It's through him that I heard of the Central Street Busker Festival that took place the next day and his line was loooong! Most recently, we went to his show last week that the Mt. Prospect Public Library held for spring break. That was very very well attended, with a long line of folks waiting to get in (and that's with all of us registered to attend!), but the show was a lot of fun. He did a little magic, a little comedy, and some fun balloon tricks. This guy has been doing this all his adult life--unless that's also a joke and part of his act--but regardless, he's great at his job. I'm looking forward to seeing him again and my little one having the chance to pick her balloon creation on her own.

We were on the hunt for a one stop shop for decor for a small backyard party during Covid-19:…read morelights, furniture, rugs, pillows, etc. This turns out it's harder to find than I expected unless you go with the big time players like Kehoe that was a bit pricier than I wanted for this particular party. I loved the rustic look of the furniture Elegant had and their prices were better than most. While they didn't have any rugs or pillows to rent (sigh), their wine barrels were perfection to use as high boys and ended up getting a bunch of their low benches to put together as low tables (to use with floor seating). And they were also able to provide lights for my backyard. While every other vendor told me that postposting due to rain or Covid-19 wasn't an option (say whaaa?) I also liked that they were flexible. The main issue was that getting ahold of them was extremely difficult. If the Yelp reviews didn't give me faith that they'd show in time fo the bash I would have been extremely worried. It took a lot of stalking for both me and my party planner to get a contract, pay for the contract and a date to set everything up. There is an emergency # and found that we had better luck when we called the emergency #. They set everything up a few days in advance so I didn't worry too much about them being a no show. I let them know they needed to come at 7am to get it all done since I was headed out for a busy day and they showed up even a few minutes early. An hour later my yard was lit up beautifully and I was really happy with the look of the furniture for the price. They set it all up on a Thursday morning and said they would be back on Monday to pick it up (also prompt for pick up) so we got to enjoy a long weekend of beautiful lights. While the service leading up to the event wasn't the best, I'd probably still use them since it was smoothly the weekend of the event. However, I'd hope they would be more on top of their communication next time.

DJ Perry Johnson of Echo Entertainment really got the party started at my wedding!…read more Perry was very professional, meeting with my soon-to-be husband and myself beforehand to discuss the the layout of the night and the types of music we wanted. He also assured us he had not one, but two backups if his primary computer should fail when it came time to play music. His DJ equipment included lights, a projector, and a screen so that we could play a slideshow during dinner. We left some song choices up to him and he couldn't have made better selections - some of them were slower, more classic songs that appealed to our older guests, and then he'd play faster more recent songs for the younger crowd, it was the perfect mix! Perry periodically checked in with us to let us know when the cake cutting was going to happen or when we should get ready to do our first dance. He was also kind enough to remind people to take the extra desserts from the sweet table and the centerpieces at the end of the night, without us having to ask. Echo Entertainment did a great job of getting people out on the dance floor and keeping them there. There were people who weren't really comfortable dancing that were having a great time! We got many compliments from people stating how much fun they had! I highly recommend contacting Echo Entertainment if you are looking for a DJ for an event. DJ Perry is professional and takes his job of entertaining people very seriously! I believe that Echo Entertainment also hosts karokee at different locations each week, which is probably why he did such a great job of working the crowd. I would check them out!

Cantigny is beautiful in all seasons. It's become a favorite place for my daughter and I to go with…read morethe grandkids. There is something to enjoy for all ages. Last year, they had a row of swings suspended from the trees near the parking lot. It was always a highlight of our visits. In 2026 there is only one swing and it's near the tanks, so there is a wait to use the swing. Cantigny is a bargain because they charge admission by carload instead of individually. Admission is only $6.00 on weekdays, and Wednesday is free if you register in advance.

We met Jamie at our venue's vendor expo and were immediately impressed by their services, pricing, and vast food offerings. It was a no brainer to book with their group! We had our tasting a couple months before our wedding day; which is complimentary to the couple and a $50 charge for any additional guest to join. They have you select 8-10 appetizers, 2 salads, and 4 entrees to taste at their Naperville location. They also have displays of china, silverware, glasses and more to help couples select what aligns aesthetically for their special day. Jamie worked with us to make small modifications to their standard offerings to make the food exactly what we wanted! Our wedding day came and we were floored by the quality/presentation of food, level of detail in place settings, and service from all staff members. We had multiple guests say that this was some of the best wedding food they've had, steaks were not over cooked, and food tasted fresh. Jamie also let us add desserts a week out to reallocate money from a couple of guests who last minute were unable to attend. Their team was even nice enough to service items not purchased through their group: disposables for the late night snack, display and refilling of cupcakes, etc. Overall, their group went above and beyond for us under Jamie's leadership. Our tables looked great, our food was wonderful, and their team was fabulous. We truly appreciate all they've done for us and could not recommend them more!
