We had the best experience with the electrician Zachary E. First, we enjoyed reading the profile summary that told us a little bit about him! We thought that was a nice personal touch. He was quick getting to our house and quick with finding the problem to both of our AC units. Turns out the AC people had the wiring all wrong and after two AC guys came out and couldn't figure out what was wrong- we are soooo appreciative Zach came to the rescue. He was fast and efficient, found the problem and took care of it. We finally have AC in our new home thanks to Zachary! We are so grateful. Thank you Zach so much! Do not hire BOLT Electric. They did a very sloppy job, overcharged us, and treated us poorly. We (my mom in her 80s, my special needs brother, and myself) hired BOLT in March of 2025. We suffered damage to our home due to Hurricane Helene. The electric was not damaged, but our home's electric was from the 60s, and BOLT said we needed a whole-home rewire. We were desperate to get construction started and get permits approved. Our first mistake was not getting a second option or estimate. Later, we discovered that they overcharged us by 20 to 30 thousand dollars according to industry-standard pricing. They allowed a new electrician at their company to handle our project with no oversight; he was not an Ace at his job. BOLT removed electric outlets in several places in the home and did not replace them. BOLT left an outlet in the bathroom with the old wiring in the wall and just put a plate over it to "make it go away". All light switches and outlets in our home are at random heights. Here is the worst example. There were no outlets or switches on this wall (next to the sink) before they started. The project manager pointed out at our initial meeting that the conduit running along the wall in front of our home was unseemly, and he does not do things like that. After they completed their work, we have conduit running to our porch lights because BOLT took out the old electric lines and did not replace them, and this was their fix. BOLT stepped on an air conditioning line in the attic, told no one, blamed it on condensation. We had to have our garage ceiling fixed. BOLT crushed the ductwork in the attic, and we had to have it all replaced. The electrician we hired to clean up Bolt's mess told us the outlets they used were not appropriate and we had to have several replaced as well as drywall and painting done. BOLT installed the hood vent wiring off-center. BOLT broke one of our new kitchen cabinets installing the stove. BOLT refused to install the dishwasher; "it was the contractor's problem". BOLT also treated my contractor horribly. My belief is that they had an issue with their ethnicity. Any issue we had with the finishes in the home was treated as our fault or we should have known to communicate the problems they created to the contractor. BOLT refused to speak to the contractor about construction requirements in the kitchen; my 80-year-old mother was used as a go-between them though all three of them were in the house at the same time. We moved back into our home in December 2025, though it was still under construction. We could not afford renting anymore. We told BOLT we were moving home. BOLT chose not to turn on the breaker for the hot water heater. We were concerned about touching the panel as it was horribly mislabeled, and the house was still a construction zone. It took BOLT several attempts to label the electric panel correctly. They priced gouged us, costing us $ 15,574.99 plus to fix their mistakes. We thought speaking to the owner, Patrick, would finally get them to do the right thing but after several requests for a meeting, we were finally told by BOLT's office staff that he has nothing to do with the running of the company. He just poses in sunglasses with his chin up holding his jacket for the website. This leaves his staff to do whatever awful things they want to do to the public. They waited for the electric inspection to pass (it took 2 attempts) and then we were ghosted. I believe they saw a widow and her family suffering a devastating loss from a natural disaster as a way to do a cheap job for money. My mom has been hospitalized several times due to the stress this whole situation has caused our family. Do not hire this BOLT; they will not be honest; they will blame you whenever they can. We did try mediation, but the person "in charge" does not like confrontation, as explained by the office staff; that is why he ran out of the meeting after less than 5 minutes. read more

I ran into an issue with an older panel that wasn't operating properly. I called Bolt electric and the very next day they came out to take a look at our situation. He was very knowledgeable, and explained everything in a way that I could understand. It was essentially a show and tell on my own panel. I had no idea that my panel was one of four panels that are obsolete and considered dangerous and uninsurable. The technician found several non-code compliant issues. He was very thorough. However, their quote was over 170% more than 3 other electricians. Additionally, the permit fee they quoted was double what the county charges. Unless they're using silver or gold conductor its certainly not worth the hiked up price. This company is quite savvy and kind before they get your money. Dean came to our home to do an estimate. He seemed kind, knowledgeable & helpful. He said they have "the best guys" and he'd be supervising the project that we were paying $4500 CASH for. They had to switch out our electrical