Recently, I had a terrible experience with another local mechanic (see my reviews if you'd like to know who and avoid them) and they tightened my oil plug so unbelievably tight that when I tried to change it myself, I rounded the bolt and could not get it off. Hector got the bolt off, provided me a new one (since the one Advanced Auto sold me was wrong), and used the oil and filters I'd already bought so I didn't have to pay full price. I doubt many mechanics would do that. Plus he fit me in at the last minute. Any work I can't do myself will be going to Hector from now on!

The attendant was aware of this problem and suggested to me that that was what had happened. He said there was nothing he could do even though he was the manager. They should probably fix their pumps so that you can change your selection after accidentally bumping the wrong button with the hose. The buttons are very sensitive, and you can't change your selection unless you cancel the transaction and start over. I wonder if this is why the 89 octane cost a full dollar more than the 87 octane (the wholesale price of 89 octane vs. 87 octane is only 20 cents)? It seems like a bit of a scam to me. They got an extra $17 out of me because of this! It wouldn't take too many of these "mistakes" to increase their bottom line nicely.

No matter whether the pump is on the left or right side, all lanes are one-way. This being my first time, I didnt know that. My gas tank is on the driver side. The pumps sided for my car were full, but the pumps for the other side were empty. Logically, I decided to go with the other pumps by backing my car in. I was able to easily place my card, select my grade and begin payment. I pumped my gas, placed it on the automatic lever and got back in the car. After several minutes I realized that my tank had not stopped pumping from the automatic lever. I got out the car to see that the pump had stopped at $1.95. The screen said that the cashier canceled my transaction. I walk to the cashier window and she just stared at me. So I started the conversation sharing what happened. I asked her if she canceled the transaction. With a nasty attitude she said she did. I asked her why and she said it was because all lanes are one way. She said I needed to turn the car around. I told her it would have made more sense to have let me finish playing gas so that when I left I would be out of the way. But nope, the probability of incident and accident increased. At this time, the lines of cars to get gas were going out of the parking lot. Because I am facing "backwards" I then had to navigate through cars and pedestrians. When I went to pay at the machine through the car wash line I got an error message. My husband goes here occasionally and was with me so I thought maybe I swiped my card the wrong way. He told me to swipe it again in another direction. Again, I still received the error message so I tried another credit card to no avail. I had to go inside to get assistance. I had asked him a few questions about the machine but had a hard time understanding him. There was a communication barrier. I paid and on my receipt there was a code to type in at the machine. I went through the car wash and was not pleased with the outcome. It wasn't clean to my satisfaction (spotty in areas such as trunk lid and tires) and it didn't dry completely. Guess you get what you pay for. At the very least the dust was washed off. In a pinch I would come here but I would go elsewhere for a thorough wash.

I knew what he meant but said the city I currently live in, so he countered with "No, I mean where your parents are from." He said he knows someone who looks just like me.
