We had our baby shower here Aug 2024. The venue is cute however be cautious of the staff and management. The management was unclear about pricing and promised that they would adjust the pricing based on the amount of guest we had. They lied and charged us for the full amount so make sure you get everything in writing. Staff working the event was extremely unprofessional with the staff just standing around smoking cigarettes outside in-front of our guest. They also do not dress professional for your event and will wait around until you tell them what to do. This was unexpected since they claim to have been doing this for many years. We are disappointed and wont be recommending to friends or family. Beware

I recently had my wedding of less than 120 people which was my final number! When planning the wedding and going through the stress of getting it all together (as most weddings is) the staff was thorough and patient. That being said I do believe their manners and the way they speak to people could be a bit better. I cannot stress how many times I was told what I wanted was not a good idea because they didn't want stress or because they've done this way more than me. Now I have been in banquet and bar business for 10 years, I would never tell a bride what she wants would be to stressful for me. Now, the wedding day! It was beautiful and almost perfect! My wedding coordinator caitie was the absolute best! Such a delight! She really helped make my day so special. On the other hand, colleen was very rude to my bridal party during my dinner that when speeches were going on they were forced to go clean the room upstairs because she didn't believe wed do it later.. that kinda ruined some of the speeches that we didn't have cause they weren't there. Nor was my bridesmaids there when i was emotional. Also, i was told i would have a 6 hour bar through dinner cause that is what was paid for. It was closed the entire dinner and speeches. Still paid full price though. As i mentioned in the beginning, my guest count was 120 and we had less than that. I was forced by the venue to have a seating chart. So I made a seating chart exactly based off the table chart they sent me. Printed and right off their copy. Yet my wedding party was sharing chairs and tables were short on chairs. Luckily I have a great group of friends and family who only cared about celebrating me and my husband. Overall, the venue itself was beautiful and exactly what we wanted look wise. Our day was absolutely special, I will not deny that. The venue and caitie get 5 stars! The other staff and experience get the 3 stars!

    Beautiful venue

Absolutely looooooove Hoosier! We just had our wedding there May 26th, and everyone is nonstop talking about it. Everyone had a blast! Katie was amazing! Took care of everything! I didn't feel a single ounce of stress! The whole team is great. From the early stages of planning with Vicky, to the actual day of the wedding with Katie. Completely flawless. I would plan my wedding again with them if I could! LOL Thank you for making our wedding the best day of our lives!

Grounds of facility beautiful, staff knowledgeable & professional

March 24, 2023 Happy a birthday 80s party at Hoosier Barn it's in a serene location, the facility is rustic, and yet a modern. It accommodated wheelchair access, the facility is extremely clean and well decorated. The staff from booking to the day of the event was extremely helpful, professional and insured, party was successful. The event planner, answered questions, decided more questions called several times, room design as party grew, food and music this is my third time at an event at this facility and each time it is gotten better. I wanted to thank Vicki /Amy and her staff for all the help.

6/2022 5* Outstanding facilities for smaller get togethers. My first time here. Vicky managed everything and the rest of the staff were all fantastic. Everything went well for everyone there.

Just had my wedding this past Friday and I have to say the first right choice...after saying yes to my handsome guy...was booking this venue. The day we met with Vickie we decided this was the place for us, not only was the venue absolutely beautiful and well maintained, but the love for the place the employees had for it definitely showed in their tour. First time bride and no clue what I was doing, Vickie held my hand through everything, every vendor she recommended was amazing, her bartenders and event staff went above and beyond anything I could have expected. The time and detail they put into our day (including the motorcycle earrings Vickie wore for us) made the entire thing go off without a hitch and the only thing I had to stress about was kissing in front of so many people LOL I can't thank Vickie and the Hoosier Barn staff enough for making our wedding the best day ever!!

Had our wedding 09/02 here and it was beautiful. From the first step in there we knew it was the place. Lesley is one hell of a man. He runs the show like no other! Extremely nice guy, the price is so on point its ridiculous. Go early, they are popular and booked out a year + in advanced. The day before our wedding day Alisha and himself planned and walked us through everything and the day of the wedding it went so smooth. Dont sweat it too much - we also had A List DJ here (DALE IS THE MAN) they do weddings here often and the DJ will run the night so you dont have to worry about ANYTHING. Anyways this place is beautiful inside and out. Take a tour and make it how you want it to be! You can cater your own food and do everything your own way. You will LOVE it.

This location is probably fine for the Every-Third-Thursday Bingo night, the semi-annual Pancake Breakfast and Book Drive, or the Tuesday Night Boy Scout meeting. Not so much for a birthday, shower, or wedding reception. It's in a virtually empty strip mall (whose parking lot and landscaping has been quite neglected). Inside the walls need painting, the bathrooms are in serious need of updating, and things are just sort of heaped and piled everywhere with no rhyme or reason. I don't know why it has to look this way - is it a funding issue? Or just run by people who don't know what they are doing? Sigh. I would love to get in there and make it look more appropriate and more deserving of these people who fought so hard for our country. Well, and people who want a hall to rent out for a something other than a spaghetti dinner.

