We decided that this was beyond our DIY scope and got three quotes for a bathroom, demo and remodel. Not only did Armen have a very reasonable price, but he was super involved and communicative. When the work started, Armen was checking in with me almost daily and visited my house often to make sure that the work was going as planned. Additionally, he was very flexible with the materials that I wanted used and delivered the bathroom that I wanted. We love our new room and it is one of our favorite spaces in our entire house now. Not only that, the stress of any unknown leaks or water damaged is gone which is priceless. When I almost laughed incredulously, he called the police to "complain about not paying for services" Even the cop said he was "full of Sh...t" Read my yelp review as he kept threatening (had done that BEFORE not doing any work). I have grounds to sue him but court costs would take up more than he owes me. He is actually scary and uses intimidation when maybe 5% of the work was completed (deck wash) when he demanded full payment and called police. This must be his M.O. in business. You keep referring to speaking to the homeowner which you didn't. You spoke with my daughter and communicated that way. I NEVER gave you permission to put that concrete in the road. I know better than that. This Business should not even be allowed to advertise or be in Business. This Business also goes by Built Different Construction. He broke his own contract the first day. He was supposed to be there at 8 am and showed up at 8pm. He was arrested the night before. He calls himself a contractor but let me say he started my driveway without a license and without a permit. City of Buffalo inspections put a STOP WORK ORDER in my house because of Jo permit or license. He has left my driveway a mess and winter is here. He took out the step to come into our house and put in make cheap steps that are coming apart. Yes he took $8000.00 from us. He has not been back in over a week and has not contacted us. I used him naively thinking I could get a good deal using someone who is more of a criminal than a handyman, and now I know why he gave the "great deal". He had no idea what he was doing. My floors were scratched, but original wood, and pretty, and he sanded them unevenly, missing other parts completely, and then slopped so many layers of varnish on, that eventually when those weren't drying correctly, for which he always had a great reason (it's just DUST you're seeing in those photos! don't worry! Tomorrow it will look different" and of course, they never did), so they came out looking like a second grader painted them. He refused to take responsibility, kept trying to say he was "planning to go back and fix them!" but he'd already tried to fix them 3 times and each time they got worse, and worse... And finally, publicly fabricated a story that someone "came into my house and tampered with the floors" as a way to save face. I have notorized statements from my realtor that the only person with any access to the house was Zak and himself and video footage from the house across the street that no one entered other than my realtor to take pictures, the ones enclosed, other than Zak. The man is dishonest, totally unaccountable, and psychologically unstable. He should not be allowed to interact with the public, period, let alone touch their property. Buyer beware: this man is a hack, a liar, and a thief. Absolutely nightmarish experience dealing with him, from start to finish.
