Deep breaths are like little love notes to our bodies. "Life is all about balance!" #yogasocks

Perched not too far from the hills of Hollywood and just west of Hollywood proper is Hot 8 Yoga. I found parking in the car park, which is also validated for 2 hours. Checking in was a piece of pie; I put my belongings in a locker and the code I'll never tell. I borrowed a mat and towel; everything in great, like-new condition. All classes are 95-105 degrees Fahrenheit (35-40.6 in Celsius, in case you were wondering). I walked into the class held in studio 3 and found a spot towards the front of the room. I took the sculpt class. I'm embarrassed, I don't remember the instructors name. He kept the class nicely heated and very upbeat. This class was a mix of cardio and yoga using ones breathe to increase strength. Sweat dripping down onto my mat/yoga towel with every pose, and all while making sure I was connecting movement with every breath taken. I used 2lb and 3lb weights during this class plus one block as instructed. Let's just say my abs were on fire and my legs were hungover the next day. Keep in mind the heat does generate your heart rate to rise and boosting ones metabolism. In my reusable cup, I had 9.5 ph water for hydration and sipped when needed. They have Himalayan salt shots to help aid with ultra hydration and to replenish electrolytes. In addition, they have coconut water for purchase. The Eucalyptus towels were energizing. Eucalyptus is amazing for so many great things from an immune stimulant to joint muscle reliever. Work and relationships, we all have obligations to the world, but it is equally important that we take care of ourselves as the world will continue to turn no matter what. So, leave your shoes and everything on your mind at the front door. After hot yoga, I felt like a new woman (I also get this feeling after my weekly massage). I am happy to report that everything was clean and tidy from workout rooms to washrooms. They really do go the extra mile and another for good measure. Are you still reading this. What are you waiting for!?! When is the last time you tried something new for the first time? As they would say in Scotland: My Lord, My Lady, thy presence is requested. #IBendSoIDontBreak #MovementIsMedicine #Gr8ful "Yoga isn't about touching your toes it is what you learn on the way down!" TIPS: 2 hour parking validated Rent mat, microfiber towel, and shower towels FUN FACTS: They have the most advanced heating system --UV-C lights kill 99.98% of harmful airborne microorganisms including bacteria and viruses as per their website states. I use magnesium oil as deodorant; it with holds the heat generated inside the rooms and any workout for that matter.

Hot 8 Yoga lives up to its name. There were 8 hotties there, for sure. And if you stayed long enough, you became a hottie, too. I've got the Hot 8 yoga experience for the first time. It was one to remember. The location is good, with safe underground Parking. The clean space gives one the feel of a high-end day spa. We entered from the garage, and the door to the spa was a little tricky to find. Once we got in, the staff was smiling and welcoming. Our group was supplied with everything we needed for an excellent Hot 8 yoga experience; the cool, eucalyptus towels made a big difference for me After a few failed attempts at tree pose, I finally got my balance, and I could rise above the heat into a meditative state to help me complete this session. I can't lie for a moment; I thought about quitting as I became a hottie, too. I felt a little disoriented after I left the hot box room, as one feels after a full body massage. I'm glad I stayed until the end and was offered a face and bath towel to take a much-needed shower before I left. Overall, it was a 10 out of 10 experience; the ambiance was an East meets West cultural fusion experience. Hot 8 Yoga reminded me of a spa in a five-star hotel. It had all the amenities that One could ask for, and it had lockers with customizable combinations. I am thankful for the heat and steam and for what it took out of me because I had one of the best nights of sleep, and I felt like a hottie the next day. #hot8yoga @hot8yoga

Brand new with free 2 hour validated parking, although there is free street parking in the area as well. Love that they have showers to freshen up after a sweaty workout! Came for a Yelp Elite event for my first time doing hot yoga. I'm not new to yoga, but definitely hydrate because the class was challenging and the humidity put it over the top! I was sweating bullets within a handful of minutes and had to duck out during the last handful of minutes for fear of passing out. Love that they have ice cold eucalyptus infused face towels in the fridge to help recover. I may need to work my way up to doing hot 8 yoga again!

They do not believe in yoga being accessible to everyone. That's a core principle of Yoga. They also do not believe in refunds as shared by their SF rep, even if they are in the wrong and tell you they will refund you, like they did to me, they do tactics like future time stamped corporate contracts or suspension forms. New update: they sent the check to a name that doesn't exist after sharing the correct name and them acknowledging it. Def have to take to small claims. If i were to deposit check, I would be legally in trouble. Very unethical, beyond unethical. Update: now forced to use mediation since they never refunded my bank... They still have not refunded me even after admitting and then stating they would refund. Checked with my bank and they never did. Then they said after a month and a follow up with bank that they couldn't refund it.... A bunch of lies. This is not a family owned business but rather a predatory corporation that is continuing to extend their anti consumer practices. Check out their F status on BBB.

I love the cleanliness and sleek design of this studio. They had everything you can think of to make your workout better. Showers, cold towels, they had water for purchase and even had a blow dryer and lotion for after showers. There's a parking garage attached to the studio however parking is still hard to come by so I would say get there at least 15 mins before your class to get a spot. The staff were nice and made us feel welcomed and were so informative! Definitely a great experience and would bring my friends back for a good work out!

