I just moved to town from 2,300 miles away and need self storage. I've never rented a storage unit before so have NO experience. What's to know ... you call around - get some quotes - and hope something is available for your crap. Right? I spoke with Dean - and although he is out of the area - he had me go to the facilities to "check" to see if the 10x12 unit was unoccupied. I thought this was a little strange but this facility is not "manned." After taking a look see ... I called him back and the deal was done over the phone. They had the best price in town - it's close to where I am staying - the unit is climate controlled - close to the main (key code) access door - and had a HUGE roll up door so getting items in was easy. The place inside is clean and there are no smells of rotting bodies! LOL. The property itself is somewhat not maintained ... locked gate access ... gravel road all around the building ... lots of what appears to be abandoned RV's and boats. Which - I don't care about - because it is what's on the inside that matters to me. read more

These guys were great... until it came time to move out. I canceled my lease before the 20th of the month (according to the contract) and moved my things out by the end of the month. But the following month they charged me for another month anyway. I called them and told them about it, and they requested that I send them an email reminding them to cancel the charge on my bank account. Two weeks later I still have not received a reimbursement. Other than that, the place was good. Convenient to Richland, reasonably priced, and seemed secure. A few times the front gate wouldn't open up and had to be operated manually, but that was just an inconvenience. But check your bank account when it comes time to ending your lease. You may still be getting charged. read more

My items were in storage at this facility for three years. The gate was broken and there was basically no security for about 80% of the time I was a customer. When I would call and ask when the security gate would be fixed the owner would tell me he was "cash poor" right now. This was irritating because he sure had my cash everymonth with the automatic withdrawal right on time at $125/month. One day I showed up to the place crawling with cops. Yep. Someone had easily come through at night, clipped the padlocks and made away with many of the units stuff. The property is also dangerous with rubble everywhere and a couple places where there are basement dug but no building on top. Be careful when backing up, especially at dusk or you could end up in one of these holes. The units themselves are very nice with electricity. But management is extremely poor and unprofessional. read more
