Oxygen tank needed by our pet at the follow up vet (not HOPE).

In April 2025, I brought my pet to this clinic for treatment. During the visit, she was left without oxygen support and was visibly gasping for breath. I was devastated to see her in that state. They pre-charged me over $5,000 for care and insisted she stay overnight with IV fluids and for more tests, even after a call that she was better according to the vet. Unfortunately, her condition worsened during the stay. When I took her to another veterinary hospital shortly after, the follow-up veterinarian immediately removed the IV, explaining that it was doing my pet harm. They also told me there could have been a simpler alternative treatment that would not have required an overnight stay. After evaluating her, the second veterinarian advised that euthanasia was the most humane option. I reported these concerns to the clinic by email and to management but received no follow-up. The veterinarian only contacted me after I initiated a chargeback with my credit card company, which the clinic disputed. I am still extremely upset about this experience and the impact it had on my beloved pet. I would like to see the clinic take accountability and make this right -- both for me and so other clients don't experience something similar. I am open to discussing a fair resolution directly with the clinic.

I'm not sure why this vet clinic has low stars but when I had to bring my baby in for an emergency they took great care in monitoring him. Every time I called to do a wellness check they were able to give me updates oh him. After 24 hour monitoring and care I was able to bring him home. Not sure what lies ahead in his future but all I know if that he has a chance for one! I'm so thankful for the Hope team for taking care of him.

The $109.25 for 15 minutes of CPR = $7.23 a minute. YOURE KIDDING RIGHT?!

Ok ... well this is not based on 1 review. 5 yrs before this happened. I took my cat in on a late Thursday night. That was when he had his first heart issues. Since it was Covid we weren't allowed in. I sat in the car for about 3 hrs with my son bawling our eyes out because there was ZERO communication at this time. All they could say was .. wait for the morning for more tests BUT the male doctor on duty basically said to me in the most emotionless half ass "why am i even speaking to you voice"... prepare for your cat to "die" I came back the next morning as soon as they opened and took him to Just Cats in Reston where we normally go. They were SOOOOOO CARING. And said... yeah that doctor doesn't have good bedside manners we are sorry you went through that. Nuff said.

Saved my cat from intestinal cancer (small cell lymphoma). The team was great during the pandemic and Dr. Connor is the best!

The penny that came out of our puppy Stella

Our Stella swallowed a penny last night , not knowing if it was Cooper it could be dangerous . We brought her in to the hospital immediately, we were greeted by Breana she was so kind and caring . I explained the situation she got Dr. Sholes immediately, what a terrific Dr. she was calm , caring and took Stella immediately because the shot to induce the object needs to be done in a certain time frame . Her bed side manners made me very confident in whatever she needed to do. Within 10 minutes Shannon came out with the biggest smile , had the penny in her hand and said Stella is good now , wow that was fast and so comforting . While being in the office it was very busy but never once did Breana or Stephanie ever show stress , I was impressed they multi tasked very well . I'd give this hospital 10 stars if I could , what a terrific team Stella was helped by last night , thank U all .

Our dog is Dr McMillan's oncology patient at Hope's Oncology practice and he also has visited the ER a couple times. We cannot speak highly enough of the care team here - great staff, techs and vet. They all really care about their patients and their owners, and they try to make a tough situation a lot better. We are deeply grateful for their knowledgeable, compassionate and loving care of our boy.

Emma's eyes have improved tremendously from Dr Adkins' care and treatment.

I eventually had to leave my dog after requesting another groomer and speaking with a manager. I noticed the next day that my pup had a cut on the pad part of her paw. When I called, I spoke to the store manager named Maggie. All she gave me was excuse, no apology. Saying that if they saw a problem or injury, they would stop services. But with the poor attitude of Julie and her behavior towards me, I don't believe that she would have stopped services. And after hearing how the manager basically disregarding my concerns, I think that this store and their groomers are not going ppl. If I could give zero stars, I would. Julie hurt my dog. And Maggie did not accept an ounce of responsibility for her worker. This actually makes me sad. That they would behave like this to innocent animals.

