Good location with easy access to nearby restaurants. Hotel seems fairly new and everything was as expected. No issues.

We do not recommend Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Lubbock Southwest at (6435 50th Street). The worst Marriott we have ever seen. Apparently, the thermostat is on a "motion sensor". After requesting another room, we quickly found that it didn't really matter because it still took 5 hours to cool our room. The thermostat is controlled by the hotel so if you want to sleep well stay somewhere else. Bed was very uncomfortable, pillows were lumpy, and toilet overflowed. Musty rooms. Hotel needs a major update. Emailed the front desk, with no response. Marriot should be embarrassed to be associated with these owners at this location. And the whole "I had to give them one star because zero stars wasn't an option" is so true in this instance. read more

BEWARE. Don't be a fool; make sure you take all of your belongings inside the hotel. We arrived at 1:40 am, and this happened by 6:30 am. The Glass Place in Lubbock says this happens at all hotels in Lubbock, TX--no glass to repair until we were in Utah. The hotel staff is super friendly. We spent a night here after a long day of driving in our car. Check in was quick and we were given a nice room on the 4th floor. The room was nicely decorated and other than a few loose threads where the carpet in the room met the threshold in the entry area the room was flawless. It had all the amenities one would want, a comfy big king size bed, a desk for my laptop, a nice big flat screen TV as well as the coffee maker and necessities for a nice hot mug to drink. The bathroom was large enough for both my wife and I to easily move around in and the big walk-in shower was a great spot to relax under a stream of warm water at the end of the day. There were plenty of towels, the only thing missing was tissues; perhaps the maid service just forgot to reload the box. Oh well, my wife always brings some for herself. The hotel is easy to find as long as you don't have an older GPS in the car like we do. It took us to the address on 50th Street but on the other side of the highway and it was only an empty dirt lot! My wife used her iPhone to guide us correctly so watch out for that. We didn't have much interaction with the hotel staff other than at check in but when we returned from dinner the ladies behind the counter greeted us and welcomed us back. We would stay here again based on this visit. read more

You have to pay for daily parking. We park our own car and there is no security. Was told this just started a few months ago. SURPRISE! This is the nosiest stay we have ever had. There is a large group of teenagers staying for a school trip. They are running up and down the halls. Screaming. There was a girl outside that was screaming help and said stop. We went out into the hallway. There are boys with one girl. One boy was on top of her tickling her. We had to tell them to knock it off. When she said no she means no. Upstairs sounds like they are running up and down. A lot of stomping. It is shaking the pictures in the wall. They are using the hallways as a hangout. We have complained but they are given so many times before they are asked to leave. Why can you not put students on the first floor? They are ruining others stay. read more

The rooms are very clean, and up to date. The only drawback was how dirty the fitness center was. There was no sanitizing stations or products and when I went to the front desk, they said they had none, but did offer some spray (which should have been placed in there with some hand sanitizer anyway). The yoga mat was unbelievably dirty, along with the floor. I always use the fitness center wherever we stay, so this is big for me. IF you don't, the hotel otherwise is great. read more

Great location and very modern, updated rooms. The 2 stars is all due to less-than-friendly staff. We booked adjoining rooms but were not given them. We booked 2Q beds but were given 1K rooms. A generous stranger offered to switch rooms and the front desk lady was annoyed. The young male working the front desk wouldn't wear a mask and took many breakfast items for his own use. When he closed breakfast early, we asked for items. He pulled them from his desk and was annoyed to do so. When we checked out, this same employee lied. I wanted the room charged to my Visa but he charged it to my AMEX--3 times! Based on the service, I would not stay here again. read more

This was the worst Marriott property I've stayed in. The front desk person was rude and made me feel as if I was taking up her time. The room had a stale odor and the morning breakfast was subpar. As we were going in to the hotel there was a party in the pool area, and I assume "hotel guests " were letting people into the pool from the parking lot ( not hotel guests). It was packed no room for paying customers. The front desk person did nothing. I highly recommend NOT STAYING HERE! There are many nice quality Marriott hotels.. this isn't one of them. read more

I stayed here about a year ago (spring 2023), and boy has this place gone down in the last year. Mostly, it's that it wasn't as clean as it should be. We couldn't see out the window, as it was just filthy. Also the shower was dirty. There were no Kleenex in the room. Fortunately, I won't be needing a hotel in Lubbock again. read more

