We stay at the Rivershore a few times a year since my husband works in the area and it also puts me closer to my family. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I always love the view of the river[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and we especially enjoy when we get to see our housekeeper, Missy. Missy truly goes above and beyond. She always greets us warmly, checks to see if there's anything we need, and makes us feel so welcome. On our most recent stay, we originally had a room with one bed, but we usually get two because we like having the extra bed for our bags. We ended up moving rooms to the other end of the hotel. That morning, my husband had to rush off to work because he was running late, and we were quickly trying to get everything moved. Missy kindly told us not to worry or rush on her account, and that she would take care of cleaning the old room. About an hour after I got settled into the new room, there was a knock at the door--it was Missy! She had brought me two hangers I had accidentally left behind in our old room, and one of them even had my bracelet wrapped around it. I hadn't even realized I had left it behind. That small gesture meant so much to me. Missy is absolutely amazing and such an asset to the Rivershore. It's wonderful to see someone who genuinely cares about guests and goes out of her way to make sure everything is taken care of. Thank you, Missy, for always making our stays that much better! On a couple of other notes, if you enjoy gin, they have a Gompers gin made in Bend, Oregon in small batches. I don't usually drink gin, but this one is very smooth and delicious--and hard to find. Whenever we come to Oregon, we always pick up a few bottles to take back to Arizona for friends. Also, if you eat in the dining room, the sourdough bread is incredible. It has a perfectly crunchy crust and is honestly so good I could eat the whole loaf myself. read more

Makaila is a fantastic bartender. She's great at multitasking, makes delicious bevvies, and creates such a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The food and snacks here are tasty too. I had the mini sliders with a salad, along with an Old Fashioned and one of their Mystic Isle drinks, and both were very yummy. In town for a wedding, Dad and I stayed at the Best Western. The wait service was great. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The food, on the other hand, was terrible. Had 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner, three opportunities to evaluate the food quality. I'll only mention the dinner, which was chicken tenders and tots. The breading on the chicken was a hollow shell; the wet, disk-shaped piece of 'chicken' slid entirely out of the breading shell with ease. I couldn't finish the meal after that first bite. read more

First time trying this place; I made a reservation for Easter. Nothing on their website suggested a special menu, so I assumed normal menu. Arrived for my noon reservation for the very overpriced breakfast buffet and omelet menu as the only thing available. $45 buffet for an adult - I had the last serving of lukewarm eggs and bacon with dry biscuits. The coffee was hot and delicious at least! My in laws and husband had omelettes off the static menu for $25 and reports were "okay." Updates for East Side long running restaurants - 1 of 2 I could have sworn I'd given Rivershore 4 stars before because I have eaten there about a handful of times. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While it looks and probably is very '70s or early '80s, it looks at home in its setting from which you can take in some great views of the confluence of the rivers if seated on the terrace.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can get some of the view from tables closer to the big windows.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Rivershore is about classic American food as shown in their preparation and presentation of meat, poultry, and fish dishes ... and more. It's about heartier fare and, in this more salt of the earth area, definitely not bistro food with small portions. I was hungry and I thought I'd drop in, though it was for dinner when I've almost always gone here for lunch. As I went over the menu, I didn't see as many things that interested me and I didn't want a burger or a sandwich. That said, I settled on the fish and chips of which the fish was cod. (I believe they also had halibut fish and chips.) With it, I had a cola soft drink. I liked the platter, and I'm easy to please since I need a periodic fish and chips fix, and I also liked the portion size. The service was somewhere between good and indifferent. As long as the job got done, I overlooked it. I looked over the check when it arrived and the soft drink was on the tab at $5! It's not about being cheap - well, it sort of is - but it's that the Rivershore is not Fogo de Chao or a renowned downtown restaurant. There's a sort of psychology or consumer behavior that goes with pricing. That said, this $5 cola torqued me. Perhaps it's a way to still bump things up when customers are not ordering alcohol. I'm not sure. So, I'm at a standard 3 stars instead of a more enthusiastic 3 stars for the Rivershore where 2 rivers come together as well as 3 communities - Oregon City, Milwaukie, and Gladstone. It's fine. If you tend to rotate where you go out to eat and you like American grub, you can slot this restaurant into your rotation. read more

He quickly says no and moves on. Ok cool. I love Caesar salad but am always so careful, because duh. Food comes out, I take a bite of salad and a. immediately tasted fish, and b. had to get out my EpiPen When the waiter returned a couple of times, my salad was sitting untouched in front of me, did he ask why? No he did not. Finally when he came back to clear the table and asked how everything was I said "are you absolutely positive there were no anchovies in the dressing"? He replied "well there's nothing on the salad but I guess in the dressing maybe". To which I replied "yeah I can't eat that, I'm allergic", I thought we had made that clear. Instead of saying "omg how can I make this right, I could have killed you, anything? He says, "can you eat cheesecake"? I was like, excuse me? Said no thank you. He says "are you sure"? Yeah I am sure dude. The bill was $110, $22 of which was the salad. Did they offer to comp it? No. The cherry on top is that the cheesecake that he had offered me to "fix things", that same cheesecake I refused, was on our bill, $10!!! You can't make this up. They finally took a whole $10 off our check. Wow thanks. Class act establishment. Please for the love of everything, don't disregard someone's direct question and carry on with your evening, and then offer them cheesecake to smooth it over. Your flippant disregard could cost someone their LIFE. Needless to say we will not be back. Also, seriously. The food SUCKS. read more