The lady at the front desk refused to let me in even though I had signed the waiver beforehand, had all my own equipment and explained I had just driven a long distance to get there. She wouldn't budge. She said it was a "safety issue" which is a joke -- it's a glorified dance class with free weights, so it's not like you're using a Reformer or in a heated room where extra precautions may be warranted. Regardless, I already signed the waiver! To add insult to injury, another student had checked in right before me and was putting her items away in the lockers as we were having this discussion, so obviously was able to go in late. The rigidness of this policy and the associate's attitude was so off-putting that I won't be going back. Who knew being 2 minutes late would cost me $22 in ClassPass credits, an additional late fee and 45 minutes of unnecessary driving. Way to ruin a morning!

I started going to AKT WEHO in December of 21, I signed up on a 3 month commitment plan. $99 the first month, followed by two months of $159 You get first month unlimited, followed by 8 classes a month - All seemed great and lovely, i used the app which is super easy to set up. I started going twice a week and honestly - it was great. The space is clean, the people are friendly. It was a great experience! However, when I had covid and wanted to cancel my membership as my schedule at work changed I was dealt with poorly to say the least. I reached out via email to notify them that i no longer wanted to continue - The manager Brian decided that he'd try to sway my mind. Which i explained that I did not want to do - Instead of cancelling - he charged me a further two months of $159 I went back and forth many times with him via email, however he was rude and ignored me many times - and to this day refuses to refund. I would highly recommend AKT but not the weho location mainly because (from my experience) the manager Brian is money hungry & rude -  if this didn't happen i would probably have come back in a few month once things settled down.

I figured the Full Body class would mostly be dancing of some sort. This class was a combination of mat work and dance cardio (with lots of jumping, so high impact). It's one of those classes that you have to come often to figure out the routine. I was the only new comer in the class and it was pretty obvious, which was okay. I didn't find it awkward. Instructor and receptionist: I didn't catch the receptionists name when I entered, but he was really friendly and made me feel welcomed, which I appreciated a lot. I had Lauren as an instructor, she was very personable and friendly. She has a great attitude, did all the moves and was able to help correct my form. The only comment I would like to add was that the music was too loud at times to hear what she was saying (or maybe that's how the class is designed...?) The studio: It's a cute, clean studio with showers in the top level. I really appreciate them having showers, because it seems like it's very difficult to find a boutique studio that offers showers, even though you pay about $30 per class. I thought the shower situation was a little awkward. There are two showers in the same small room with a washer and dryer. After class, two of us showered, but I waited until the other person showered (I didn't feel comfortable showering next to someone else with no shower curtain, only clear doors). Parking: we all know that parking in WeHo is impossible and expensive, but they recommend a lot about a block away with parking being free the first hour. I ended up paying $3 though because it took me about an hour and twenty minutes. Overall, if you like high impact work like jumping and dancing I think you would enjoy this place.

I think this studio may only allow a few slots for ClassPass members, because it's always full right as the window opens for booking for ClassPass members. It's worth the effort to plan ahead. I did a Trampoline Cardio class and it was so much fun. Amazing workout, really fun and a great sweat.

There's always been different receptionists each time and they have been kind. There are small lockers at check-in, and large mirrors, showers, hair ties, lotion, shaving cream, q-tips, and a hair dryer in the restroom. Our instructor, Omar, is very personable and makes newcomers feel welcome. He announced he now only teaches BoxUnion Burn (1 Hr) at 10:45 AM on Saturdays. I was nervous at first, especially seeing the dark room, LED lights, and loud music. I get overstimulated easily, but they offer ear plugs and I liked how spacious it was. You'll need to rent gloves and wraps ($10-15 each) unless you bring your own. After my first class, I invested in them and a ClassPass membership (they have their own too) since I only come once a week and don't live nearby. There wasn't a lot of room in the class so it would have been great if Stephanie moved off to the side and let the students watch their form in the mirror. I think it also would have been great if she provided more descriptive detail - "jump here" doesn't tell me what foot goes in front of which foot or where I should feel it. Or if we're doing Abbs and I cannot see you please let me know if my head is up or down and don't roll your eyes when I ask. Hahahaha Once we got to the trampoline - I finally broke a sweat. Not dirty or anything, but just nothing to write home about. They have tea and water and some black apparel and random pointe shoes everywhere (god knows why). The front desk girl showed me around the studio after apologizing for assuming I wasn't using my real name(???) and there's no door to the actual studio so you just kind of mosey back. Class was pretty full and the dancer that was teaching (super fit, definitely a trained dancer, NOT. AN. INSTRUCTOR) didn't introduce herself or ask anyone's names. Jumped right into some pretty basic ballet routines if you have a background, but if you don't -- godspeed. At no point did she go around, provide corrections or modifications, which is why I say she was not an instructor. After a couple uninspired, repetitive floor routines to upbeat pop music, the trampolines came out. Trampolines. We were doing ballet choreography...to top 40 hits...on trampolines. The dancer that was teaching didn't have a trampoline though, so she just showed us the gist on the floor. I can't make this up. It was just...honestly....awful.
