I am writing to formally complain about the unsatisfactory and unprofessional service I received from your company, Horseless Carriage Limousine, on Thursday, July 23, 2026. My wife and I returned to Norfolk that morning after a five‑day Carnival cruise. It was raining heavily when we disembarked. Your driver, Richard Oden, informed us beforehand that he would meet us across the street from the Carnival cruise terminal, and he was indeed parked there when we arrived. However, he remained parked across a four‑lane road in severe rain rather than pulling up to the designated drop‑off/pick‑up area where he originally dropped us off at the start of our trip. I walked toward him and signaled for him to come over, but he did not move the vehicle. I also attempted to call the company to notify him that we were ready for pickup, but no one answered the phone. As a result, my wife and I were forced to walk across the street in the pouring rain, carrying multiple pieces of luggage while navigating morning traffic. The driver did not exit the vehicle to assist us until we reached the car, and even then, he only opened the trunk. He provided no help with our luggage and offered no assistance until after we were already soaked. He did give us a small towel once we were inside the vehicle, but by that point the damage was done. This experience was extremely disappointing and far below the level of professionalism your company claims to provide. Based on this incident, I will not be using Horseless Carriage Limousine again. Additionally, companies such as Uber offer the same trip at a significantly lower cost and with far better service. I expect acknowledgment of this complaint and an explanation for the unacceptable conduct displayed by your driver. read more

I'm not very pleased with the service I purchased. I specifically requested a LIMO and a special request for the limo driver to be inside the airport at baggage claim, to have a sign held up with the clients name so that my client could easily identify her limo driver. Neither one happened. The vehicle was a regular black sedan and the limo driver was not on time. My client had to wait in baggage claim walking around and calling several times with no answer waiting for the limo driver to show up. By the time my client was identified it was 10:45am. I requested a 10:30am pick up. Shortly after the pickup at 10:45am my client also reported the limo drivers appearance was very unprofessional, black pants and a thick winter jacket. I am 100% dissatisfied with your service. Totally unprofessional and very unorganized. Please fix this asap! I have also sent an email to the their customer support which guarantees a reply within 72 hours. It's been almost a week now, customer support and satisfaction is the least of their concern & priority. read more

I must start off by saying I'm a local and a professional in the Hampton Roads area. I have used other company's before for personal and special events. But this was an eye opener for me. Because not only did the company owner call me to make sure he covered my needs. But the driver was on top of his game. Not only was he on time but the driver text me and called prior to our first contact with our party. He made this surprise event very special and everyone was comfortable. The Driver knew all the locations and if we had an issue he knew the management also and made sure we all were cared for. It goes without saying our night was perfect and everyone who attended stated they will also make note that when they had an event Horseless Carriage Limousine would be our # 1 Choice. I can't tank them enough so, I hope others looking for a limousine service reads this and don't think twice. read more

I have used this company many times and every time they go above and beyond. I am looking forward to my next trip with them. I booked a car to come and take us to the Airport at 4am, to my surprise the driver was parked in my driveway at 345am. The driver was very respectful and hilarious. If you ever get the opportunity, ask for AJ Jackson as your driver, I have had many drivers in my travels, but he is by far the best I have had the pleasure of traveling with. Used them for an engagement dinner for my brother to take us too and from a restaurant. Driver was very courteous and even apologized for not showing up late even though he was a few minutes early. Limo was nice and very clean. Couldn't ask for better service. read more

My wife was employed by this company as a driver and the company is very disorganized. All of the jobs are called to her at the very last minute and the cars that the company uses are not taken care of at all! Last night she was called around 5:30pm for a job to pick up two people in Virginia Beach by 7. We live in Portsmouth and the car she needed to use was in Norfolk. The car wasn't ready to be used at all. No gas, 2 flat tires, no oil, and the car was filthy. She barely made it in time to pick them up. She then had to drive them to Williamsburg and on the way the tires went flat again. She was stranded in Williamsburg so I had to leave and pick her up in the middle of the night with our 4 kids because the company has no idea on how to respond to this situation obviously. Her boss said it was ok for us to use the company fuel card to pay for our gas and then the next day wanted to complain about it and fired her and refuses to pay her for this job or the previous job that he owed her for. I recently used horseless carriage for my wedding day transportation. I was extremely disappointed with their services and would not recommend them or use them in the future. I called and emailed several times leading up to the wedding to confirm a limousine from the church to our reception site then a town car from our reception site to our hotel. The day of, the limousine showed up to transfer our wedding party. However, the town car was supposed to be at our reception at 10:00pm. It was not. After making our grand exit at 10, we went outside to find our ride not waiting. I finally found my phone and had a few missed calls from the driver. I finally got a hold of the driver and was questioned why I wasn't answering . I of course, did not have my cell phone on me while getting married. I was told that the driver was still waiting at the airport for a couple who's flight was late. I was astounded by this. Not showing up for a client because the one before was running late (it would be safe to assume there were a multitude of taxis at the airport that this other couple could have used) . I was forced to stand outside in my wedding dress waiting for a guest to give us a ride to our hotel, not only embarrassing but incredibly frustrating. I was refunded pretty quickly, but not even offered an apology, which makes me think this might happen somewhat frequently. I was extremely disappointed in this vendor. read more