A group of family and friends went here to celebrate Thanksgiving together. While the service was amazing (our server was cheerful and kind), the food was horrible. I ordered the turkey dinner, and almost the entire meal was inedible. The turkey came as "slabs" of sliced meat with no flavors or spices. The stuffing looked like it came from a box and was far too salty. I don't know what they did to the mixed vegetables, but not only were they too salty, but whatever oils they cooked them ruined the flavor. Even the pumpkin pie was inedible. The clove and cinnamon were overpowering. Quite disappointing especially after paying $60 for a meal. Even my water came in a plastic cup. Other feedback from other members were very dry halibut and similar feedback on the vegetables. I am grateful I was with wonderful company. The poor meal didn't detract from my gratitude, but sadly, I don't think any of us will return. read more

Went with a friend for brunch on Sunday, they were busy, but did not require a reservation. We sat outside looking at the river, there was ample parking. Food was great! We both ordered eggs Benedict, she had the traditional Benedict with Canadian bacon & I ordered mine with avocado instead of pork. Our dish came with potatoes, but the Benedict was filling enough. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They refused to sit us near the windows, even though that too had been arranged weeks in advance (only two of the many tables near the windows were taken when we arrived, and the rest of the restaurant was empty when we arrived).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter's attitude was rather gruff at best, and he never offered to refill our coffees even after several attempts to flag him down. One of us was able to loudly get the attention of a different waiter who begrudgingly refilled coffees for 4 of us and said the rest of the group would have to wait (we had been there for about a half hour at this point). The food was very good when it came out in stages (which was fine and to be expected with a large group). But for several of us, the food was served quite cold, meaning our gruff passive-agressive waiter was just letting it sit in the kitchen pass for a long time before bothering to pick it up. I would recommend trying this place if it's just 2-4 of you, but otherwise you may face the same problems our group did. We had ordered about $500 worth of breakfast items, but we won't be going back there again (our breakfast group of 12-20+ meets every week at a number of different restaurants, and repeatedly return to those with good food and service). It was a shame we couldn't tip just the kitchen staff, because they did their job well, it was just our particular waiter seemed to intentionally ruin the kitchen staff's good work. read more

14 mile drive for barely average expensive breakfast! They don't make real omelets they make rolled up scrambled eggs with filling, as most places do, with one local exception Tammy D'S, probably one of the few places on the planet. Any way my omelet contained the saltiest bacon I've ever eaten, just wasn't very good. The fried red potatoes were excellent as was the large biscuit. Val's scrambled eggs were ok, bacon was deep fried and overly cooked. So overall the breakfast was below average. Was going to try this place for dinner, but I think we'll pass. Service was excellent! The view is almost nonexistent! The trees on the bank of the river almost totally block the view. $50.00 for breakfast including tip, I don't think we'll ever be going back. read more

I was staying at the hotel connected to this restaurant, and had a coupon. I decided to try it for breakfast. It wasn't busy at all (I think I was one of only two patrons) when I arrived a little after 7am. Service was relaxed and friendly. I sat outside, overlooking the Willamette. In my opinion, the view is the best part of this restaurant. The outdoor seating seemed to be on a porch that was covered. I went with the french toast, sausage and two eggs (over easy) breakfast. The food came out pretty quickly. The eggs were cooked well and the yolks runny. The french toast came with whipped butter and maple syrup, and was basic but tasty. The sausages were delicious and cooked just right, if not the prettiest. But I didn't care, they tasted great! The food was good, yet pretty simple. From the food to the service, everything is excellent! The bartender. Shayla she is awesome. She always has a smile on her face and willing to go the extra mile. I have watched that girl literally run the bar by herself with 20 people in there and she never missed the beat. The manager she is awesome. Come for the view and server (Rachael, I believe) but not for the $100 for two, out-of-the-box tasting meal. I had the gorgonzola ribeye, which was $34 and Horrible. They just dumped some (likely) Costco gorgonzola crumbles on top, scooped some luke warm glaze over it and served this 1/2 thick ribeye with 'garlic' (tasted zero of it ) out-of-the box tasting mashed potatoes.. The calamari was mostly bread or crust or ..there was just so little meat. I thought some where just super small fried onion rings, it was that thin and crunchy. This place is really a hidden gem. While it's attached to a hotel near a highway interchange, once you're inside the restaurant really shines. They have a nice deck for warm days so you can sit overlooking the river, or a cozy dining room for cold or rainy nights. There's a number of great deals to be found in the daily dinner specials and weekly wine discounts on Tuesday and Thursday. The staff is friendly, especially the wait staff showing their knowledge and attentiveness. Go for the winning team they have in the kitchen. The food was very expertly cooked, from my husband's medium rare filet mignon to my seared ahi tuna salad. We are sure to be back often. read more