I was told the rabies vaccination for my dog expired, so I changed my day around to go get his vaccine same day. When I went to the vet, I learned that the vaccine had not actually expired. Do not go to this location because if they can talk to a person this way, I'd question how your pet gets treated too

As a consumer, I do not appreciate being told that my reviews are slanderous or for the owner to continue going back and forth with me over an issue I had, while still not addressing the issues I had as a consumer. Below is the correspondence that I received from the owner. Note to all: read your contract. I'm not disputing this company's billing policy, but know that you will be charged for services prior to actually having the service and if the services are cancelled (whether by the company or you) you will not receive a refund but a credit. Just be forewarned. ******* Honestly Tracy, If you update it or not that is up to you. All the info about those policies is public on our website and clients sign our agreement before they begin service so if they do not like that aspect they know from the beginning. I do not need further response I just wanted to make sure your comment on us not refunding your money was not something out of our policies as your review makes it sound as if we just took your money for nothing. As I have reviewed your account it does not appear we took any money beyond the services you requested. Your account has been closed and we wish you the best. Thanks, Your Dog Smiles Pet Services ******* I will review the contract and if it states no refunds then I will indicate that however I will not retract my review. There are others that may be looking for a service and not like this aspect and as a consumer I want other consumers to be forewarned. As a customer/consumer of your services, I feel that yet again this is a back and forth issue rather than a business handling an issue that a customer stated. The facts are the facts and if I feel a certain way about an issue and let you(the business) aware of it, rather than go back and forth about the specifics, recognize that that is your practice and you won't change it and that I (as a consumer) will take my business elsewhere to accommodate my needs. This is not personal and as I stated before, I have had wonderful experiences with the sitters with this company. I'm just not keen on the billing, and if that's something in writing then I have the choice and option to take my business elsewhere. Thank you very much for being prompt in your response. I will update my review to include that this info was in my contract (upon second review) and update that aspect accordingly. ******* Yes that is what we do. It's on our website and in our agreement that you signed. And your credit was used in future services. I am sorry but that is not what your review says. In fact I consider what your review says to be slander. ******* Hi Colleen, You didn't hold the deposit but I paid for service that wasn't rendered due to weather and when I requested a refund was told only credit was given. ******* Hi Tracy, Please see below and attached photo. I don't see that we ever help any deposit for any of your services.

It has taken me about a month to be able to write this review so that I can try to be as objective…read moreas possible, and to dissipate the anger I felt upon my return home. The good news is -- my dog was still alive when we returned from a cruise. Stephan provided in-home care in our home the greater Palm Springs area while we were away. Because our dog appeared to be okay, we give 2 stars ("it could have been better") instead of 1 ("Not good"). (Frankly, I'm being generous). That's the good news. The bad news is: * Our home was pristine when we left. It was dirty when we returned home. Filthy, really. Off-white rug was strewn with lawn debris and a visible track of foot traffic and dirt appeared where it had never been before between the sofa and the back door. The kitchen, where cooking had occurred, had not been wiped up, dishes in the sink. The sofa was disheveled and 'lived-in' with an odor that required steam cleaning to remove. Our ordinarily pristine home was in general disarray in every room, and the house emitted a mysterious, but pungent smell. There appeared to have been no attempt whatsoever to clean up his own mess or to straighten the house in anticipation of our return. * We came home a couple of hours earlier than expected to find not only a home we had to re-clean in order to resume normal life, but multiple windows and doors open and the A/C on (presumably to air out the mysterious stench). * The cost for this service, requiring up-front payment, was nearly double what others charge in the area, but we (perhaps stupidly) believed the many 5-star ratings. We did not receive 5-star service. * The pre-prepared and measured food for our dog's daily meals was only partially consumed. * Our housekeeper came by at her scheduled time (by accident, forgetting we had cancelled her visit during our trip), but was not able to enter since no one answered the door, despite the petsitter telling us that he 'never left the house' or our dog alone. * Our dog, who is normally very friendly and approachable, appeared skittish in photographs during our trip -- tail down, ears back, avoiding rather than approaching and playful. I noted it during one text exchange with the petsitter and was told that 'this dog is NOT scared.' I beg to differ. I know my dog. * The patio plants, which we agreed would be watered daily (desert), were bone dry and wilted when we arrived, requiring immediate attention, although the hose was stretched across the lawn, presumably from some earlier use while we were gone. * In addition, the petsitter had many demands for his own comfort and convenience, which were 100% provided. The same courtesy was not returned to us, even though we discussed very clear expectations for both our dog and our home prior to our departure. * Our planned departure for a cruise was delayed for about an hour because the petsitter locked himself out of his car in the street, requiring a plan to avoid having his car towed. We allowed him to park in our garage vs. the guest parking lot. Rather than making our departure and trip less stressful, we found ourselves being more stressed because of the petsitter's own challenges, both before and during the trip and especially after. We had several conversations and a couple of site visits prior to the trip to introduce Stephan to our dog and to clarify the assignment(s). I wrote a detailed list of Q&A to guide any questions that might have arisen, including providing multiple vets and emergency contacts. I had reservations about some of my observations pre-departure, but we had already paid a non-refundable deposit of $500 and we were out of time to arrange anyone else. At a cost of $1500 per week for housesitting/pet sitting, I expected far better and more and got substantially worse and less than what we had discussed and reasonably expected. I'm just glad our dog was generally okay. Hence, 2 stars instead of 1. I wish I could report a 5-star experience and recommend this company and sitter to others. Unfortunately, I cannot.

