Hornet's Heating and Cooling replaced and installed a new outside unit 7 years ago and replaced the evaporator coils on the unit in my attic. This weekend my ac stopped working and I had another HVAC company come out to diagnosis. I provided paperwork from Hornets that I have a 10 year manufacturing warranty and a 5 year warranty on certain parts. After their diagnosis, they informed me the evaporator coils were damaged and that old parts were used. The outside unit was a 2018 model, but the parts were from 2014. Not only were old parts used, Hornets did not register the parts, therefore voiding the warranty, as well as the installation of the outside unit was of poor work. Now I'm having to pay another HVAC company to replace a unit that typically should have a usefulness of at least 10 years. Ghosted by Drew-Hornet HVAC. Drew from Hornet HVA in Concord, NC came to install a new Hvac system in our home in April of this year.  When he left he told us, and we thought we had a good unit we could depend on.  Three day after he installed the unit, it wasn't cooling properly.  He said his guys didn't fill the unit with coolant  when it was installed and he topped it off.  We only used the ac sporadically until the week of June 12th.  Four days after we started using the unit daily, a water leak developed that damaged the sheet rock below it and the floor.  Thank God it was only a storage closet.  I called Drew and asked him to come out and check it.  He said he would be out that afternoon.   After waiting til 8pm, I called back and he wouldn't answer my call. I also sent him a text  with no response.   We had to call a plumber and another hvac company to fix the problems. The new hvac company said it was leaking coolant and oil.  He said if Drew had done the proper diagnostic upon installation,  he would have found the unit was DAMAGED.  It cost us another $3000 dollars to correct the problem.   I didn't see the post from a year ago that had the same experience until today.  After he gets your money, don't expect to hear from him again.  His failure up becomes your problem not his.  Please DO NOT allow Drew to do any installation work at your home. read more

This is the second time we have used Hornets Heating and cooling. The first time was a couple years ago for a gas leak. We had another company first come out and gave us a quote and before the guy left, that quote changed two other times for no reason. A friend recommended Hornets so we had them come out. Not only were they lower, but they fixed the problem right away and were so nice. Today we had our AC go out and again, they were fantastic. I have known Drew for some time and used to use him regularly until my past experience. I had an HVAC system that was updated with the addition that was built on my house. The current HVAC worked great, no issues. Drew tried to sell me a gently used "updated" unit only to find out it was insufficient and to small for my house. When Drew reinstalled my old unit he could not get it to work properly. After looking it over he stated "There is nothing I can do I do not know what's wrong with it" and then left. Mind you it was working FINE before he removed it. Also, on the new addition, the work on the new ducts, that Drew had Josh Hurlocker, (Josh's Heating and Cooling) install, was never completed after full payment was made. I had to hire Freeze HVAC of Mooresville to come and complete the job. I paid, TWICE, and both jobs were incomplete and I was left with an HVAC system that does not work properly. read more

A/C not cooling properly on one of the hottest weeks of the summer. I called Hornet and Drew came out within a couple of hours. He sent me pictures of what he found wrong from the roof top of my building. Including air filters that were dirty even though I had paid someone to replace them a couple of months ago. Drew went out and got new filters, topped off the refrigerant and we had cool air the same day and it did not cost an arm and a leg. I was rather relieved when I paid the bill. Early on a Saturday morning, while I had 5 houseguests, I realized the water heater in my attic was not heating. Quick Yelp search turned up several options. Called and left messages for two companies (which were never returned) prior to calling Hornets. The only reason I didn't call them first was they were not located in my town and felt I might get a quicker response from someone nearby. Not only did Hornets answer on a Saturday (no answering machine), they asked a few questions over the phone to see if I could fix it myself and had no flooding. I was given a one hour window to expect a technician. He called prior to arrival and arrived on time. Turned out to be an electrical problem. The parts were ordered, replaced, and the issue was resolved by early afternoon the same day by the most professional, courteous, kind gentleman. So impressive. I will always use Hornets in the future and highly recommend them to you. read more
