The Store is GREAT! I am very happy with my shopping experiences there. The biggest complaint is the music. Quite a few times, I have heard from music playing with AWFUL lyrics with constant CUSSING and CURSE WORDS. I don't enjoy shopping while hearing "Fuck You" lyrics blasting in the background. Children are in the store and shouldn't be exposed to such words, in my opinion. I hope the managers/supervisors take notice and stop this from continuing. This thrift store use to be hidden gem and became popular during covid. Which means prices have gone up so much. I still this store has some great finds. The last time i went to the store i found some dope loafers. One thing i do enjoy this store its similar to goodwill how they organize by color. They DO NOT have a dressing room so please be prepared to try on things in store. I aisle that think need more eyes on them is their records and CDs i have found gold there. They have Men's, Women, Children, Purses, Tech, Household, Fabric, and Jewelry/ They also have carts to push your hauls. I'm one of those people who believe that thrifting is more about search, and you will find something. I don't think i ever walked out of there empty handed. Please call the store to see if they are open on holidays. Most of the staff is bilingual/ Spanish speaking. When I go, I do see kids running around and playing in the aisles. There is donation booth if you want to drop anything off. Next door is an international store if you want to get a drink or quick snack. The store can be hot at times depending on the crowd. In the front they also have a vintage video game for Xbox 360 if you have that console. From one thriftier to another try shopping in the future: shop for winter coats in the summer. read more

This store has changed so much from what it used to be and I have shopped there for years. Prices have gone up so much when the items are given for free.... New ownership has hired people that do not speak English and are mostly rude to the customers. The English speaking people has now become the English speaking person and her name is Mary. Please keep her employed as she really cares about the customers in the store. The LINES are incredibly LONG because there are only 1 maybe 2 persons to check us out and it has caused customers including myself to just leave the store and I cannot believe that this is what the new management would desire for business. Again I will ask for more English speaking people and I will add that a lot of times the women who are supposed to be putting out the items are standing around together speaking Spanish and not doing their jobs. I have seen real workers that I knew by name come and go and do not know why but it would behoove the management to keep the ones who do work and are cordial to the customers and so far Mary is it that I know by name now. read more

I was just about to pick up an item to look at it.. literally had it swiped out of my hand by a man who clearly just wanted it to resell it. Men with tiny blue flash lights scanning codes.. what a horrible experience. I've been going to this thrift store for a little bit over a year now, and the quality has definitely decreased. 90% of the employees don't speak English and only speak Spanish, which makes it hard to talk to anybody, especially when you're checking out. They also have ridiculous prices for the bags behind the counter. The bag I was looking at today was $155 which is crazy for a vintage item. Not to mention, they also put a hangtag detector through the leather inside the bag puncturing a hole in the purse which automatically ruins the value. When I asked if they could discount it based on the damage, nobody could speak to me in English. I've been a loyal customer of this thrift store for over seven years and have always appreciated many of the employees. However, in the past year the shopping experience has changed dramatically -- and not for the better. This location now allows a small group of male customers to essentially "camp out" at the back of the store every single day, from open to close. These individuals are not casual shoppers; they clearly purchase purses, clothing, and accessories solely for resale. Because they are allowed to intercept new merchandise before it ever reaches the floor, regular customers -- especially women looking for handbags or accessories -- no longer have a fair chance to shop. Recently, I witnessed one of these men actively sorting through jewelry alongside an employee who was restocking. When I began to look at the same items, I was immediately told that I could not touch merchandise before it was placed on the sales floor. Yet this particular customer was permitted to do exactly that -- a blatant example of favoritism and inconsistency in store policy. I want to emphasize that many of the employees here are kind and hardworking, and I've had great experiences with them over the years. But this ongoing issue is deeply unfair and is driving away long-time customers like myself. I have been shopping this Thrift Store fore decades. I shopped the original location in the 70's! I've always loved this store. I know it's under new management and the prices have gone up quite a bit. That's fine I guess, I just laugh, and I'll just not buy the overpriced items. My real issue that I'm having is that for my last two visits, they are playing extremely loud Spanish music. If that is the cliental you are aiming for that's fine, but it's just so excessively loud, I felt like I was in a very very loud Mexican restaurant or at some Spanish death metal concert! It was so loud and so aggressive that I almost had to leave the store! Another lady in the same aisle as I was winced and said to me " this it too much!" I miss the classic rock or oldies you used to play unobtrusively. I have no problem with Spanish music, but does it have to be screaming at us? This is a wonderful thrift store. First off though, let's clear up some confusion. This is a for profit business and does not specifically serve or benefit veterans. As a for profit entity, all of their inventory is not donated. There is a pretty high volume of merchandise that goes through this store every single day. Some of that merchandise is purchased from other suppliers for resale. Everyone likes to complain about thrift store pricing. I will say that I used to be quite addicted to going here and buying quite a bit but only for myself. I felt like their prices had gotten out of control, but was uncertain as everything has gotten more expensive over recent years. However, it is accurate that their pricing overall has doubled per a period of time where the cost of living has not. This feels a little predatory considering people with limited resources are usually shipping at thrift stores. They haven't really improved anything in recent years besides updating the registers and again charging customers a fee for using a credit card. They could so badly use auto-opening doors. I always find it a bit warm in here, and that really hasn't changed. The employees at the register are almost always friendly. Some of the staff putting inventory out must have a quota to perform, because they can be very rude completely blocking the already narrow aisles especially putting out clothing. I always try to move out of their way, but gosh they just get priority over customers and that always rubs me the wrong way. I always liked shopping from the area behind the counter for small kitchen appliances, knives and electronics, but for some reason this type of inventory has been absent recently. Perhaps they are selling some items elsewhere now? Anyway, you never know what you find here, but the opportunity to find a bargain can be quite elusive for a store of the thrift variety. So, to sum it up this is a very busy thrift store with significant inventory turnover. They have discounts that change by day, but if you are looking for a bargain know your prices, or look them up, because half of the time now what I see can be purchased new for the same price, often less. Most employees are friendly and helpful, but the ones stocking clothing are often quite rude and unaware of customers. They take credit cards, but chare a premium. Cash is king here. read more

