    "Jake" Isdell Vom Iver Hafen July 19, 2005 - July 8, 2018
    Martin S.

Our boy Jake developed Degenerative myelopathy (DM) and had reached a point where his quality of life was severely degraded. He could no longer walk on his own and had become incontinent. This was very distressing for us and for him because he was obviously still aware and alert but could not comprehend why these changes were happening to him. We contacted Dr. Badgett for end of life care. She was so very compassionate to our pack's distress. When the time finally came for Jake to start his new adventure, Dr. Badgett provided a wonderful calm and sense of peace to this very emotional event. The whole pack was present and everyone got to say their goodbyes. We were there to hold our boy and let him know all would be okay for him. We watched as he went comfortably to everlasting rest, his purpose fulfilled. It impacted everyone. His littermate, Elwood, the lieutenant of the pack nuzzled his brother and howled for a long time the whole pack joined in to send Jake's soul on its way into our hearts. Jake is remembered in Memory Eternal. Being in a familiar family environment at the end of a beloved pet's life is a vastly superior situation than tying to get a dying pet into a Veterinarian's office. No matter how it is decorated, it is not home. We offer our highest possible recommendation for Dr. Beth Badgett to assist your pack with hospice end of life care and home euthanasia.

    Mikko

When our beloved husky Mikko suffered a pericardial effusion, we got him the immediate care he needed to be comfortable, but knew it was only a short window before the pain would return. Frustrated and failed by other at-home euthanasia services, I finally found Dr. Beth. I was so reassured by our call, as it was clear she understood the urgency of Mikko's situation and the turmoil we all felt. Even though we were devastated by the circumstances, it was uplifting to be in her care. She dropped everything to come that same day, guiding us with compassion, humor, and humanity. It was the best version of a bad situation. Despite the job description, Dr. Beth is a life saver.

Our dog Joey was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy 1.5 yrs ago. Saying goodbye to our gentle giant Joey after 9.5 years together was one of the toughest things we have ever had to do. We are so grateful to Dr. Beth for providing us the most peaceful way to send Joey across to the rainbow bridge, and are so appreciative that she was able to work with us so quickly after we knew it was time. Though we are devastated from the loss of our first baby, we take solace that Joey passed in our backyard, his favorite place, while surrounded by love. I can't recommend Dr. Beth enough and after going through this experience, truly believe that sending our babies on to the next step at home, if possible, is the greatest gift we can give them.

Ziggy - Forever in our hearts. 2012-2023

We were referred to Dr. Badgett from our vet (Hunter Mill Animal) when our 11yr old Ridgeback, that had been battling cancer, began to quickly decline in health. We really wanted to let him go peacefully at home but everyone we called was booked. Thankfully Dr. Badgett worked us into her busy schedule and came out the same day. She was so kind and compassionate which made a such a sad time for our family much more peaceful. Things she said to our family made our kids understand why we had to let our boy go and made them feel better about the decision, they knew they were helping to end his suffering. The ultimate gift of love. Thank you Dr. Badget for being there for our family in our time of need.

Our rescue Old English Sheepdog fractured her leg from bone cancer and we were so fortunate to come across Dr. Beth on a whim for in home euthanasia. She was exceptionally kind and professional from start to finish, dropping everything to be with us quickly after a brief phone call, and taking her time to allow us to say goodbye to our sweet girl without being rushed. You could tell that this part of her practice is one she does thoughtfully as well as seriously, and she truly made the best case scenario out of one of the worst situations we could ever imagine ourselves in. She even checked in with us the following day to let us know we were in her thoughts, which is way above and beyond anything we have ever experienced with another veterinarian. Bottom line, we can't recommend Dr. Beth enough, and we're extremely grateful we found her during such an awful and difficult time.

My little guy was 21+ yrs old, battled arthritis for 6 + years, but recently he and I knew it was time. A few times over the years when he had some other set backs, I thought about what would be the best option when the time came, and I imagined how I would like it to be. Dr. Beth provided a service that met and exceeded the way I had hoped for. Peaceful, patient, understanding, extra steps for his comfort and handled with care. The most emotional decision in my life, but no regrets and tranquil memories. He left this life in peace, love and dignity.......I am forever thankful.

Like so many others have stated, Dr. Beth is amazing and is an angel looking out for our fur babies. Our 6.5 year old golden, Kairi, was diagnosed with Mast Cell Tumor in August. He had been receiving chemotherapy to try to fight it. When we noticed Kairi didn't seem like himself, we took him to the emergency vet and found out his cancer had spread. We decided to bring him home and spend what little time he had left together. We reached out to Dr. Beth that night and heard back shortly after. I couldn't believe how quickly we heard back given that it was a Friday night! I ended up reaching out early the next morning when we noticed the end seemed a lot sooner than we expected. Dr. Beth was again quick to respond and let us know she was concerned Kairi had started the dying process. Upon talking to Dr. Beth, we discovered she was actually off and her family was in town - however, she felt connected to us and agreed to meet us later that morning. Dr. Beth asked us to tell her stories about Kairi (and his brother Riku) and share pictures of them. She also took the time to make sure she was pronouncing both their names correctly (which are not common or easy). We couldn't have asked for a better way to say goodbye and next to one of his favorite places, the lake. Dr. Beth gave us space and let us know to take as much time as we needed with him. It breaks my heart to think of what we would have done had Dr. Beth not agreed to meet us. I wish all fur babies had someone like her to help them cross over. When it came time to transfer Kairi, Dr. Beth again went above and beyond. She handled him with such care while wrapping him in a blanket and in making sure how he was positioned in her car. We are heartbroken and miss our sweet boy so much. We have commented several times how at peace we felt with our last day with him and how he crossed the rainbow. It made grieving our loss a little easier. It was stress free and in one of his favorite places and we could tell he seemed at peace the whole time. After Kairi's passing, Dr. Beth kept in touch with us and felt like we had known her for years. You can tell Dr. Beth truly loves what she does and her passion to help both fur babies and their humans. Thank you, Dr. Beth

Dr. Beth's recommendation. We love it!

My initial call was taken with care and patience as I cried the whole way thru it to make the appointment. I answered a series of questions, and the intake representative was sensitive to my emotions. One thing I noted was that they asked if we would mind the vet coming early if she was free earlier than our appointment time. I thought that was very considerate! We were originally scheduled with a different doctor but got reassigned to Dr. Kamilah who turned out to be perfect for us. She came right on time (to the minute, I think), and her manner was so calming. She took the time to let us talk about Duke so she could get to know him a bit before doing anything. She gave us space when we needed it and she was kind, understanding, and patient with us because we struggled A LOT preparing for the time to start the process. She talked us through everything and made sure we were ready to proceed before moving forward each step of the way. She was so gentle and caring. Even after the procedure was finished, she was so gentle when taking Duke's paw print, shaving some fur for us to keep, and moving him. Another thing I'll never forget is how she was so considerate when letting us know Duke was no longer with us. She said, "he's at peace." and I thought that was very kind rather than "he's gone" or something less delicate. Dr. Kamilah acknowledged how hard it was and made us feel comfortable being so emotional. She let us cry and love on Duke for as long as we wanted. She was absolutely wonderful and I can't express enough how grateful I am for the support she showed our family on one of the hardest days of our lives. I am forever thankful for Lap of Love and Dr. Kamilah.
