The fees are too high and there is, practically speaking, no financial aid if you are unemployed.

I have to be honest, before I went to this Blink location I was worried based upon the reviews…read morebelow. I can say honestly that my visit today was a mixed bag, but overall a good experience. Located in the same parking lot as a Stop & Shop in South Orange, Blink Fitness is in a medium-is sized building. When you enter you see the (relatively small) front desk. There was one person behind the counter and he helped check me in manually as the app was having some issues. When I told him this was my first visit he was very kind about offering to show me around if necessary. I thanked him and went to work out. I mainly used the open workout area which had two Bosu balls, plenty of Yoga balls, mats and foam rollers. There was a rack of smaller weights on the side. There were also boxes for jumps and some risers. Overall it was all the equipment you need for a pretty good body weight work out (which I always appreciate). Everything was fairly well organized and clean. I paid special attention to the ceiling tiles as I walked around and did not see any mold (but such things take time to appear if there is a problem). I also used a treadmill which worked without a problem. I was there around 8am on a weekday and there were plenty of free cardio machines. Most people seemed focused on the various weights and cable machines. The locker room looked clean swept and mopped. That said, there was a very curious smell outside the lockers and inside. I've been to plenty of gyms in my time and I know you're going to deal with some funk now and then, but this was something very different. It was bearable but I think they could do with a hit of industrial cleaners on the lockers, floors and shower walls to be safe. Overall I had a good experience and will be visiting this location again.

The 5:00 AM Solidarity (Or Lack Thereof)…read more It is currently 5:20 AM on May 14, 2026, and I am standing outside a locked glass door like a Victorian orphan peering into a bakery--except instead of bread, I'm craving a rusted dumbbell and the smell of industrial-grade floor cleaner. Let's be incredibly clear: Nobody is here to socialize. If you see someone at the gym at 5:00 AM, they didn't wake up at the crack of "Why God?" because they were seeking human connection. We are not here to "network," we are not here to "vibe," and we certainly aren't here to hear about your weekend. The 5 AM Manifesto * Eye Contact is a Crime: If our eyes meet, it was an accident, and we should both legally be required to look at the floor for three to five business days. * The Purpose: We are here because we have internal demons that can only be silenced by repetitive heavy lifting or because our pre-workout kicked in at 4:45 AM and if we don't move a stationary bike soon, our hearts might actually exit our ribcages. * The Silence: The only acceptable sounds are the clanking of plates, the aggressive thud of a treadmill, and the collective, silent prayer that the employee with the keycard didn't oversleep. Current Status: The Great Lockout Right now, there are six of us in the parking lot. We are all staring at the door with the intensity of a heist crew waiting for the vault to blow. "We didn't get up before the sun just to watch the streetlights flicker, Brenda. Open the door so I can do three sets of squats and go back to being a functional member of society by 8:00 AM." To the staff member currently tucked under a warm duvet: You are standing between a group of highly caffeinated, sleep-deprived individuals and their only source of endorphins. For the love of all things holy, turn on the lights. We have a purpose. And that purpose is finishing this workout before our brains realize how much this actually sucks.

I met my individual Flexologist and reviewed my aches, pains, soreness, tightness, problem areas...and so on and so on - Damn I'm getting Frickin old! I was stretched and rubbed. Flipped over and pulled. Tugged and manipulated. I chatted and laughed. Talked about my dreams of being stretched taller and hopes of bending over and touching our toes! I watched as the clients around me were using bands to help get deeper stretches (I'm no where near that) and others had their Flexologist on the tables assisting in super stretching! When I was done - not taller BUT my tense muscles, necks, shoulders and upper back (these are the areas I chose to work on today) felt INCREDIBLE! In that 25 minutes of stretching I felt more results then a full hour massage! I suffer from terrible neck pain and migraines. I can hardly lift my right arm above my head. I felt great and had gained more movement. I never buy a "package" or booked a return date immediately to these types of places - Today I did! Returning next week.

I used come here as a kid and though it hasn't changed much, it looks well maintained and offer a lot in the way of programming which is nice. The tour included looking at all the treadmill room, locker room, pool, gym and weight room. With the resurgence of big name gyms like Blink, Power Fitness and even local ones like Coloseum this to me makes them blush with a comparable membership price but offering so much. The sign up process was fine, though they only accept direct withdrawals from a bank account which is kinda disappointing but hence the drop in star but the staff all seemed to be very friendly and they accomodate adults, children groups of people with disabliities as well as seniors looking to play 'pickle ball'. It brought back memories coming here and I'm glad its still around, serving the area all these servoces that a lot of other places would either be higher or wouldn't offer all under the same roof.

My boyfriend who I signed up with using the 20/20 referral program was adamant about trying to find a gym with extra amenities such as a pool and basketball court in which I agreed to. I come to work out around 3-4 times a week at this location and here are my thoughts. Parking can be tough if you come during peak times such as after work and weekends. The staff is friendly and they maintain the facilities cleanly and diligently. There are very restricted times and days you are able to come in for laps or shooting hoops so if you think you will sign up and go there as you please, that is unfortunately not the case.. While the basketball court area is nice and the pool is warm, the gym is pretty small and very congested. The lifting area is always dominated by males and you generally have to wait to use a lot of the popular machines. Collectively with the discount my boyfriend and I spend around $70 a month in the beginning of each month. Here is some important news, if you are looking to cancel your membership be sure to give them a full 30 days notice cause they is no such thing as a "cancellation fee" which I found to be really odd.
