We stopped here after visiting some friends. Got a tasty cornedbeef hash breakfast and a fantastic primerib lunch. The bloody Mary's alone are worth stopping here. The 2 bartends I meet Sabrina and Karen were both very friendly. I will be coming back here!

We stopped in here because they boast that they have "the best Bloody Marys" and "the best clam chowder". We ordered both but couldn't agree that either was anywhere near "the best" in the area. We ordered the clam chowder, side salads, a Philly dip, and a BLT, along with the blood Marys. The sandwiches were very good! The side salads were the typically salad mix but good too. The clam chowder was served lukewarm and looked like it had sat on the counter for awhile before being brought to our table. The bloody marys were average bar mix. This a very much a local bar food type diner. Besides the almost cold clam chowder the food alone was pretty good. However, the service is very slow. That probably contributed to the disappointing chowder. There weren't many other people in the place on the night we visited so it wasn't due to being busy. What we couldn't get past, while eating, is that the place was swarming with flies. We had flies landing on us, our food, our drinks, our table... just everywhere! We spent more time shooing the flies away than eating. We finally left about 1/3 of our meals and asked for the bill so we could leave. I'm not sure if their garbage is too close to the main doors or if there was some other issue that day but I can't sit and eat in a restaurant/bar swarmed by flies. Maybe visiting in the winter, when the flies are at a low, would be better.

    Special Bloody Mary...very good!

Stopped by on a Friday. Little busy but good service. We tried the clam chowder and split an order of fish and chips. This place is kind of a road house drinker's bar...but in a good way. The food, both the fish and chips and the chowder was very good. Better than some you might find on the coast. Very, very good Bloody Mary, had two, not something I usually do...and I wasn't driving. Wait staff was friendly, other patrons were friendly. Like I said kind of a country road house bit of a drinker's bar but with good drinks (at least the Bloody Mary was) and good food. Between Mulino and Molalla or Colton stop by...even worth a bit of a trip. Very, very pleasant surprise. I know we will be stopping in again.

Great little dive and a good spot to stop in and have a beer and a bite. The service is always phenomenal, super friendly staff! Food is always delicious! Definitely that dive vibe but clean and a great patio (can be a smokers paradise at times though) would highly recommend and will absolutely be returning!

I have been to the Horseshoe Bar and Grill numerous times now. The food here decent. They have a good Chicken Fried Steak, Hamburger, Nachos, Fish and Chips, and a great deal on Tacos on Thursday nights. They advertise a great Bloody Mary, and it doesn't disappoint! However, it's the service here that's really suffering! I think this is a result of poor management. The servers here are very friendly. When you come in you generally get your drinks and food ordered in a timely manner. But there have been times when the food has taken over an hour to get. The biggest issue is after you get your food the servers seem to disappear. There's never a check back to see if you want another drink or just trying to get the check. I wonder how much revenue on alcohol is being lost because no one checks back. To be fair, it's not like they're standing around. They're busy! Clearly this place is understaffed. I think my wife and I are going to be taking a break from the Horseshoe for a while. Hopefully management will get their act together and fix the staffing and wait times. I want to give this place a higher score. If we come back here in the future and the staffing has been fixed, I would be happy to update my review.

It was kind of hard to find originally because a semi truck had taken out the big sign out front. From what I could tell it seemed that most of their customers ordered their pizza to go. The place was very empty for dinner time. We ordered a medium pepperoni and mushroom pizza. We also ordered the all you can eat salad bar. The salad bar offered a pretty decent selection of options but the lettuce itself seemed like it was pretty picked over when we were there. The pizza came out pretty quickly. I guess it started out bigger than it was and shrunk when it was baked. The dough was very crispy and yummy. The toppings were pretty good but the sauce could have been more flavorful. All in all a good experience. We'll be back.

