Too pushy! Got a quote from the guy they'd sent out and as I'd mentioned I was accepting multiple bids he asked who his competitors were. After I answered him he immediately began trashing them and their practices. (Very unprofessional) I thanked him and informed him that I would add it to the other bids to make my decision at a later date....the Next day the manager or owner called to inform me that they were ready to move forward on the project right NOW. ( Not good) I reiterated that I was accepting multiple bids and would decide later in the year... My 15 year old heat pump was not keeping up during the recent cold winter nights. The coil was corroded and had leaked refrigerant and the heat strips were malfunctioning. Two other companies came out and couldn't get the heat strips working. Knowing I likely had to replace the system, I wanted to buy a few days to get some quotes. I called Travis for the first time, and he came out personally 7-8pm and, without charging me, patched the heat strips. Then he was able to quote me for a new Lennox system for about half the price of the companies that also quoted me. Travis and James got us installed the next day and by 3 pm we had a beautifully installed system in our home. Travis went above and beyond in customer care and in delivering value when it comes to the large expense of having to buy a new HVAC system. I'm not quite sure what happened this weekend. I set up an appointment for Saturday to get an estimate on my son's house I was fully committed to letting you do my air and was also going to give you my son's job. I made a Saturday appointment for 5 PM, NO SHOW.. NO CALL. we waited until six and called the office. I was told someone will call you back within 10 minutes. Nobody called. Called again at 7:30 and was told the exact same thing someone was going to call me in 10 minutes. Finally we gave up, so on Sunday I called again thinking NOBODY would answer the phone, but to my surprise someone did. Guess what they tell me? Someone will call you within 10 minutes.NEVER HAPPENED. We came home from vacation in July to a hot house. Travis was at our home on a Saturday and within 2hours of my phone call, had our AC unit cooling the house again. We experienced a problem early on a Saturday morning. I called Travis Heating and Air and received a prompt call back from Travis. He asked about the problem and then asked a few more questions to ensure it was not a simple fix, then he told me what to do to prevent other damages to the A/C unit. He gave me a time that he would be at our house and arrived a few minutes early. Travis provided a quick resolution to our A/C problem after only a few minutes of evaluating the issue. This is where the 'been there/done that' or 'had this problem many times and always check here first' with his having over 20 years of experience is/was and always will be very valuable. We moved down here to Huntersville from Boston 17 years ago and we had a problem with a different highly advertised company and Travis Heating and cooling was recommended to us by a neighbor. We have been with them for over 15 years and they have been outstanding in every way. They do our maintainence servicing twice yearly and we just had them install a new heating and air system . Couldn't be happier! Travis showed up on time, was friendly, quick and honest. The fan motor's capacitor was out on our unit and he had it replaced and back running in about 20 minutes. He checked the freon levels and a few other things to make sure the unit was functioning at full capacity. He also added an extra part that helps to extend the life time and efficiency of the capacitor and motor - he had it with him and didn't charge extra for it. So we got a $75 part for free! Definitely the best company around if you need someone to look at your AC and heating! We will be calling him again next time we need something done. read more

Purchasing an A/C unit from Travis was singlehandedly the WORST decision that I have ever made in my 42 years of living. I have now repurchased the unit twice over in repairing issues related to their amateur installation. The ductwork utilized the cheapest material on the market, which has led to fiberglass particle being disseminated throughout my home. The duct board was so poorly installed liquid has been routinely leaking into my attic flooring causing mold and mildew issues. Travis claims no responsibility for any of this despite the fact that they are the only ones ever to lay their hands on my unit. The fact that they have even a single positive review on here is mindblowing. I have three neighbors on my street alone that have also been ripped off by this company. I wanted to leave a msg as I used Travis on 5/31/19. I will say I was very pleased with the cust svc and the knowledge of the hvac service person. However, I later found out I was charged double from what other area installers would have charged. I should have waited on others to return call but did not. Travis came out on a Saturday when our AC quit working in 95 degree heat. He was easy to keep in touch with via text and was very friendly and thorough. He worked on the unit Saturday and got it running on Sunday with a Trane fan motor he tracked down. My AC stopped working and my house was very hot. Being very pregnant it was important to get it fixed quickly. I called Travis Heating and Air and they came out the same day to diagnose the problem. It was time for a new unit and they agreed to come out the next day to replace. When someone called out and they were short staffed they still came out. They repaired our old unit enough to make it through the week until they could come out on Saturday to replace, because that worked with my schedule. We had a problem with our furnace last evening (smell of gas) and, in the process of getting that checked out, discovered that the vent pipe from our upstairs furnace (in the attic) had somehow become dislodged. We were told that this had the potential to be dangerous as it filters out carbon monoxide. The pipe likely came loose when our roof was replaced earlier in the week. My husband did a quick repair, but we knew we needed a professional to make sure it was ok. This afternoon (on a Sunday), we called Travis Heating and Cooling. I received a call back almost immediately, and Travis came out within the hour to check it all out. He reassured us that our repair was correct and secure. The gas smell had been a small leak that the gas company fixed the night before, but Travis also checked over everything else to make sure there were no problems. I have had the folks at Travis Heating and Air out several times for both service of older units and installation of new ones. My 20 plus year old AC unit had died and Travis came out and quickly determined the problem...What shocked me is that he had a part on the truck and had me up in no time at a very reasonable cost (I'm cheap). Since then he has replaced an older unit for me and repaired another. Travis (or his people) show up on time, do quality work in a very timely fashion, and leave me happy.