panel & add 3 outlets to designated areas that we requested. On July 27, two electricians came out. The job was estimated to take about 4-5 hours where we would not have power. We found a place to go with our 2 toddlers. My husband was on medication at the time that needed to be administered at certain times so we were counting on this time frame and didn't take it with us. Our power ended up being out about 7.5 hours with NO communication from them that it would be extended. I had to keep calling to ask if they were done. Then we were told they'd have to come back the following day to complete the job, taking way over the estimated amount of time. Next, they added an outlet in a place we didn't ask, put the other outlet in the wrong spot and then didn't replace an outlet but charged us for it. Any person knows that a ground wire must be 1 complete wire. The one guy split the wire and had to rewire and bury a new line. I thought these were the best guys. Apparently he had only been with the company a month. After our job was done, we were told that the other electrician had been fired. They were horrible at communicating. They left our house on the 2nd day with no communication to say they were done, but they clearly weren't because we still had issues. I was told that on 8/9 I would be called by a manager to discuss our issues and receive a refund for the work that wasn't done & the terrible customer service experience from the electricians. They still have drywall that they need to fix where the put a hole in our ceiling when they came back to make a repair. It is now 8/18 and I have left SIX messages with their call answering service bc you can't get through to a Bolt employee anywhere. Katie- the girl who seemed super sweet & helpful at first stopped responding to my texts after she said I would get the call from the manager. I have sent her about 5 messages as well. Nick was a HUGE help to us in getting my new dining room light hung and changing the wiring in an electrical outlet. For some reason, the dining room light was also attached to an outlet, so anytime we turned the light off it would also turn the electrical outlet off ... not helpful. I sent out a request for quotes on Angie's List and Bolt was one of two companies to respond, and they won my business simply because they were willing to come out and look at the issue before charging us anything for their time (the other company was going to charge us $99 just to come out and look at the problem). I had also bought a dimmer for the dining room light, so he installed that for me at no additional cost. He and his assistant were in and out within an hour, and cleaned up after themselves and were respectful the whole time' answered all of our questions and also gave us an estimate on moving our electrical box out of the bathroom/laundry room since we eventually want to do that as well. Overall, extremely happy with the cost for moving the electrical outlet off the light switch, installing the dining room light AND the dimmer switch. If we need any more electrical projects done we're definitely calling Bolt first! read more

These guys were just busted on News Channel 8. They charged a woman more than $1,000 to install four smoke detectors. The alarms cost $8 each and with an hour of labor the price should have been $50. And they threatened her with a lien on her house if she didn't pay the $1,000. They claimed it was a new billing system that the employees didn't fully understand. Yeah, right. According to a NBC8 Tampa News story, these people charged a 86 year old lady over $1000.00 in install 4 smoke-detecters in her home. The detectors retail for about $25.00/each at any big-box store. So...a $200/service call plus the detectors should have been about $300.00 at the most. They refused to "make this right" even after a family member intervened. What kind of business treats anyone like this and rips people off like this? Especially someone who is a senior citizen. You be the judge. Not happy at all! Bolt Electric has completely ignored my calls and scheduled and missed appointments with me a total of 4 times. I called Bolt Electric out in August because my pool pump kept cutting off. They explained that I would need to replace the pool pump (which I did) but they ran new wires and replaced the inside parts to my pool timer. They charged me over $300.00. At first, on about every 3rd day, the pool timer would not automatically turn on in the morning, I had to manually turn it on. (It had always worked prior to Bolt Electric working on it) Then it stopped turning on every day. That is when I called Bolt and asked them to come back to fix the issue. They initially did not call me back, so I called them again. This time, they scheduled an appointment to have a technician come back to repair the timer. The day before the appointment, they texted and said that they would have to reschedule. The day before the 2nd appointment, same thing. I received a text from their office, explaining that this was a busy time of year. They needed to reschedule a 3rd time. On the day of the 3rd appointment, they did not show up. I received an automated text saying that my technician would be out the following day, making this my 4th appointment. I immediately called them, and their answering service took my information, complaint, and said that someone would be in touch with me, but no one ever called. Also, no one ever showed up on the 4th appointment, and I never heard from them again. Save yourself the frustration. Do not call Bolt Electric. read more