It feels like the place you'd head to after a sports game -- where nostalgia meets genuine, tasty goodness. We've yet to have a bad pizza here, which is pretty amazing considering everyone in our family has their own favorite toppings. The menu strikes the right balance: simple and straightforward, but with enough variety to keep both kids and adults happy. Family-friendly, consistent, and reliable -- everything we want from a local pizza spot. We'll definitely keep coming back.

The meat was buried under so much cheese and sauce that you couldn't tell it was on the pizza. Then on top of that it was cooked all the way and it was doughy. This has been an issue there before with it being doughy. Same with bread sicks they weren't fully cooked and we're very doughy. It was just the bad experience with the food it was also the horrible customer service we got when it was their system error that didn't print the ticket. They were rude. I won't go back there again. It was the worst experience we have had a a restaurant in a very long time.

I check Yelp to confirm the hype is real and then I am off to the races. This location is humble; it's definitely a order and go spot. However, there's two small tables to wait. We ordered at the counter and waited around 20 minutes for two family pizzas and one 10 inch pizza. We got a butter chicken and tandoori chicken split, a Mighty Munch Mountain curry pizza, and a pepperoni. The verdict? The crust is good, but not life changing. It is a bit thick but it is necessary because they load you with toppings. Flavorwise? All were delicious. Even my niece who is a very picky eater, ate a slice of the pepperoni that we got her and then devoured the rest. My favorite was probably the butter chicken with a light, creamy taste and plenty of chicken. Honestly, I'd do a family size half and half of your two favorites to get the best bang for your buck. Glad to have found this spot before the Superbowl.

It took me so long because it looks like the parking lot is a big walk from the front door, but unbeknownst to me, there's a back door that goes to the middle of the parking lot! Then there were the issues of all the bad things I heard a few years ago. But my understanding is that a former owner left, the original owner took it back, rebuilt what was lost, and re-retired, selling to a better vetted owner, and now I'm hearing nothing but good things. And, in fact, I am impressed. It is very good pizza. Over a couple of weeks, I tried three different pizzas. I like pizzas with lots of toppings, so that was my first order. Then I tried a simple meat and one other topping pizza. And finally, I tried a pizza with a moderate number of toppings, plus extra cheese. Pizzas are built with crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings. The cheese usually holds the toppings in place, and if you order from many places, if you order a lot of toppings, they give you less of each topping so they can form a single layer against the cheese. Not so at Lone Elder. You get a full serving of each topping, which means you're going to get your money's worth. And while I didn't really mind that the extra toppings fell off as I picked up each slice (I can eat them with a fork off the box), I was concerned that they seemed to be chopped too big, leaving them substantially cold. That's probably better than over-cooked, limp toppings, but the pile I ate with a fork was more like a salad. The crust, however, was perfect! Crunchy on the bottom, chewy in the middle, and completely baked. Leaving the pizza in the oven longer (to heat the toppings) could have over-cooked (burned) the crust. So the second pizza I ordered had a minimal number of toppings. What I was hoping to see would be the cheese under the toppings peaking through. It did, but there was no browning. Again, the crust was perfect. The third pizza I ordered had extra cheese. I was hoping with even more cheese, I'd see some browning, but I didn't. Again, the crust was perfect. My conclusion is that the oven isn't heating enough on the top. Combine that with a chop on the toppings that's a little too course, leaving pieces that are too thick, and that's how we get to 4 stars instead of 5 stars. Mind you, 4 stars is still very good in my book. I will be returning, but perhaps not as often as I head towards some other pizzas that aren't as good, but that's because of the cost. Even if the pizza got 5 stars in my book, I can't justify the price of a great pizza when I can get okay pizza for half the price. One other thing that bothers me: If you get the pizza delivered, they toss in some complimentary cookies. That seems to be an incentive to get delivery, when what they really need to do is offer an incentive for people to find that side entry, and come in for their pizza!

First timer and found the pizza tasty and full of toppings. Thin crust option was great. We…read morewill be back.
