Great place to camp! We didn't know this until we got there but we stayed on the last night of the season Nov 10 and then the campgrounds were closing for the season. It was cold at night but it was great! It's a first come first serve basis and we lucked out with the last spot available. $12 fee. We stayed on #16 it was an alright spot but vverrrryyy close to our neighbors. Not much room for privacy which we were expecting more of. Bathrooms were clean but not actually toilets that flush just a toilet attached to a huge hole in the ground. No showers. Great hiking trails right next to the campgrounds :)

This place is phenomenal. We showed up on a Sunday afternoon camped for 2 nights and each night there was only one other camper there. If you are looking for a secluded campground surrounded by 100 year old pine trees this is your place.

This is while we were hiking.

I've been to this campground twice now - once a few years ago and again about a month ago. I've loved it both times. Campgrounds are not too close together, plenty of parking, lots of trees, and it's kept clean. Each campsite has a fire pit and picnic table. It's only about 40 minutes up Angeles Crest (about 2 miles past Newcomb's Ranch), but you feel like you're much farther away. There is no water so make sure to bring plenty! The thing I love the most about this place is the hiking right by it. Beautiful views, lots of boulders to climb if you want. I saw a bunch of mountain bikers on the trails as well. Highly recommend this place for a nice getaway from the city.

    Site 9 & 10. Fits 2 cars per site.

Pretty great. There are fire pits and picnic tables at each site. The pit bathrooms were in pretty good shape.

Bathrooms here are disgusting! Too many flies inside the bathrooms. Other than that the camping site is nice there's lots of trees!

Safety is a huge priority to them and it shows. They are also good at bringing the group/class together as a whole, providing an unexpected camaraderie. There are so many things I took away from this course. I highly recommend it, and any other courses from Canyon Adventures. To begin with the instructor's student/teacher ratio was about 5 to 1 with the Instructor Aspirants(teaching assistants) . We had 16 students in my ground school and like the subsequent Level 1 course that was offered it was obvious that Canyon Adventures had my interest over their financial interest. Well, it's kind of hard to compare when it's a non-profit. I subsequently took his Level 2 course that was offered later as a result of his reaching out to us to follow up on our canyoneering experiences. The classes are consistent because everyone follows the CorePower formula, but I rarely leave feeling like I deepened my practice or learned something new from a seasoned practitioner. A lot of the instruction feels more like executing a system after certification than teaching from years of personal practice. The flows are fine, but there's often a lack of depth and adjustment you tend to get from teachers who have spent a long time immersed in yoga beyond a corporate training pipeline. You notice it in things like teachers forgetting where they are in the flow or struggling to keep pace with the class they're leading, and overly commercial playlists that create more of a fitness studio atmosphere than a mindful one. Overall, this feels more like yoga for people looking for a workout and a pleasant atmosphere than for those seeking a deeper practice. You might describe it as "McYoga", but maybe expecting more from a national corporate chain is unrealistic. And that all said, there's one or two teachers there who actually do know what they're doing.

There's a big play structure for the kids aged 5 and up, and a smaller play area for under 5. My 4 year old loved playing in the big structure and going down the big blue tube slide. Some children may be hesitant going down the slide, and if so, you'd have to climb all the way down as there's not alternative slide. It could get a bit crowded if there's too many kids in the structure, so parents be forewarned and keep your eyes on your children if they need help while in the structure. There's a good handful of swings, ranging from regular swings to double swings to a round swing where 5 kids can go at the same time! Super fun! The grounds are also all rubber and no sand, which was a bit of a bummer as my child likes to play in the sand. There also a large basketball court next to the playground, and the recreational center next to the courts. We went on a Sunday and the center was closed, so unfortunately we couldn't access the bathrooms. Lots of street parking, but it can probably fill up fast during the popular months.

I've been a long time member of Corepower so I've had my fair share of hot yoga, and it makes me appreciate the way that hot 8 operates - they have multiple types of classes - I tried Strength, Yin, Sculpt, and they're all fantastic. The membership feels so worth it because of the variety of classes and the multiple rooms/times available. I will definitely be returning. Shout out to the front desk staff - they helped me solve issues with my booking process (my fault) and were so kind/patient when exposing the different classes to me. Oh and shoutout to Allison Chiang - the Strength instructor. She brought the energy and spent time on form correction. So key! Finally - there's free parking with validation in the building! Makes it so easy to commit to the practice.

My favorite class at the moment is Yin, which is a restorative deep fascia release class. (I've had some injuries unrelated to yoga, so I need something more restorative.) Prior to my injury I was taking the Barre classes for 5 to 7 days a week and it changed my life for the best. I am very much looking forward to taking the new Strength classes once I'm feeling up for it. I recommend Mia and Damara for Barre. I recommend Jaz, Shanai (who is also an excellent barre teacher too), and Rachel for Yin. Jaz teaches extra special Yin class with tennis balls that help students stretch into their fascia even more deeply, and is better than any massage I've ever had! With my injury, I'm not sure that I would have continued with my annual executive membership if Jaz were not teaching Yin. Her classes have been a godsend. Even when I'm healed I will continue taking her classes! All the teachers are quite good; I just have my favorites based on personality and instruction style. You are sure to find someone who will exceed your needs! The three reasons that I decided not to give the studio five stars are: 1. they've been running out of the towels that I get with my particular membership. 2. there are some rude students who interrupt important times of instruction, especially the Shavasana, which is critical to closing out a successful yoga practice. 3. The showers can sometimes be a little slimy, which is pretty gross. This was not the case when I first started taking classes almost 2 years ago.

Perfect hike for a hot day…read more I love waterfall hikes and listening to the sound of calm, running water. The added challenge on these hikes is the multiple stream crossings. I brought some hiking poles which helped with balance and probing for loose rocks and logs. If you want to get parking in the lower lot, it's best to come before 8AM. We found parking in the second lot. An Adventure Pass or Day Pass is required. Parking is enforced. A car received a ticket for being in a No Parking zone. The start of the trail is nicely shaded. The second half is a hilly, narrow, sun exposed path which routes back into the canyon toward the Lower Switzer Falls. I'm glad they had fencing on some narrow and steep parts of the trail. We encountered an active rattlesnake which headed down the mountain, so be on the lookout. Overall, the hike takes about 3 hours for 5.5 miles. The additional hike back up to the parking lot was about 1/4 of a mile. Note: if you need to use the restroom, it's best to bring your own toilet paper and to go before you start your hike. It was kind of smelly, but if you gotta go... you gotta go.

What impressed me most about this trail is that it's almost fully covered by shade. We went in the late afternoon, and I'd say probably 80-85% of it is covered. Very impressive! Here are some useful tips: 1. There are three parking lots: two are next to the highway, and one is near the hiking entrance. I'd recommend getting a parking pass if possible. 2. There are only three restrooms at the beginning of the trail, so use them when you see them. 3. If you're aiming to go to the waterfall, make sure to look for the signs. Some signs aren't very clear, so we had to stop and ask other hikers frequently. Luckily, people there are super friendly and happy to help. Just pay attention to your surroundings. 4. The trail is dog-friendly, but dogs must be on a leash. 5. Waterproof hiking boots are recommended. All in all, it's a fun trail. It's a great place for a picnic and camping, and it's very close to the stream. Great for kids, families, and pets!
