Great experience as a first-time rider Service: Staff were extremely friendly and attentive throughout the experience, from signing the liability form (online), to saddling the horses and guiding us through the trail to the beach. Only thing is that it may be hard to hear instructions/tips with larger groups, and wish there were more photo opportunities. Horses: Most of the horses were great, some liked snacking along the path but that's expected given the path of trees and leaves leading to the beach. Shout out to my horse Ricky as he was very well-behaved, and it was a neat experience trotting and letting the horses drink water. Overall: Definitely a fun experience, and would recommend if you haven't been! Tip: Discounts if going in a larger group and if paying in cash, also bring a change of clothes and wear long pants!

This was my first time visiting the ranch with my friend. Checking in was smooth, and all the staff were great in assisting rides get on and off the horse. The only thing I would suggest is that during the group rides, have two people (the person in the front and back) explain any directions. I wasn't able to hear the directions and tips from the person who was leading our group at the front. I'm glad I experienced horseback riding but I won't be doing it again. The horses look miserable and I can't imagine how it would be for the horse to do a two hour ride, right after completing a tour beforehand.

Awesome experience. It was my first time and it was worth the trip to Port Colborne. The staff were professionals and friendly. The horses are well trained and I am in awe how beautiful they were lining up and following each other. There were 18 participants on each of the horses and three staff guided us. The only drawback was you get really sore during and after the horseback riding. It can get really dusty with the horses walking and especially galloping. I recommend you bring a mask if you are care about the dust. Sun setting at the beach while riding the horse was the highlight of the event. The overall time on the horse was about 1.5 hrs.

This place is magical! The horses are beautiful, seem healthy and well cared for. The people who work here are fun, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They were patient and responsive to our kids who had never been horseback riding before and were particularly supportive to our one son who was very anxious. One of our guides, Tony, kept him close just to ease his nerves. They were thoughtful in pairing horses, and talioring the ride/trail to the level of our crew. The 90 minute ride went down country roads, through wooded areas and to the beach...beautiful nature and breathtaking views. Yes, an expensive day out, but worth it. Far exceeded our expectations.

Truly horse people. During our ride, the horse the guide was on got spooked and our guide demonstrated gentleness and positive reinforcement to help her horse overcome fear. All the horses I saw were in great shape and they were super shiny and well fed, clearly being well taken care of. Also, they are all rescue horses. I would recommend bug spray. A small portion of the ride was in a bug rich environment.

DO NOT BOOK A PARTY OR ANYTHING THERE!!!!! I was there for a birthday party. It was a dump upon…read morepulling in. The pit holes in the driveway could swallow up a small car, the owners yard, full of stuff everywhere, nothing picked up. The person who booked the party for 50 people wasn't greeted, NOTHING was set in motion for a child's birthday party and the 20 friends they invited, plus parents and family. The manager had no idea a party was coming until 20 minutes prior to arrival. The place is filthy, the barn is a disaster. I feel sorry for the poor animals that live in that place considering the $$$ people drop in there for riding lessons, camp, parties etc. DO NOT GO HERE, you'll regret it!!!!! Too bad I have to give 1 star, they'd get NEGATIVE 5

I recently hosted my twin daughters' 5th birthday party at Autumn's Gate, and unfortunately, the…read moreexperience was incredibly disappointing--especially considering we paid several hundred dollars, even with a promotional rate. From the moment we arrived, not a single employee greeted us or provided any direction. In fact, another parent who happened to be there with her daughter was the only person who offered any assistance. I initially thought she worked there because she was the only person helping us. Thank goodness she was there, because without her, things would have gone even worse. The party was originally booked to be held outdoors, weather permitting. Since rain was in the forecast, I proactively contacted the owner beforehand to confirm there was a backup plan. On the day of the party, however, the weather turned out to be beautiful--sunny with some wind, but overall a gorgeous day. When we arrived, we were directed into a barn that was in very rough condition. The owners knew we were expecting approximately 50 guests, yet there was no way that many people could have comfortably fit in the space provided. Since no staff member was communicating with us, I called the owner myself and asked if we could move the party outdoors. She explained that the tent couldn't be set up due to high winds, which I completely understood. She then told us a staff member would walk us to the outdoor area so we could see the alternative setup. This was about 10 minutes before guests were scheduled to arrive. When we got outside, it was obvious the space had not been prepared. There were bicycles and miscellaneous items scattered around, no garbage cans, and three employees were hurriedly wiping down tables while guests were already arriving. It felt as though no one had planned for us to use the space at all, despite that being where we had originally booked the party. To make matters worse, one of the owners casually told us, "If you need anything, I'll be in the woods through that path," and disappeared. No one explained the schedule, the activities, or what to expect. There was supposed to be a tour included, and I had to track someone down to ask about it. We later learned that the owners didn't even inform staff about our party until midnight the night before. The employee assigned to lead the tour appeared understandably frustrated because she had only been told about it roughly 20 minutes before she was expected to conduct it. Thankfully, the kids still had fun, but as the host, I was embarrassed in front of my family and friends. The entire event felt disorganized, unprepared, and poorly managed. The property itself was also concerning. The potholes in the driveway were so severe that my brother's car nearly bottomed out. The grounds were overgrown with weeds, and there was junk scattered throughout the property. Given the cost of hosting events and riding lessons there, it raises the question of where that money is being invested, because it certainly does not appear to be going toward property maintenance or guest experience. To top it all off, after providing virtually no support throughout the event, the owner wanted another parent to take photos of the party for advertising purposes. That request felt incredibly inappropriate given the experience we had. Near the end of the party, one of the owners finally approached us and asked if we needed anything. By that point, we were already packed up and leaving. I booked this party nearly a month in advance and expected a professional, organized experience. Instead, I received the complete opposite. If you are considering booking a birthday party or event here, I would strongly encourage you to reconsider. The children may enjoy the animals and activities, but the lack of preparation, communication, customer service, and overall upkeep made this one of the most disappointing event experiences I've ever had. I cannot recommend Autumn's Gate, and I would not spend my money there again.
