Jason will not make corrective repairs to the 2" PVC pipe run in my basement that exceeds 60' run, in which experts have indicate that this PVC pipe is undersized for this length of exhaust run. Even worse, he will not correct the placement of the tankless water heater exhaust flue that is directly under living space windows. I cannot use these two rooms with windows open or the exhaust fumes waft into my home. Kroozwyk violated the 3 to 4 foot minimum distance for the exhaust flue to be positioned near living space windows. I've had multiple conversations with the office manager requesting they make corrective repairs, but this company refuses to correct their deficiencies. I plan to pursue this matter in Lake County Indiana Small Claims Court unless they contact me to make corrective repairs or within a week of this post. This location is Hebron, IN in Lake County.

I contacted D & M because I was in need of air conditioning and heating repair or replacement . I will only be able to review the work, professionalism, and not the air conditioning itself since I never got an appointment to repair or replace. D&M is owned by a man named Dan Jackson. At least that is the name he gave me. He said he and his wife own the company. He states he has some employees, but didn't say how many in total. At first Dan seemed like a caring and friendly guy. He gave his sales pitch after reviewing what I currently have in my home. As he went through his sales pitch he would state that we were ripped off, and that the company before cheated us, and didn't know what they were doing. He would also throw in about his former employer, and others in the HVAC field. He would go on to state that others didn't know what they were doing, and that he left one employer because he said they didn't know what they were doing. This all should have been a red flag. He would throw out some info about other customers, and their issues that he has dealt with in the past. He said some are currently on a wait list, due to them wanting this or that done. And even talked about if they need something right now he didn't want to do, he made them wait if they had a window air conditioner. I felt from hearing this information that he thinks of himself as being above the others. Another red flag to me. At the end of seeing what I have in my home currently, he gave his sales pitch. He gave the model info, and repair/replace options. I told him what I was interested in, and he in turn said he would contact me to schedule a time within a week or two. I waited the time frame and never heard from them. My thought process is if you want my business, you can call me. I am not going to chase you down. After that time frame I contacted another company for a quote. They were prompt to arrive. They did as they said they would. I didn't hear bashing of any sort. Or what seemed like anger towards other people and companies. They came in and did what they said they would do. They even beat D&M's price. I would consider the red flags, and then the no follow up for my appointment. It's very unprofessional. Go to other installers. I am glad it worked out the way it did in the end.

Confirmed & repaired my problem, advised the repair would last a year on the 18 year old (obsolete first generation design) unit that I want to replace next season anyhow. No sales pressure. They answered questions about my other plans and offered a quote knowing it wasn't an immediate consideration and they got back to me the following day. Again, no pressure, no upsell.

STI Heating & Air Conditioning saved me so much money! I had another HVAC company looked at my…read morecentral air unit because it was blowing lukewarm air. The other company told me I needed a new compressor for $1699 and they took only cash. After a repairman ran off with $453 of my aunt's cash, I decided I did not feel comfortable giving the HVAC repairman $2000 (with labor) in cash. So, I told him I would seek a second opinion. I called STI Heating & Cooling who were booked for the week so I made an appointment for the following week. Ted arrived on time and was very professional. He took a look at my unit (which is 42 years old) and told me I needed a Hard Start Capacitor for $173. He also checked the amount of Freon (R22) told me I might need a little. He installed the capacitor and added a little Freon and my unit start blowing extremely cold air. Ted's work was great! He told me his father had an old unit like mines and he keeps him father's unit working. I told Ted the other repairman thought I needed a new compressor and Ted suggested maybe the other repairman was not familiar with older units like mine. I am SO glad I called STI Heating & Cooling! I told Ted they are now my go-to company for ALL my HVAC activities. I would highly recommend this company - they proved to be a huge money saver for me.