Wow... I realized today I didn't know what a "good" vet experience was until I came to Vienna…read moreAnimal Hospital. You really don't know what you don't know. I've had a terrible experience with another vet in Fairfax and decided to give this place a try after 2 people recommended it. The doctor allowed me to be with my dog as she checked up on him and treated him. Both the doctor and the staff tried their hardest to ensure my dog was feeling comfortable by giving him treats so he could warm up to them, and some gravy to distract him as they were drawing blood. The doctor was also courteous, patient, clear in communication and explanations, and ensured that I was also comfortable along with my dog. At the previous vet, I had to be the proactive one as they did not check my dog even for regular things due at an annual checkup (e.g., heartworm) despite taking my dog in for the annual checkup. Moreover, they didn't notify me of vaccines that were set to expire in a couple weeks. At Vienna Animal Hospital, the doctor spent time with me to go through my dog's medical record and vaccines, pointed out which ones that were set to expire soon, and which ones she thought wasn't needed. She didn't push me to buy things I didn't need or want. It was overall such a great experience. Very happy with the care here!!

It should be no star at all for this business. We began to have Vienna Animal Hospital taking care…read moreof our two dogs and three cats starting at more than twenty years ago. My pets were lucky because for about 12 years they had Dr. Wolf who was absolutely professional and compassionate. Unfortunately, Dr. Wolf passed away when my youngest ca, Paung, was 8 years old. About 9 months ago. Paung was diagnosed with hyperthyroid. The drug they gave us to control Paung's thyroid was expired. I didn't notice the expiration date until 5 days later. So for 5 days my cat was taking expired medicine. After that I decided to try to get the same medicine form Amazon, but it required the vet to fax in a prescription. I called the Vienna animal Hospital to remind them to send in the prescription, the receptionist said they would have the Dr. do it. But a week passed and nothing was done, Amazon finally sent me a notice saying the order was cancelled. On March 20th, 2026. Paung, who was almost 17 year old, was exhibiting signs of pain. We thought he was having constipation since he had a few similar episodes before. But this one seemed to be worse. So we made an 8:00 a.m. appointment with Dr. Chervez at Vienna Animal Hospital. We arrived 5 minutes early. As we waited, we saw three other 8:00 a.m. appointments being admitted into patients rooms. 5 minutes passed 8:00, my husband asked the receptionist what was going on. She said since we'd arrived 5 minutes early, it was normal for us to wait. Meanwhile my cat was distressed and crying constantly. Another 15 minutes passed, we asked if the Dr. was available, they said he was, just delayed. We didn't know what that meant. Was he there or he had not arrived yet. But the receptionist didn't seemed to know. We finally decided to leave. On our way out, I told the front desk that they were not very professional. They answer was "OK" with a shrug of their shoulders. We had to go to another vet since Paung was obviously in pain, but there was no appointment available until 1:00 p.m. It turned out Paung's kidneys had failed and he was euthanized 2 days later. Our hearts are broken because of the passing of a beloved pet who'd given us love and comfort for more than 15 years. But what we are having a hard time to accept the fact that Vienna Animal Hospital had made Paung suffer unnecessarily in the final days of his life. I don't believe they have the uttermost professionalism, compassion and empathy required as a veterinarian hospital.
