Their salads are large, and ample for one, or even two people. Their sandwiches are well stuffed and delicious, and the ingredients are fresh and good. Their fish selections are nice changes, and they have both fried shrimp in a basket, and a grilled haddock sandwich plate which is way more than enough food. They often have specials, like pulled pork platters, and every Tuesday night is wing night. They actually offer wings EVERY night, and they ard deliciouis every time, but on Tuesday, they are discounted, making them even more affordable. Their hot wings, everything wings, and honey mustard wings are outstanding. They have a variety of beers on tap, local cider, and even some craft beer options. Regular bar drinks are also available, good sized, and reasonably priced. There is a pool table available, and ample seating, including outside on nice days. Waitresses and bar tenders will remember your name and favorite drink after you have been there once. I have enjoyed my visits there and recommend to others, especially if you are newer to the area and want place to meet a lot of locals, and get a read on local activities and events. I will definitely be back!

I don't think it's had a single exterior repair or improvement since I was 8 years old and lived in the area. Many many moons ago. The interior is ok. It has a nice little bar with bar foods. The drinks are cheep and the bartenders are friendly. There is some lounge seating that seems semi-private for a conversation. The local pool league seems to play here and can be entertaining. Otherwise, not much to look at. I do see locals come in for a dinner with family including children before the twilight hours. After sundown, I can easily imagine that this place can get pretty rowdy. Wild West.

The first time i ordered food was within the first couple of weeks of their grand opening. Now Afton hasnt had a good pizza parlor since the original owner's of Vincent's pizzeria moved to South Carolina so we were all super excited about this new business moving into our small town. On my first trip, my husband and I ordered a large pie, antipasto salad and mozzarella sticks. I'm a firm believer in always getting a plain cheese pie the first time you visit a new pizzeria. Nothing to disguise the flavor, it either hits or misses. If the plain is good, pretty fair shot that the "gourmet" slices will be good. Our mozz sticks were good, battered not breaded. Kinda hard to f*ck up fried cheese but it can happen. Not the case here. They were hot and the sauce was pretty good. I opened my antipasto salad and found a bowl of lettuce with tomatoes. That's it. No meats and cheeses. No peppers or olives. Just lettuce. And tomatoes. I live 3 minutes from the Pizza Parlor so I called and asked what exactly came on the anitpasto salad and the owner told me ham, salami, provolone, etc. i explained that my salad had lettuce. And tomatoes. Nothing else. He apologized profusely and said he would make it right "next time" i was in. I told him I lived around the corner and would rather just grab a new one now if that was okay. He said he'd make it right up and have it waiting. Problem solved and I greatly appreciated it! My husband ran over to pick up the corrected dish and I opened up the box to check out my pizza. The pizza was sliced Utica style, so squares and not the triangles that most NYers are used to. I'm a native Queens girl and prefer my triangle slices but it really wasnt a big deal as long as the flavor was there. It was...okay. Sauce was a little funky with long strings of onions in it. Pizza wasnt super crispy but it wasnt bad. My corrected salad was also a little lacking in the toppings but again, it wasn't bad. Fast forward to tonight when after having to stay a little later at work than anticipated, i really didnt want to cook and didnt feel like driving back to Sidney to grab pizza there. Figured we'd give our small town parlor another shot and hoped for the best. We ordered just shortly after 6 and I placed a very simple order because google said they closed at 7. Didn't want the staff to hate the "late order" people. 1 large pie. Thin. Extra crispy please. I looked at some of the pics posted by other reviewers for a large pie because i wanted to make sure I wasnt being judgy. The other reviewers pics and pics on the Pizza Parlor's Facebook page show large pies that fill the box. The crust of the pizza is touching the edges of the box. This is definitely not what I received. I received a very thick crust, medium pizza at best. Might've been a bigger small but it wasn't bad definitely not a thin crust, extra crispy large. I received cheesy, tomato soup on dough. Picked up a slice, (they did switch to triangle cuts) everything slid off. Cheese HEAVY, very saucy, very doughy. Now, I'll give credit where credit is do, what I was able to eat was pretty good! The sauce didnt have the weird stringy onions and it wasn't too sweet. Cheese was good there was just so much of it. Im pretty sure its going to be pretty tasty after I reheat it in my little pizza oven but it was just not able to be eaten without a knife and fork while it was fresh. Sacrilege for any real NYer. To be honest, I got the feeling that it was towards the end of the staffs night and maybe they just slapped this pie together without too much thought. Posting two pics, one is a reference from another reviewer to show the size difference between their large pie and mine. Trust me, I think you'll be able to see a difference. I will try this place again cause I do think the flavor is there and I so desperately want them to succeed in this town that needs the business!

I'm not a huge fan of chicken wings, but guys... Guys... GUUUUUUYS. The chicken wings here are legit DELICIOUS. The vibe of the restaurant is just chill and relaxed. It's clean, the service is great (the server took care of drink refills without us asking, checked back with us regularly & in a timely manner, and brought the items from our order out as they were ready), and the price point is great for what you get as well. We ordered 4 different kinds of wings - Cajun, Black Cherry Pepper BBQ, Carolina Gold (the star of the show), and Hot Honey Garlic. I'm a bit of a lightweight when it comes to heat, so I didn't try the Cajun... but I loved the bit of fruit flavor from the black cherry wings, and really enjoyed the bit of spice from the hot honey. Those Carolina Gold wings though... I would come back again and again for those alone. Consider me a chicken wing convert, I guess! ALSO... I almost forgot that we have the buffalo chicken eggrolls as an appetizer. Perfectly crunchy outer eggroll with delicious buffalo chicken inside. I'm not a bleu cheese gal (blasphemy with buffalo chicken, but I don't care), and the server brought a little side of ranch out for us to dip our eggrolls in. *chef's kiss* TL;DR GO. FOR. THE WINGS. Seriously... you're missing out if you don't. Get a bunch of flavors, share with friends (or eat them yourself - I won't judge), and wallow in the sauce-y goodness.

The vibe of this place is exactly what's needed in America. I wish there were more places like the Union Hotel. It looks so fun and funky, everything is clean and I'm being serious, it's clean! Fried cheese curds and fried pickles...if that's all we ordered we were already hooked! Then our wings came!!! Pry the sauces out of my hands, I had it on my face, up my arms, the wings were exactly what you beg for anywhere else!! The sweetest and most beautiful bartender was an absolute angel getting our drinks and food! Extremely conscientious and attentive during busy moments! We cannot wait to go back...it was a fantastic reminder of what we used to have local to us! 10/10 all the way around!
