Liz and staff are super nice. Love this place! I feel so much better to be in my 40's and in full menopause.

Abruptly shut their doors with no warning. Customers were told to use their blue springs location and they have been no help.

I had a pretty great experience when I did a clinical trial here back in 2011 (maybe early 2012)…read more I'd never done a medical trial before so I wasn't really sure what to expect but I didn't necessarily expect it to be fun. After all, it was 15 days and 14 nights in a medical facility! Every study is different but the one I did allowed us to go outside (and smoke if you were a smoker) during certain hours of the day. Most hours of the day, actually. Unless they had scheduled testing, medication or meal time, we were allowed outside in a small patio area. We did have a set bed time (I believe we had to be in our beds at 9pm and all screens and lights off by 10pm) but that didn't really seem to bother anyone there because they got you up at a set time (like 6 or 7am) and everyone seemed to pass out pretty fast and sleep well. At least in the women's room. They had one big room with hospital like beds for women and one for men. There were touch screen computer monitors above each bed on an extendable arm so you could adjust it where you wanted. Access to over 500 movies on the computers and in a small theater room (with very nice, big, leather recliners and a nice sized screen). A small game room with a pool table and arcade game or two (can't remember much else about that room). A computer room where you could actually sit at a desktop and tend to any emails or work you may have to do. The facility was VERY clean and the staff was all pretty nice. They even went out and purchased some arts and crafts that some of us were wanting to do. Jewelry making kits and puzzles. Overall the experience was much better than I had anticipated and I'd definitely volunteer to do more. Some of the not so great things: *Food, snacks and drinks. All VERY strict and scheduled. Frankly, the food sucked and the drinks (ONLY with meals) were like some really weak koolaid mixture. I think they may have had some kind of juice or 1% milk for breakfast. The rest of the day...water only. Although I didn't care for this particular part of the experience, I understood they have to monitor every single minute detail of stuff like your diet so the results of the trial will be the most accurate. *The stupid scrubs you had to wear the entire time. I understood why they needed easy access to check vitals and take blood but the experience would've been more pleasant if they'd allowed us to just wear our own clothes that allowed the same access. Although, I'm sure it has to do with the fact that they have to keep it as sterile an environment as possible. *We did get called subjects. I didn't see a problem with that. Obviously, from a previous review, some people find that offensive. I understood. They didn't even call the trial drug it's name. They called it something like Z-7529w0. It was all for a reason. When they keep track of all of the volunteers, we all have a "test subject number". I'd rather be called "test subject 13842B" in their reports than my name anyway. *The worst thing about this entire experience and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the people they had drawing our blood (up to 15 times on certain days) were interns and actually learning on us. We had the choice to have a pic-line or catheter (whatever it's called) on those couple days they had to test our blood so much. It was supposed to make it much easier and less painful for us. I sat in the women's dorm and watched them try to put these things in several women and it was horrible! They ended up poking and prodding and hurting these women so much we nearly all ended up saying, "forget it, you can just stick me 15 different times every time you need blood". A lot of the women there had been IV drug users so maybe their veins were just too damaged everywhere but, either way, I really think they should have an experienced person to put those things in. Let the interns learn somewhere else! We were all handed our checks as we left that last day. There were 1 or 2 people who had to leave the trial early and, if I'm remembering correctly, they only got paid if they had stayed at least 6 days or something. And then it was pro-rated. The first few days, we weren't given any trial drug or placebo. They just monitored us to get a gauge on all our vitals before the trial drug or placebo so I guess that's why they didn't pay anything if you left before the actual trial started. I do know that if you ended up checking out early and got a pro-rated check, you couldn't get it until the scheduled date the trial was over. I know this is a very long review but I wanted to include as much as possible in case people are reading these to decide whether or not to do a trial here. I've never done a trial anywhere else so I can't compare it to others but if you're looking to make easy money, this is a great place to do it! I was actually able to buy a car just from 2 weeks off doing nothing but neing monitored. I recommend this place to people who are unemployed all the time!

I called to volunteer for a study since I had some time off during summer because I work in…read moreeducation. I answered all questions of prescreen honestly and accurately, even taking extra care to get all information precise. I was told I qualified for a study based on my medical history and was scheduled for the screening appointment and subsequent out patient appointments prior to the in person stay during the study. I made arrangements for my in house stay for pet care, personal arrangements, etc. On the eve of the screening appointment I received a call from a very rude person with no personal skills saying she canceled my appointment for the next morning stating while reviewing my file, she did not see one of my answers on the prescreen interview and therefore I did not qualify for the study. I find this very unprofessional, and unacceptable. Not only is this detrimental to the reputation of this clinical trial business, but also makes their recruitment process a joke. I will not waste my time again. Healthy volunteers for clinical trials are rare and we who are willing to be a part of a study should be treated with the ultimate of respect and professionalism. Unfortunate experience and I hope to warn others of the same.

Signed up for a slot to be seen because I was worried that I had a punctured ear drum. 7/17/2022…read more The nurse practitioner called me before I came in at 9:12am. She was very dismissive and even after hearing what happened to me the last time I had a puncture (horrible pain, horrible bilateral infection, had to have a procedure done by an ENT, 3 rounds of antibiotics, pain meds, couldn't hear, and panic attacks), told me she would not prescribe an oral antibiotic because it was too soon for an infection to have developed and "that's not how antibiotics work." She stated that even for a perforation, ear drops are not recommended. When I asked what could be the possible reason that I was in excruciating pain just 4 hrs after the rupture happened last time if infections take 2 days to develop, the response was "It doesn't look like you were seen by anyone in Saint Luke's Health System for that, so I would be unable to comment on what happened before, I can only address what's happening now." She said there would not be anything she could do for me since I did not have an infection yet. The implication was clearly "Don't come in." Not a bit of compassion. I saw a doctor at a different urgent care who told me the nurse practitioner's medical advice was INCORRECT and unprofessional. She was concerned that it was someone in her system and if it had been she would have "called and yelled at them". Her words. My drum was not perforated, yet the doctor prescribed me antibiotic ear drops prophylactically based on my history. I would not trust the bit@h you have working there to treat my DOG. In the words of Big Sean, "I don't fu$k with you, you little stupid a$$ bit@h I ain't fuc$king with you."

My mom recently spent many weeks in the ICU at Advent Shawnee Mission, and went to this facility…read morefollowing, she ended up there for 2 weeks and now she is home! The place is very clean, most of the staff is friendly(a few that were not), seems competent and knowledgeable. She had a Trach, chest tubes and more. Because this is a step down unit from the larger hospitals, it is to be expected that the care might not be as efficient as it was in the ICU... So that was something to get used to. Takes a little bit longer for the nurses to answer call lights, commode was not cleaned out right after each use, that type of thing..also my mom's main complaint was That it was loud at night, staff in the hall were not respectful of the patients in that they were loud, laughing, talking etc. Very hard to get a good nights sleep. Other than that I think this place did a good job and taking care of my mother.

We have nothing but positive things to say about Promise Hospital. Everyone we came in contact…read morewith was both professional and personal. While recovering from a car accident that required three weeks of ICU my husband was deemed stable enough to transfer to Promise Hospital. Even though things could have gone the other way, the outcome of 3 weeks stay was success. My husband walked out under his own steam. Kudos to a hospital that celebrated his success instead of their own. We would refer any member of our family to this facility.
