Kids slider and fries my son devoured it. Fries were also WOW

What an amazing discovery! This super unassuming smokehouse had me questioning a lot of things in my life. For instance, why isn't there anything remotely as good in portland? Did I order enough? I definitely didn't order enough I should order more, was what I was thinking the whole time. After our trip to Seattle on our way back my family was getting quite hungry. We've never been in Longview before but chose Hop-n-grape because we primarily lack good BBQ close to home. We were BLOWN away. Our server Elissa was really the cherry on top. She was kind, helpful, gave us great advice for when we come back. We ordered kids Mac and cheese (best Mac and cheese ANYWHERE), kids slider and fries, combo platter and a Philly with au jus on the side (thank you Elissa for the rec!!) the au jus made me want to cry. The brisket made me want to cry, everything we had on our table was so unassumingly great. This hole in the wall with a seven seating area at the bar, a dozen and a half tables or so, and an attached wine/beer store is worth the drive with family from Portland. I also cannot express enough thanks to Elissa for her patience and generosity with my 2 kids. We left with full belly's and not a scrap of food on any plate.

Worst Bbq I've ever had! Tiny portions of old, dry, flavorless meat. Literally fead it to my dog. It had been several years since I had eaten there. Loved the turkey back then and the rolls were homemade. Not anymore! The baked beans were the only edible item and they were basically overcooked Bush's from a can. Shredded beef brisket? Just gross.

Smokehouse ribs, red potato and bacon salad, and pepper jack mac and cheese.

Good service, cozy atmosphere, average prices, decent quality meats. All sides were delicious, overshadowing the meats. The meats were a disappointment. Not much of a smokehouse flavor. My ribs appeared to be rubbed generously, but barely had any flavor. There are only two options of bbq sauce, vinegar based or mustard based. While both made the meat better, it does not substitute for a well smoked piece of meat. My wife has the combo platter, and portions of brisket and pulled pork were adequate. She had the same complaint of very limited natural flavors, and the sauce helped where it shouldn't be needed. Overall, not a terrible place, just not a great place for bbq connoisseurs.

We've been here a few times before. It's local for us and a welcome break from all the Chinese & Mexican places in our area. The bar/restaurant is always clean, tidy and well presented. (The tables have 3 bottles of sauce on each one, and they've always been clean, not sticky or greasy). Today we had a late lunch around 3pm. There was 1 waitress to help us and 2 other guests. We were greeted, watered right away and then given enough time to choose what we wanted. Food came up in a reasonable amount of time. Then we were forgotten about. Hubby got a Mac Bowl with pulled pork (their macaroni and cheese is epic!) and I had their Reuben sandwich with a side of red potato w/bacon salad. My Reuben was very good but the salad lacked flavor in my opinion. There was a lot of it so I brought it home to work some magic on it for tomorrow). Hubby liked the pulled pork but to me, it lacked flavor and wasn't quite as tender compared to most. This type of cuisine is typically salty so having water refills would have been nice. The waitress must've needed more time to talk on her phone. I don't like being negative but I'm personally obliged to be honest, although it's still "just my opinion ".

We've been frequenting this place for many years now. Why? Not because their customer service is amazing (It's just ok), but because of the Mac and Cheese. The restaurant is nothing special. The interior is always dark. It feels like a western saloon. Half of the building is the restaurant, the other half looks like a bottle shop, though I've never checked it out. Like I said, customer service isn't bad, but they have never been over the top friendly. I have no complaints with that aspect. The Food: the Mac and cheese is just about the most amazing Mac and cheese I have ever had. It's is cheesy and so creamy and rich. I'd recommend, regardless of what you get as an entree, make this your side. On a low carb diet? Well, this is the cheat meal you deserve! The BBQ is just alright. Sure, it is tender. Sure, they don't skimp on the meat. But, where they may lack in flavor, they lather it up with a lot of BBQ sauce. So, if you're into that, this is your BBQ. Salmon chowder is decent. The wife loves it! Come on by and check out this place. I'd say it's worth it if you want some decent food, and out of this world Mac and Cheese.

We stopped here tonight as our son in law suggested we meet for dinner. When we arrived, we walked in the door to be greeted by the beverage market guy...who told us that there were some beer tastings going on next to the smokehouse entrance. We tried several of the Avery Brewing and Michigan Brewhouse. Both breweries had some great varieties and we left with a couple of our favorites when we left. The gentleman doing the tastings was very informative and friendly. In fact, I don't like beer, but he suggested that I try 2 different ales that were fruity, and those were the two 6-packs we left with...in fact, I ordered one on tap to go along with my dinner instead of the cider, which is what I normally have! Okay...now to dinner. We all ordered something different. My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich, I ordered the 3 sliders-1 smoked chicken, 1 pulled pork, and the other the smoked brisket. They came with coleslaw and I ordered the fries as my side. The chicken was a little dry to my liking, but everything else was really tender and flavorful. Our daughter had the Cobb salad and her husband had the Cuban. Everything was delicious. I was a little hesitant to believe the Mac n cheese hype, but it really is THAT good! Cheesy and creamy goodness!! Some of the reviews talk about the service lacking. We had a friendly server, and while she didn't come back minute by minute, she checks back multiple times to see if we needed anything else, and was quick to bring what we asked for. We enjoyed our first visit, and we can pretty much guarantee it won't be our last...though I do wish they had an outside seating area to enjoy today's sunshine! That would've completed the perfect meal! Haha

Best barbecue in town. The combo platter is my favorite dish and goes great with their extensive tap list.

Place was half full (maybe 10 customers), and the waiter was already so frazzled that he was kinda rude/abrupt - he just could not handle the 10 customers in the bar and dining. No food was coming out of the kitchen, and we watched the table next to us get up and leave after waiting for an hour and only getting an anemic looking single appetizer, and still waiting for drinks. They were upset, but we stayed because we were not in a hurry. The food was terrible. Waited an hour for an unceremonious plate of six or so dumplings the size of Hershey's kisses. That charcuterie plate other reviews talked about? It took 45 minutes and was very disappointing. I'll post a photo. We heard the waiter and cook cursing at each other- not good. Nice beer list, weak wine list. The Pinot Noir is Wine by Joe. Don't go.
