a safe zone for people like me so I don't have to feel weird in the Men's locker room. I have been met with nothing but support and acceptance from everyone here and I even feel comfortable in the swimming area. CONS: Not a huge fan of all the children running around all the time. They're loud, obnoxious, and they stare at you. They pretty much take up be entirety of the family locker room, but that's what it's for so I can't really complain about that. The only things that get annoying are the pool, the basketball courts, and the rock walls. When it's a weekend, good luck trying to use any of those without kids stepping on you. THERES NO TENNIS COURT. I got really excited looking on the website because it showed a tennis court, but unfortunately those are at the next level clubs only, not onyx. There are only eucalyptus saunas in the men's and women's rooms so if I want to use those I have to suck it up and use the men's room. Those are really the only cons I have. If you are joining here for group fitness classes like Yoga or Pilates save your time and money. There is no consistency with any classes offered. They will be offered at completely different times and with different instructors everyday. When this issue was raised with management the lady Sara called me & spoke a mile a minute, didn't try to understand the issue and ultimately said they don't have instructors that can do the class at the same time everyday, so they put in different instructors. Their responses make no sense and their customer service needs a serious upgrade. For the amount of money we pay they cannot bring in a single consistent instructor. They only care about customers that are willing to 100+ per session in addition to the membership fees and are always looking for ways to up sell other services. If they just focused on bettering the services they actually have, they wouldn't be losing so many customers. Staff also seems to have sticky fingers as several people have had items stolen from the changing rooms including myself. This place used to be good, it's gone to complete shit. read more

However many people love them and the room itself is great. Cycling studio also pretty awesome. Love the open workout area which is great for body weight exercises. I reduced the number of stars on here due to scheduling at the indoor pool . It's like night and day at LT . Summer comes the outdoor pool opens and it's awesome. Then I dread Labor Day because the outdoor pool closes and everybody crowds the indoor pool . Not an issue to lane split but now the swim team gets priority over paying members every Saturday morning from 8am to 1.30pm ( and to add insult to injury the membership fee was increased once again) If your like me your Saturday's mornings are spent driving to LT getting a good workout in them off to your kids soccer game or family event . I'm not sure why the swim teams can't practice from late Saturday mornings (say 10am to 2pm) to avoid the AM crunch ) ! Also in addition to the swim team taking up 4 lanes in the Lap pool the smaller pool is booked with water aerobics and swim lessons. After 10 years of swimming at LT I'm definitely considering taking my $135 a month membership and looking elsewhere. Very disappointed!! read more

I have been a member of this Gym since January and wanted to wait until now to write a fair review. This is one of the nicest locations in the area, with steam room, sauna and pools (Indoor and outdoor). The outdoor pool is one of the reasons I joined this particular gym. The gym has plenty of equipment and you can usually find what you need and an open machine. When I joined I decided to enroll in some personal training sessions to help me get started. My trainer Heather was so sweet, motivating and truly understood my needs, and worked very hard to push me and keep me engaged. She did a great job and is really passionate and knowledgable. The downside (which has sort of ruined my club experience) is that the billing department constantly made mistakes. I let it go a few times (these were not small mistakes they were hundreds of dollars) They put me on a recurring charge instead of just charging for what I was actually getting. They also take a long time to refund the mistake. I had to cancel one credit card after they made the same mistake multiple times. Be very careful to check your statements every month and make sure the charges are correct! If there was another comparable gym in the area I would switch for this reason alone. read more

Family's dehytrator has out of servie more than 3 weeks and men's room was out of serive last week. I couldn't walk into women's room to use good one. I suggested people in front desk to move women's one to family room to share before the debytrators fixed. It has been a week, I didn't see any action was taken. Since more people join in thus gym, and detytrator was out of service more than before, is it possilble to add montor to check who abused those machines. read more

I really like this gym it has everything that a person needs to have for a healthy, enjoyable and relaxing routine. First, I joined this place because hubby is crazy about exercising and having a healthy lifestyle. I am more of a lazy person; however, as I mentioned it before this place has everything. Lets start from the best part, the spa OMG! if you are into Korean saunas you will like this place a lot. It has a dry and wet sauna, hot tubs and indoor and outdoor pools so if your thing is relaxing and swimming this is the place. Within the lockers you don't have to worry about bringing towels, or shampoo, conditioner or any of those things this place give it to you for free. it is considered a very relaxing and pampering place within the same gym complex they have a body and facial spa, a hair salon and a manicure and pedi station all in one. Also, this place have a nice restaurant service is nice and quick and they selection of food is very diverse and balanced. in addition they have a rock climbing area, squash and basketball court and soccer and the gym is a paradise for anyone that loves to exercise and that hates when people are to close to each other. Amanda who runs summer camp is very helpful, and Michelle in the activities department is such a gem; she makes it a pleasure to participate in the many events and activities offered here. The gym is always clean (aside from the showers here on the floor in the women's locker room, due to heavy usage) and they are extremely serious about safety. This is not a bad thing, but if you have children want to go on the waterslides in the summer, or swim without a life preserver on, please know that they will make sure said child is most definitely tall enough for their standards, and passes an intense swimming test. All of the classes I've been to are great: the Zumba is energetic, the group weight lighting classes have encouraging but challenging instructors, and the yoga studio is large and relaxing. I've been a member of Lifetime on and off since it's opening over a decade ago. Prices are exorbitant now $250 a month for a single member when all taxes are included. They are overcrowded and classes must be reserved. Other members don't honor the reservations and end up taking your spot that you reserved a week prior. The facilities and amenities have declined drastically over the years. No longer feels like luxury. Overcrowded and not well-managed. read more

I joined because they have pickleball courts. The membership price is expensive and I did not feel it was worth it. The pickleball players say they are frustrated by the management. The pickleball staff doesn't seem to know what they are doing and the pickleball experience reflects that. Management tries to mask all this by smiling and nodding at members, but things are not run well there. You can see by Lifetime's responses to the Yelp reviewers here, that Lifetime wants to give the appearance of being attentive to feedback. Pretending only goes so far and in the end, the results speak for themselves. Maybe they get some credit from Yelp if they respond to a review, no matter what is said? General Club management seems to only want to perfect the Art of Appearing to Care, rather than finding out how to really solve a problem. Out of all of the gyms in the surrounding area, Life Time Athletic is the best by far. The facility is huge, clean and has everything you could ever ask for in a gym and more. There's so much equipment and lots of different classes to attend. The staff is super friendly and helpful and I've become good friends with the trainers here. While I don't typically take the classes, the ones I have taken are great. The cycling classes are really fun and they have special event classes every once in a while such as workout classes outside by the pool and they even provide food after! LOVE the pool (when someone doesn't drop glass in it or a child doesn't throw up in it), such a nice place to hang out in the summer. As someone who typically gravitates towards the weights, there's so much equipment to use and I've never seen so many squat racks in my entire life! I've taken a deadlift workshop which is a great way to ensure you don't hurt yourself working out, and the trainers are always more than willing to give you advice/recommended a workout routine. Truthfully, the only problem I have with this gym is the people that go to it. While there are many kind and respectful people that go here, many don't have any gym etiquette. They leave towels all over the gym, don't put their weights back, let their children run wild and get testy when they have to share a machine with you. read more

It was very fresh and tasteful, but the bottom could have been cooked a little more because it was a little soggy and hard to hold.