While the front desk staff was nice, there were a lot of problems with this hotel. We checked into our room around midnight. I am not entirely sure our room was cleaned prior to us arriving. When we arrived, we had less than a quarter of a roll of toilet paper left. We had no body wash in the shower along with old shampoo streaks down the walls in the shower. There was still wet coffee spills on the window sill. There was a water bottle laying next to one of the beds and a chip crumbs on the floor. There was some type of black stain on one of the blankets. There was two stains on the wall to the left of the bed which could have either been blood or poop. The pool was said to open at 10am but on a Saturday morning , they decided to power wash the deck and put chemicals in the pool. This hotel was loud: there were cars drag racing up and down the street outside the hotel. You could hear the people above your room every step and even some conversations. It seemed as though they could not keep up with breakfast in the morning. Bring your ear plugs. read more

Gorgeous new FairField Marriott. I could tell it was new when the doors immediately opened. The staff is friend, the lobby is trendy and it also has a bar which most FairFields don't. The rooms are spacious and very clean. They include a fridge, coffee maker and 2 TV's. Breakfast is included from 6:30-9am on the weekdays, I don't know the weekend hours. read more

Can't believe I checked in yesterday afternoon and I wasn't even greeted by Lisa. I let her know I was here to check in... silence. About 2 min passed, no word from her. I am ask what I need to do to check in and she looked at me with such disdain to me to hold on cause she trying to fix her mask. Told her I was checking in for a family event, she told me she didn't need to hear that and just needed to see form of pmt and ID. I've never seen such rude behavior. I was told this is how she is, no rhyme or reason. She needs to just stay behind closed doors. I would never return her and have plenty of family events here to share this news. The fact that staff knows this is her behavior and still have her here is beyond me. read more

I checked in Friday night after booking a military rate of 104 per night. When checking in the lady at the front desk informed me there was no military leisure rate. I said ok well my Marriott app says there is a rate of 141 available. She then proceeds to tell me no the only rate was 285. when I said ok can you cancel that and I'll just book it with my app she said ok but it will still charge you 285. it was 10:15 pm and I had my daughter with me after driving 7 hours so I said fine ,but i want to speak to a manager when one comes in. No manager ever called me. They never had breakfast available. Then when checking out they charged me 3 times for enhanced Internet I didn't use. I was only there for 2 nights. No one called me to correct that like they said. They acted like they hated military and treated us so poorly because we were military. Our trip was suppose to only be 245 dollars and ended up 542. Very nice, new Marriott Fairfield hotel. Lovely bathroom, nice room and very clean, no excess noise and very conveniently located to shopping. Outdoor pool, fireplace and lounge area. All common areas are comfortable and nicely appointed. This is one of the better examples in the Fairfield line of Marriott properties. Very reasonably priced and I will be staying again. The ONLY negative is that there is no morning newspaper. read more

This is a good hotel if you just need a place to sleep with a good bed. The bathroom is nice and the backlit mirror is a nice modern touch. Where I took 2 stars off are for the breakfast. It's okay but that's about it. Also the Wi-Fi is weak. I was impressed that they have Netflix on the tv but it takes a minute or two for a show to load. Also it "connects" to my cell phone but it's so weak that literally nothing loads so I have to use my own data. Again, for a great sleep, it's a good hotel. For anything else, not so much. Hopefully they fix the WiFi for future guests. read more

We stayed here for our daughter's graduation from Texas Tech and the staff was absolutely AWESOME! We had planned a reception on the covered patio area that night but it was unseasonably cold and wet and they allowed us to use the big meeting room at no charges which worked out great for our party. Lisa, Shanna, Alex and the rest of the staff were outstanding and super helpful. Will always stay here when I travel to Lubbock for work in the future. read more

I requested a crib when I booked online and when we checked in I asked for someone to bring a crib up. The front desk employee said' hold on a minute and I'll get it for you'. I said 'no just have someone bring it up.' I already had all the bags to bring up and 3 kids there was no way for me to carry a crib up too. She said she was the only employee there at 7:00. So I said fine and she goes in the back room and comes back and said there's no cribs and asks if I would just like extra pillows. I said do you expect her to sleep on the floor?! She said no that I can just put them around the bed. From my experience, that doesn't work. The room was clean but the doors slam shut so I was woken up several times through the night and early morning. read more

This is a nice newer hotel. It's in a nice location surrounded by shops and good restaurants. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is ok. The reason I gave it two stars is because the drain in the shower was backing up. It was actually kind of gross. We called the gentleman at the front desk and since it was later in the evening all he could do was give us another room but didn't have a double queen room which we needed. So we stuck it out. The heater/cooler in the room was making a loud noise that kept waking me up in the middle of the night. In short, there are many nice, new hotels in the area. I would try a different one. read more

We made reservations for 2 rooms we had 3 kids and 4 adults, arrive at hotel and they put us in single bed rooms, asked for roll away beds and they did not have any, it was very small and the staff had not answers for us, also they over charged us by a lot of money. I sent email to them after they emailed stating someone would get ahold of us but never did. Definitely won't ever stay here again read more
