Absolutely obsessed! They partnered with Kona Deep Water today and were giving out free waters!

Let me start out by saying that I have a dance and cheerleading background. This was my first class at Pure Barre but I've taken bar classes before. This one is definitely my favorite though! What do you wear? Most girls were in leggings and a tank top or tshirt. The one guy in the class was wearing Workout shorts and a tshirt. Who was there? The class I took was full (20 people). My fear was that it was going to be dancers galore but it actually wasn't. There was a mixture of people! Some who you could definitely had taken the class many times, but then a handful who had looked like it was their first or second class. The staff was AMAZING! Katie was at the front desk and explained everything super well, and made me feel very welcomed. My favorite part was that she introduced me to the instructor (Belle). Belle continuously checked on me throughout the class without making me feel like I didn't know what I was doing. Her energy was amazing, and it was definitely one of the best workouts I've had in a very long time! I LOVE PURE BARRE!

She makes sure you get the moves while also keeping the environment supportive, comfortable, and celebratory. I love when she gets so excited that she literally starts screaming because someone in class is going off. She celebrates people constantly, by name or even just noticing something they're rocking like, "Yes, GREEN JUMPSUIT!" Being the only guy in the class, I've never once felt isolated, judged, or uncomfortable about assumptions people might make about me. I've only ever felt celebrated. It was refreshing not having to navigate that in a public place. She encourages fluidity in whatever way feels right for you, whether it's super masc, super feminine, or somewhere in between. Her focus is helping you connect to your artistic dance spirit, and that's when you know you're doing it right. She also celebrates neurodiversity and really focuses on what the strengths are within that, while also helping people navigate certain challenges. Karma's class is more than just learning choreography. Watching her dance is witnessing powerful, raw, and inspiring artistry. When she demos, it honestly feels like a mini performance during class. Then when she dances with us right after, you feel like this epic backup dancer, and it inspires new moves and articulations within you. There's also a strong sense of community in Karma's class. She's built a culture where you not only bring self-love to the class, but appreciation and love for the people dancing alongside you. Someone might be doing a twerk, an offbeat wild move on their chair, or some epic crawl across the floor, and the whole class erupts with roaring encouragement. Karma encourages asking questions about the dance moves and routines. She absolutely loves them. But remember, she's an A-type personality, so be sure to raise your hand. ; ] She's also a motivational instructor because she's real. She doesn't say generic things. Sometimes she shares philosophies or lessons that helped her in life, and I've caught myself thinking, "How is this level of Impacting dialogue happening in a chair dance class?" It's a one-of-a-kind experience that involves a chair, saucy moves, and surprising moments of human-centered community, full of loving people hosted by the radiant Karma!

I also appreciated her focus on hip hop fundamentals like popping and waving as part of our warmup. While I enjoyed the class, I think it would have been intimidating if it was my first time setting foot in a dance studio. I would encourage the front desk employees to greet first time visitors and give them a brief rundown of the space, where to place your belongings, what to expect from class, etc. A lot of the people in the class seemed to know each other already which just shows you how popular these classes are. I hope to return soon!

The staff was friendly, studio was cozy with ample equipment, and the instructor Francesca was wonderful. As with any chain with many locations, the quality of the individual studio and instructor 100% determines class quality. Cons- Parking is $4 there is no street parking option. The free "intro class" is a 30 min explanation of how to use the reformer, not an actual class. Good for beginners.

As a beginner to Pilates, I wanted to try out Club Pilates and other Pilates studios in the area to…read morea) find a home studio, b) learn about my strengths and weaknesses, and c) find an instructor or class that fit my fitness goal. I signed up for the free Intro class, which had a nice and attentive instructor that took the time to introduce herself and ask each of us personally if we had injuries or other physical conditions to worry about when it came to the class. While I did like her as an instructor, the intro class was level 1 exercises that I found a bit too easy, and personally, I wanted to see if they offered more difficult classes that would be tailored to my fitness goals and abilities before committing. Club Pilates kindly offered to let me try a full-length level 1.5 class for free, which I deeply appreciated, but that's where I feel conflicted about my experience so far at this location. I LOVED the workout - it was physically challenging but manageable for me, and was really well balanced when it came to targeting different parts of the body. However, the instructor really wasn't the nicest (to both me and the other attendees), and I walked out in a bad mental state and not wanting to return again. I've been to two other studios with both harder and easier sessions than that day, but all the instructors I had were very kind, encouraging and gentle (not saying I need to be coddled, I swear I do appreciate a correction whenever necessary) while being extremely attentive to my physical needs and abilities without singling me out or making me feel like I was getting picked on. I also feel like the corporate nature of Club Pilates extends into how their employees (both the instructors and front desk girls) treat the attendees, as they really weren't that helpful or interactive, and just shuffled us out the door with a membership promotion flyer without really getting to know us. I do think there's perks of joining Club Pilates (lots of locations, standardized equipment) but personally, I think I'll stick to a studio that humanizes and encourages my personal journey of fitness a little more kindly.

This studio is designed beautifully and the theme stays consistent with the other 2 existing studios. They offer both reformers and mat pilates in one studio! They also have plenty of cubbies for you to store your belongings and infrared saunas available for purchase. I have taken classes with various instructors at each of the 3 studios. I found that although they all have different styles of teaching, they are all challenging yet enjoyable. They are not unreasonably challenging and will offer modifications as needed. Most instructors do most of the workout with you, especially in mat pilates, and are great with hands-on correction. They also really know how to incorporate props such as the ball, ankle weights, hand weights, etc. into the workout. By far, one of my favorite pilates studios in West LA!
