I participated in Hoosier Armory Basic Handgun Firearms Training on August 8,2020. This course was taught by David, a Navy Seal, and consisted of classroom training and a trip to a firing range for hands on shooting experience. Last fall, my husband bought a pistol and shotgun from Hoosier Armory. I was not totally comfortable with the guns in our house as I have never been an active participant in gun handling in any way. That's why I took this course. By the end, I felt comfortable with the knowledge provided and in the handling of my weapon. There were more experienced participants in this class than me. I should mention that I was the only woman in this particular training, yet I left feeling more comfortable with my experience than I had hoped! Made a purchase today on a Taurus G3C to conceal carry. Very wide selection at handgun alone and definitely need to check out their shotguns. I didn't get the guys name but he was very helpful and showed me 4 different options within my budget. Background check was super fast and only took 10 minutes. Recently solicited this place in search of accessories. The owner is nothing short of rude in every sense of the word. Even listened to him talk rude to another customer on the phone while I was in the store. Unbelievable. Their selection is limited and prices are higher than other firearms stores in the area too. Combined with being treated disrespectfully, why would anyone give this unfriendly and angry person the time of day let alone their hard earned money? I will never buy from this firearms dealer ever, and here's why. Upon entering the store, I was appalled and shocked to see a leaking ceiling, merchandise stacked up and moved into piles to obviously avoid getting wet, and water collection containers on the floor. And this outfit sells firearms, boxes of ammo and accessories. For this reason, and the MANY 1 star reviews I've now read on Google and Yelp, I will not be making a return visit. I've been here quite a few times since it opened. I've always liked that they had a good selection. They've had mostly friendly staff. However they're somewhat distracted by other things, rather than helping customers. Their prices are insane to me, some of their used guns are sold at way too high of a price. I check in every once in a while to see if there's something I want. But most of the time everything is a bit too pricey for my taste. read more

I'm not a customer but here is my experience: I was patiently waiting on the side walk with my dog (not in front of their business... further down the sidewalk) minding my own business while my husband was inside Subway ordering a sandwich. A man came out from Hoosier Armory and approached me and said that this was "private property" and I needed to move. I was a bit shocked by how rude he was, as I was doing nothing wrong. I explained that I was waiting for my husband who was inside Subway and trying not to be blocking people's way with my dog. He said something about this "being a special kind of business" and that I needed to move. Not sure what that is supposed to mean in regards to me standing there minding my own business. They have some cool inventory but this place is always 100-400 dollars per weapon over every other store when I price shop. The staff also seems very indifferent to customers. Just speaking truth, wish all the stores nearby were excellent but it is what it is. read more

I'm rating an online order I made for a shotgun. The transaction went smoothly and my firearm shipped extremely fast (none of this 10 day delay stuff people are pulling these days). I communicated with the owner via email about an FFL address change and he promptly responded and fixed my issue. I visited the store on March 01 2022 because I was in the neighborhood for a dentist appointment, I was greeted by a friendly young lady. I bought a blue force gear sling, and seen a rifle that I really liked, I didn't have the cash on me to purchase it at the time. So I returned on March 10 to buy the rifle, a kind older gentleman started to help me with the purchase. I was then handed an iPad to start an electronic 4473 by a smug employee who was more interested in watching videos on a computer and playing with his smart watch. The iPad was not working correctly. Rather than rectifying the problem he continued to play with the computer. I told him to just forget the whole transaction and I would find the rifle elsewhere. I suggested using paper 4473 forms and I was yelled at. "GET OUT!" I believe was the correct quote. Not quite the rapport I was expecting as a new customer! read more

I'm honestly surprised this place has 4 stars because from what I've experienced, I wouldn't even give it 1. I was calling around different gun shops to get the best price for 9mm & .40 caliber ammo. Unfortunately, I had the DISPLEASURE of speaking to Rick (the owner) on the phone. I first inquired about the pricing for the 9mm ammo. And he stated that this question was "subjective" because it can really range from $30-$60/ 50 rounds. I stated full metal jacket or whatever the cheapest ones are before he cut me off and said, "you should really just come in." I told him that I've been calling around different places so I can get the best pricing. At this point, he seemed really inconvenienced a customer was asking questions over the phone, and I didn't even get a chance to get a price for the .40 because he had hung up on me mid-sentence. All the other places I've called before, including Copperhead Ridge Firearms had no problem answering any questions. Needless to say, I called back and asked if he hung up on me. He said yes. And then I asked for his name. He starts raising his voice, tells me his name and then before he can start telling me he's the owner, I hung up on him. I will never do business with this gun store nor ever recommend this place to anyone. Especially the customer service because he is seriously lacking on. Rick- you don't think I know that my question was subjective? I figured you'd have common sense to realize I was asking for the cheapest box as most people do... Because If I was specifying, I would've said hollow points. But thank you for stating the obvious in the condescending manner you did. I would've never known otherwise. read more

These guys are fantastic. I have visited hundreds of gun stores over the years and these guys are some of the best. I walked in with a gunsmithing dilema and they fixed at no charge. Wow! Most of the one star reviews are people who don't agree politically with the company. This is a very nice shop with knowledgeable, responsible, staff. They have some of the best prices on resale and offer consignment or purchasing. If you're doing some research, or looking to sell, definitely give them a visit. read more

I went in on a Saturday in early April to look at an M&P Shield and some new accessories. It was busy but I guess that's good. Until it was my turn and they didn't have the 2.0 the way I wanted or the best choice in accessories. Since I had all that time to kill I looked up some prices online and figured I'd order and have it transfered there. Big mistake since they gave me the hard sell on their inventory and said "You don't know what you're getting from the internet" and there FFL transfer was out of line. I stopped in today to look at a few guns you had listed on Armslist. I was ready to buy a Ruger pistol you had listed. And possibly a rifle as well. Your online prices looked very good. But the pistol was not in stock. Neither was the rifle. You have 380 guns listed online but were lucky to have 150 on display. After letting you know I wasted an hour trip one way, you still have both of them listed. I could have been a repeat customer with your prices. I purchased a handgun from Hoosier Armory a while ago. They retrieved my handgun without my agreement and refunded me $281 less than how much I paid. I called them and they were very rude by saying "I am wasting my time now by talking to you"... And I got a terrifying email the day after I talked to them. I am freaked out now. This is the most horrible customer service I have ever experienced. I hope nobody will experience this in the future. read more

This is a genuine and honest family owned business that is doing their best (and their best is the best) to build a business around the principles of our Republic. I just received my Beretta Model 90 Roma from Hoosier. 1) The gun arrived quickly and without a hitch. 2) The condition was excellent and as shown in the pictures and comments 3) I had requested some additional photos of the magazine (this model uses one of two available types), so I would know if it was a series I, II or III and the pics arrived in my e-mail promptly.
