Busy place. Able to find seat at bar. Wait staff pretty non-existent. Grabbed menu from another patron after no acknowledgement for nearly ten minutes. Waitress was direct, curt, not friendly or social. Checked in on once. Another waitress took one of our finished plates but didn't say a word to us. Had to wave card to finalize bill and get to go box. Not absolutely sure good food balances out cruddy service. ***update*** Staff saw post and replied with nice apology. Was on vacation down the road & got a serious craving for some BBQ. Being in the Castle Rock area, I wasn't expecting much at all. Not wanting to cook won out in this debate. Had my daughter look up reviews & this place had the best. Ok, we'll give it a shot. We had my 5yo grandson with us & she hadn't noticed it was a brewery. After some debate we decided to get an order to go. The food was flat out delicious! The Cajun shrimp was full of flavor & soaking the bread in the pot licker was all wonderful. I had the pork BBQ sandwich & absolutely loved it. Well worth the drive & the price. I can't imagine it getting any better in a 40 mile radius. read more

The smell when you walk in is intoxicating. I could sit at a table and just breathe and be happy. If you don't like bbq I suppose it's not for you. But that's like saying you don't like breathing. While in he area for work I jumped on Yelp to find a decent place to grab lunch. Since the ratings were high on this place I figured I would give it a try. I have to be honest I did drive by once and thought there was no cars in the lot it can't be that good. After driving around I decided I would give it a try and went back and this time there was more cars in the lot. To me cars in the lot is a sign of must have food. Upon entering it was rather dark in there and there was a few people there for early lunch. The blonde bartender wasn't overly friendly and I was only going in for take out since I had a drive back to OR. I ordered the brisket sandwich with fries. I have to say it was pretty good. The meat was flavorful and tender, kinda wanted more sauce on the meat to add some zing to it but took it to go so no extra sauce. The fries were hot but certainly could have used a little longer in the dryer since they were kinda limp. But they were fresh cut fries which are way better then the frozen fake fries. If I am in the area again I would eat here again and try something different. The reason for the 4 stars is the blonde bartender probably needed a little more coffee to wake up and be a tad more friendly and the almost not cooked fries mixed in with my semi cooked fries. read more

I've been here twice. The food is good, borderline great even, but not spectacular and while I definitely have had better, it's not been in this town. The environment leaves a lot to be desired, and I think this weighs in a lot to my rating and opinion of this place. Entering through a beer/wine store (they may also have liquor, but I didn't check), the restaurant is in the back. Amazing bbq food! Ribs were fall off the bone, the fries were amazing, pulled pork was delicious! The food is so good here, it's just amazing in every way! I would recommend anyone who loves bbq to go here! The service however, not amazing for me personally. We were super happy with our experience at Hop-N-Grape. This is just the type of place I was looking to discover during my tips back home to Longview. The dining area is nice, clean and comfortable, the service was good, the food was tasty, and the draught beer options were great. We ordered the fried mac and cheese, the salmon chowder (so yummy!) and the brisket sandwich with fries (loved the fries!). After lunch, we headed over to the cooler to pick out some beer to take home. The options were endless and did not disappoint. We will be back during our next trip to Longview, for sure. I'm not giving this place 5 stars because I don't know that it's the type of beer place I would want to go and just hang out and have beer, but it's definitely good sharing a meal or picking up a 6 pack. read more

With a Jname and like Hop-N-grape, I thought I could get a wine tasting. But that was not to be. However, our waitress offered to bring small samples of their red's. We stopped in here on a bit of a whim while driving through Longview looking for something to eat. And i have to say, we found a real hidden gem. We've eaten here twice now and been quite impressed both times. Their Mac and cheese is made in house, and it is DELICIOUS. Creamy, cheesy, hot fresh perfection. Their meats are smoked and full of flavor, especially the pulled ones. Their Cuban sandwich is delicious, and my boyfriend loves their Reuben. And they have a nice selection of local beer on tap. Speaking of which, they also have a store within the restaurant, and it is packed with more local beer, wine, and cider than I've ever seen anywhere else. It's a craft brew lover's dream! This is one we will definitely be returning to again and again. Delicious house-made food, a wide selection of local beer, what more can you ask for? As an aside, the only reason for the docked star is that the pork ribs are terrible. I have tried them on two occasions and both times they have been tough as shoe leather. Like something you'd give to your dog to gnaw on for a few hours. I don't know if the boss/owner/head chef/whomever just prefers them that way, or if they genuinely don't know how to prepare ribs properly. Either way, I'd steer clear of the ribs here if i were you. Everything else is delicious though! I'd give five stars easily if they'd fix the rib issue. read more

Really sweet spot in Longview! For lovers of really good beer and solid bbq, this is a sure bet. I think it's fair to say they have a beer for everyone's palette and a menu item to satisfy a wide range of hankerings. Tonight I had the slow cooked ribs, amazing Mac and cheese and slaw. The ribs were super meaty, well sauced, really moist and fell completely off the bone. Paired it with a nice IPA and I was in heaven. I don't understand the rules about no minors. We stopped for lunch, the teenage grandchildren and ourselves thought the reviews for the BBQ sounded like just what we wanted. No one else was even in the place as far as we could see, but after reading the sign on the the door that said "no minors" we left and had to find somewhere else to go. Just disappointing. This was definitely a very interesting experience. We must have driven by this place many times and never knew it was a restaurant, let alone a BBQ place. The front of the Pub serves as a wine and beer making supply store. The back is the restaurant with TVs around the wall. We loved the BBQ. The brisket and pork were especially delicious and tender. I'm so excited to see that Longview has a place like this! We're always driving around aimlessly looking for a place that isn't a gross dive bar, Chinese food, or fast food. Hop-N-Grape is partial brew supply and restaurant with plenty of beer and wine on tap. Dick's Raspberry Tripel....holy mother it's delicious! They have beer in 10 and 16 oz glasses, which is great because I'm kind of a wimp when it comes to drinking an entire pint of beer. Now, for the food - we were pleasantly surprised! The peppercorn mac n cheese was absolutely delicious, so I recommend you get that for a side. My mother in-law didn't care much for the coleslaw, and I don't care for coleslaw so I didn't taste it. I got a pulled pork sandwich and it came with two containers of some sort of tangy BBQ sauce. I am honestly not sure what's going on with the sauce but I didn't care for it. I ended up putting some BBQ sauce that we had in the fridge on my sandwich. Otherwise, the service was fine, nothing out of this world. Food and drinks came quick and they have plenty of people on staff, it looks like. We paid around $50 for two beers and three meals.