Nope, and instead I ended up circling around. But sure, enough, make a right when the GPS tells you too. Ignore that the car dealership is there, and pay attention to the fact there's a giant sign letting you know Vogelei Park is there. We had a barbecue at one of the seating areas with a roof and it was OK. The engineers who designed and created the shelter's roof apparently didn't like the sunrise, as the way it was angled, the unusual early June 90-degree heat and sun shone right on us during the early evening. After it got dark, the shelter had lights that illuminated, which was a bummer. Overall though, it's a great place to consider for a BBQ. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located in the building, the bathrooms were good, for a public park bathroom. It had a couple of urinals and stalls. Sit or squat? Squat.

HIDDEN PARK ALERT!! HIDDEN GEM ALERT!…read more When the sun came out one afternoon after a cloudy, dreary week, I knew I had to find some outdoor spot to frolic about in. Since I was in Palatine at the time, and wanted to go home to Roselle without driving too far out of my way, I pulled up the Yelp app and typed in "park." Too many places popped up, none were what I was looking for. So I tried, "zoo." One of the first things to pop up was the Northern Illinois Raptor Center. What!? I did a quick search on what it was, expected there was some kind of magical owl zoo somewhere, and headed out this way. The drive to this park is very easy to miss. I did miss it, and had to do a long turn about through a neighborhood to get back to the entrance, which is located off of Higgins at the intersection of Golf, in between a couple car dealerships. The easiest way to find it is to look for the Hoffman Estates Park District sign and turn RIGHT THERE. Then you'll see a barn at the end of the drive and a park. Whew. I got out of my car, walked over to the barn and older building, found locked doors, wandered over to a map, scanned the map, saw absolutely no mention of any raptors or owls or birds, and decided, "Screw it, I'll just go walk around the park since I'm already here." Fortunately, my disappointment was quickly dissolved after one leisurely lap around the park. Here's what Vogelei has: - A pond that's part of the Bio Swale Water Quality Initiative. I'm still not quite clear on what it is, but it's a water system that cleans storm water runoff of man-made chemicals while providing a habitat for animals and helping the environment. Whatever it was, it sounded and looked awesome -- grassy, marshy areas, a walking path, a picturesque bride and gazebo. And white birds with long legs that fly away when I try to take pictures (darn bird). - A rose garden. Not a very big rose garden, but it's a nice little rose garden with blooms bigger than my hand. I kid you not. Crazy giant flowers. - Lots of grassy areas for picnicking, hooping, and running around like crazy. The park district also holds concerts (mainly for kids) here sometimes. - A playground jungle gym that's shaped like a barn. Sweet. - A splash pad!! It's basically a large, squishy pad with sprinklers. It's turned on during the day -- all you have to do is press down on one of the buttons on the padded surface to activate the water that shoots up. Yes, there is a chance you could get wet doing this. It's fun. Take it from this lady with the crazy hair (oh, what a sight that must have been)! - A conifer garden: an area with a bunch of tiny pine tree bushes. - Safety town. One of those little set-ups where kids can ride their tiny bikes around a little town and learn how to be safe when they cross the street and all that fun stuff. - The barn. Apparently the barn holds some kind of banquet room that you can rent for events. Cool. The park district's summer camp also uses the building for the kids -- I kind of felt like a creep walking in there. Not sure what that other, seemingly abandoned building was for. I probably spent a good forty-five minutes lurking around the park. Not bad. Still no awesome owl zoo, though. Disappointed, I left and wrote this review. As I was finishing up this review earlier this morning, I decided I really needed to go back and find that mysterious magical bird zoo before finishing this review! Back I went... and instead of an empty park, I was greeting with a full parking lot and tons of camp kids. Definitely not the kind of scene for aimless wandering with a camera. Fortunately, someone pointed me in the direction of the raptor center... YES! IT EXISTS! ... which was in a cluster of tiny house-like buildings, surrounded by a fence to keep people out. There were no birds. The birds will be on display later this year or something. Bummer, but so glad I figured out this mystery! SO. This definitely isn't your typical suburban neighborhood park. I won't go out of my way to come back here again (OK, maybe I will -- because I already did), but if I'm in the area and looking for a quiet park to hang out in, I'd re-visit. Nice job, Hoffman Estates.

The reason I am giving this Hall two stars is because on the day of my son's birthday celebration I walked in and there were Christmas decorations set up around the room. My event was a couple weeks past Christmas, and I was not aware of this being set up. I was not happy when I saw these Christmas decorations because I had a big theme planned for the birthday party that had nothing to do with Christmas. I told the bartender that I wanted the decorations taken down because we had the hall rented for a birthday, not a Christmas party. The bartender told me that there is a Christmas Party being held next weekend in the room that the hosts set up for. I am not sure why they allowed someone to set up for a Christmas party, a week ahead of time, when they knew there was a birthday party being held at the hall. I asked him if we could take them down, and he said we could, but we needed to put it back up. I was busy as it was trying to set all the stuff up for my son's birthday, so having to take down Christmas wreaths and other decorations was not something I should have had to do, or have to put them back up. There were some decorations that were challenging to put away, like the decorated Christmas tree, so that had to be left out. These decorations should not have been allowed to be put up until after our event was over. I would not go back for that reason.