The staff are friendly however some of the shoppers can be quite unfriendly but it's balanced out by the friendly people there also looking for a good deal. I am the child of a mother who has always loved shopping and thrift stores, but it's never been a love of mine. The Thrift Store is a huge store with lots of treasures for everyone, however, it's overly priced. At least the women's section is priced higher than any thrift store I've ever visited. Of the 8 items I purchased, two will be donated (clothing items priced at $10 and $8) because the material didn't hold well after a wash. Saturdays and Sundays are deal days, but I didn't locate anything worth buying with the specified color tags. Some of the items I desired to buy were terribly stained and shouldn't have been on the floor for purchase. Overall, this store has a great weekend sale and variety of items to purchase. A few weeks ago I would've given this place 4 stars- at least. Have been going since my family moved to Jacksonville. But the last couple of visits we've been so disappointed!! The prices have skyrocketed as if they're an upscale consignment store!! What the heck? I even dropped off an old poster and by the time I was leaving it was on the floor marked at $15!! I didn't even pay $15 for it!! And they had bicycles prices at $150. The worst is the toys! What used to be a deal for $1-3 is now $15-24. Nope. I could go on all day. If you're looking for something and don't want to buy brand new THIS is your place. Even if you're not looking for something you'll find it here. The atmosphere is fun- usually some great music playing, lots of customers and staff hustling and bustling through the aisles and you can tell it's a happening local spot because customers are bumping into friends and neighbors (and strangers even!)all the time chatting and sharing stories. Check the scrolling billboard board above the register to see what color tags are on sale that day and don't miss a good bargain. Some things are a little overpriced and a lot of things have damage like chips in the dishes etc but the selection is so huge and the turnover is so high it's just a matter of time before you find something good. The only thing I wish they would do differently is sorting of the clothes (of which there are a LOT). They sort by type and not by size so you have to leaf through racks and racks of jeans or dresses and hope that you'll find your size. I can understand how it's easier for staff to refill racks and keep a sense of orderliness when they don't have to worry about size but it takes a long time to shop. read more

This is my go-to thrift store for EVERYTHING & ANYTHING. Every week, it seems it's a brand-new, stocked store. Don't know how they do it, but it allows me to treat myself and family to gorgeous clothes and home goods, for peanuts. Just amazing store... and I visit thrift stores nationwide as a hobby. This is the best thrift store I have ever shopped, anywhere. Tip- there's no dressing room, so wear bike shorts and tanks to try items on. They recently took out their mirrors due to new spacing rules. This is a real downer, and makes shopping more difficult, but it's still worth it. read more

I had to go check this place out as I had driven by it a couple times. Took my wife as she loves going to goodwill and other thrift stores. This place is huge and has lots of stuff, from clothing for all ages to lawn mowers. The strip mall where it is located looks a bit deserted and worn down. Lots of people shopping which made it a little uncomfortable. People were trying on clothes in the aisles as there are no dressing rooms. The constant reminders over the PA system about people being prosecuted if found shoplifting and how all sales are final, no refunds or returns made us want to get out as soon as possible. Ended up buying a couple of vinyl records and a hanging pot for my wife's plants and was surprised that the cashier asked to see my id if I was using a debit card. I have frequented this shop and found the staff great. The selection is usually very good. My only complaint is there are no dressing rooms. There was a mirror but that has been removed. They don't except returns so there is no way to know if clothing will fit properly. I get it. While there are a lot of items, the owner or whoever prices the items is delusional at best. Numerous items can be purchased at Walmart and even with tax be cheaper than this store. I have actually eyed an item I wanted with a blue tag only to see it changed to yellow and the price was jacked up 2 bucks. Example, an item is on sale based on color, but when you check out it's not because it's a miscellaneous item. No indication whatsoever, not always but more often than not. Thrift stores have become wise to costs and people who don't have to shop at one, do so. I think the owner uses that as a reason to jack prices. You can do better at Good Will. There are two on beach blvd in particular that have better prices and both provide proceeds to a good cause. The Thrift Store on Emerson only lines the pocket of the owner. If you really want good stuff and cheap, Betty Griffith's just over the julington creek bridge in St Johns county is Great!! Small store but doid stuff and quality too. Moreover, The Thruft store layout makes it near impossible to maneuver the aisles with a cart - very frustrating, let alone annoying. I'm still not sure why people give stuff to them when the money the owner make does not support any good cause like cancer, Alzheimer's, children's causes, etc. Nothing wrong with capitalism, but it's that old cliche - the more money someone makes, the more they want! read more
