Looking for a place to feed your Ramen, Sushi, Asian appetite. This is the place. On a quiet August…read moreSunday we walked in for the first time and waited to be seated. The wait was less than 10 minutes. From our table I could see the sushi chef and bartender taking extra care in their craft. The food was delicious. My wife ordered the Spicy Beef Ramen and requested "low spice". Her first sip took her breath away and she began coughing. The waitress picked up the dish and came back with a "no spice" Beef Ramen that still had plenty of depth and heat. The vibe was welcome and inviting. If I had a negative critique, it would be that the food came out in no specific order. However I prefer that over food that gets staged in the kitchen long enough to get cold while waiting its turn. Price was $88.00 plus tip for 3 people, but was loved every bite.

We finally approached the bartender and asked if we were to seat ourselves. They hesitated for a moment and called someone to come help us. We continued waiting another few minutes and a server came and put our name on the list. Though the restaurant was about 30% seated we waited about 20 minutes. We were sat and our server told us it'd be a minute longer before she could get to us. We sat at the table closest to the open air kitchen. Server showed up after us waiting another 5 minutes. We ordered and the food came up quickly and everything looked and smelled amazing. The gyoza came out hot and very flavorful. The pho looked better than it tasted, it was bland though the vegetables and proteins were cooked good. The flavor was more like a broth, it lacked substance, umami and depth as I expected. The prices are a bit high, the environment was bright and loud, definitely not a place for that first date. But great place if you and your friends are wanting to sit and talk loudly to each other. Overall not the best but a good place to take someone who's not expecting real traditional flavors.

The sushi is so fresh and flavorful which is why it's easily one of my favorite spots to recommend. This time, we decided to get four different rolls and split everything so we could try a little bit of each. We got the Tiger Roll, Kampai Roll, Volcano Roll, and Coo Coo Nest Roll, and every single one was SO good. Each roll had such a different combination of flavors and textures, so it was fun getting to try them all. The fish tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful with the pairings. Kampai is definitely a must-try if you're a sushi lover, and it's one of my go-to recommendations whenever someone asks where to get great sushi!

I got some seaweed salad and my friend told me I had to try their scallops. Inside was cool and eclectic as you walk through curtains to get in to the main dining room. It's romantically dim, and the vibe is perfect for date nights. I told the chef it was my birthday, that I'm not picky, and to please make me his favorite roll. He did not disappoint! He made me their house special roll with 4 amazing pieces of nigiri, and we also ordered a few more rolls on top of that. We all got to talking and I asked him if he could make me a quail egg shooter! He obliged, commenting that no one ever orders them and that he was surprised I liked them and knew what they were. I then asked if they had any salmon skin for a salmon skin hand roll, but they did not because it was not the day that they received and cut the salmon. Understandable. Maybe next time. Honestly, this is so far my favorite sushi joint in Columbia and the chef was truly amazing. I can't wait to go back.
