Now the facility itself looks like an old large house. Enter through the front entrance as some of the entrances there are signs up that it is private resident living (assuming it is a shared property or perhaps one of people that helps run it live in that unit). You wIll be greeted by the person working the phone and computer system and they will inform you cats on the first door on your left and straight back for the dogs. When I first walked through to greet the dogs and give them some love and them me my heart sank a bit as it definitely looks and feels like they need a home to fill up the love. I tried to pet all of them, approx eight to ten dogs total. Seriously thinking of getting more involved as my favorite charity and probably only charity I donate to be honest is for animal welfare. If you can spread some hugs, towels, clean linens, animal beds, unopened pet food, or a monetary donation it will go a long way and I appreciate you supporting a cause close to my heart. They all were anti-social and needed a load of attention that we assumed that their previous owners just were mean to them. The three we got here, only one relaxed and found out we weren't like their 1st owners but the other two were not violent but they were not good family dogs but those are the chances you take in rescuing an animal. It was not the SPCA's fault they were that way but many would blame the shelter and that is not right. But what in the world is right today??

As we were going to get into the car I noticed that the driveway was blocked by a utility truck. By the time I finished talking with the driver and he was able to move the truck, it was two minutes past the scheduled time for the appointment, so I called the vet clinic and told them what had happened, and that I would be 10 minutes late. I was informed that they were voiding my appointment and keeping my deposit. If I wanted to reschedule, they would require another deposit.

Now this is a corporate office that couldn't care a damn. My 3 month old puppy took ill yesterday after taking medication they prescribed and I thought she was dying. I called and begged to have her seen and was told to take a hike. She couldn't be seen for days because they didn't have an appointment open. If they are the vet taking care of my pup and they are the ones responsible for her health, under their care they should shuffle things to get 16 minutes somewhere to help in an emergency !!!

They do amazing work and I'm so glad that they have this café so we can come and support them. Entry fee was $15. You can pay online or at the door. This place is so warm and friendly. So many volunteers happy to introduce you to all the residents! The cats are happy! They love visitors and many love to be held, play and enjoy some treats. They have multiple couch's to sit on. There is an adult cat area and the kitten room. Only a limited number can enter the kitten room at once. There are complimentary treats for guests and resident kittys.. The cats have a gum-ball machine filled with treats . There is a free snack area, coffee and tea bar, and a stocked refrigerator full of sodas and water. The decor is PURRFECT. So many cool things pieces of decor throughout the cafe. The bathroom decor is hilarious. Instead of posting photos, I'm gonna post a video that I made for my personal social media. I feel like it truly captures how special this place is. Also, if you are inclined, you can message to see what food they are in need of then you can bring that to donate to their efforts. Last note, it is street parking only. There is a cemetery about a half a block away and there was plenty of street parking available there.

Submitted (electronic) application on October 9, application was approved October 14, kittens selected October 18. The application process was straightforward. It asks for personal references, probes for pet history, and has pointed questions to determine if you understand how to care for a cat. I got an email the next morning saying my application looked great and they would process it ASAP. It did take until Oct 14 to get confirmation that the application was approved, and I did have to follow up to get the confirmation. It seems as though the only contact there is Shauna, the owner/operator, and she is a busy lady. We visited the cat cafe on Oct 18 to meet the prospective kittens. The cafe has a nice, comfortable, very cat friendly area to mingle with the kitties. There are nests and beds all over that the cats are just chilling out in. All the cats were friendly and well socialized. They have the kittens in a separate room to keep them from getting bullied, and that is a comfy space for cats as well. There are plenty of hideouts for the kittens, as well as toys to play with them. The kittens were mostly happy to be cuddled and picked up, with a few exceptions for very shy or wary kittens. We met Shauna, who is very friendly and knowledgeable. After selecting the kittens we wanted to adopt, Shauna asked me to email her letting her know which ones we want. They don't do same-day adoptions. All the cats are fully vetted prior to adoption: vaccinated, spayed/neutered, flea and tick treated, microchipped, and tested negative for feline aids. Considering this is done by the rescue, the $150 adoption fee per cat (or buy-one-get-one!) is extremely reasonable. Due to my schedule I won't bring the fur babies home until early November, and Shauna was more than happy to let them stay at the cafe for a couple of extra weeks.
