Deep breaths are like little love notes to our bodies. "Life is all about balance!" #yogasocks

Perched not too far from the hills of Hollywood and just west of Hollywood proper is Hot 8 Yoga. I found parking in the car park, which is also validated for 2 hours. Checking in was a piece of pie; I put my belongings in a locker and the code I'll never tell. I borrowed a mat and towel; everything in great, like-new condition. All classes are 95-105 degrees Fahrenheit (35-40.6 in Celsius, in case you were wondering). I walked into the class held in studio 3 and found a spot towards the front of the room. I took the sculpt class. I'm embarrassed, I don't remember the instructors name. He kept the class nicely heated and very upbeat. This class was a mix of cardio and yoga using ones breathe to increase strength. Sweat dripping down onto my mat/yoga towel with every pose, and all while making sure I was connecting movement with every breath taken. I used 2lb and 3lb weights during this class plus one block as instructed. Let's just say my abs were on fire and my legs were hungover the next day. Keep in mind the heat does generate your heart rate to rise and boosting ones metabolism. In my reusable cup, I had 9.5 ph water for hydration and sipped when needed. They have Himalayan salt shots to help aid with ultra hydration and to replenish electrolytes. In addition, they have coconut water for purchase. The Eucalyptus towels were energizing. Eucalyptus is amazing for so many great things from an immune stimulant to joint muscle reliever. Work and relationships, we all have obligations to the world, but it is equally important that we take care of ourselves as the world will continue to turn no matter what. So, leave your shoes and everything on your mind at the front door. After hot yoga, I felt like a new woman (I also get this feeling after my weekly massage). I am happy to report that everything was clean and tidy from workout rooms to washrooms. They really do go the extra mile and another for good measure. Are you still reading this. What are you waiting for!?! When is the last time you tried something new for the first time? As they would say in Scotland: My Lord, My Lady, thy presence is requested. #IBendSoIDontBreak #MovementIsMedicine #Gr8ful "Yoga isn't about touching your toes it is what you learn on the way down!" TIPS: 2 hour parking validated Rent mat, microfiber towel, and shower towels FUN FACTS: They have the most advanced heating system --UV-C lights kill 99.98% of harmful airborne microorganisms including bacteria and viruses as per their website states. I use magnesium oil as deodorant; it with holds the heat generated inside the rooms and any workout for that matter.

Hot 8 Yoga lives up to its name. There were 8 hotties there, for sure. And if you stayed long enough, you became a hottie, too. I've got the Hot 8 yoga experience for the first time. It was one to remember. The location is good, with safe underground Parking. The clean space gives one the feel of a high-end day spa. We entered from the garage, and the door to the spa was a little tricky to find. Once we got in, the staff was smiling and welcoming. Our group was supplied with everything we needed for an excellent Hot 8 yoga experience; the cool, eucalyptus towels made a big difference for me After a few failed attempts at tree pose, I finally got my balance, and I could rise above the heat into a meditative state to help me complete this session. I can't lie for a moment; I thought about quitting as I became a hottie, too. I felt a little disoriented after I left the hot box room, as one feels after a full body massage. I'm glad I stayed until the end and was offered a face and bath towel to take a much-needed shower before I left. Overall, it was a 10 out of 10 experience; the ambiance was an East meets West cultural fusion experience. Hot 8 Yoga reminded me of a spa in a five-star hotel. It had all the amenities that One could ask for, and it had lockers with customizable combinations. I am thankful for the heat and steam and for what it took out of me because I had one of the best nights of sleep, and I felt like a hottie the next day. #hot8yoga @hot8yoga

Brand new with free 2 hour validated parking, although there is free street parking in the area as well. Love that they have showers to freshen up after a sweaty workout! Came for a Yelp Elite event for my first time doing hot yoga. I'm not new to yoga, but definitely hydrate because the class was challenging and the humidity put it over the top! I was sweating bullets within a handful of minutes and had to duck out during the last handful of minutes for fear of passing out. Love that they have ice cold eucalyptus infused face towels in the fridge to help recover. I may need to work my way up to doing hot 8 yoga again!

They do not believe in yoga being accessible to everyone. That's a core principle of Yoga. They also do not believe in refunds as shared by their SF rep, even if they are in the wrong and tell you they will refund you, like they did to me, they do tactics like future time stamped corporate contracts or suspension forms. New update: they sent the check to a name that doesn't exist after sharing the correct name and them acknowledging it. Def have to take to small claims. If i were to deposit check, I would be legally in trouble. Very unethical, beyond unethical. Update: now forced to use mediation since they never refunded my bank... They still have not refunded me even after admitting and then stating they would refund. Checked with my bank and they never did. Then they said after a month and a follow up with bank that they couldn't refund it.... A bunch of lies. This is not a family owned business but rather a predatory corporation that is continuing to extend their anti consumer practices. Check out their F status on BBB.

I love the cleanliness and sleek design of this studio. They had everything you can think of to make your workout better. Showers, cold towels, they had water for purchase and even had a blow dryer and lotion for after showers. There's a parking garage attached to the studio however parking is still hard to come by so I would say get there at least 15 mins before your class to get a spot. The staff were nice and made us feel welcomed and were so informative! Definitely a great experience and would bring my friends back for a good work out!

The space, the people, the location and the vibe are all in line with what I look for in an ideal workout experience. Yoga and pilates classes for all skill levels with comfortable and welcoming instructors and students alike is the big draw for me. I started with morning yoga classes where I was most comfortable and then added Elizabeth's 'Pure Sculpt' to my regime, -which is a mixture of mat pilates and ballet barre techniques. I've been seeing such great results and love my yoga teacher Rie so much I decided to try her Pole classes out as well. I'm pretty shy and had no interest, but my girlfriend encouraged me to go to a class with her and it wasn't what I expected. Rie is really fun and positive and immediately makes everyone feel comfortable. It's a very good workout for an individual and also very empowering for the group. We warm up with mat exercises and stretching, Rie choreographs dance routines and pole tricks to suit our level, sometimes she brings fun tutus and accessories to play with and even took us platform heel shopping. =) Libby's 'Candlelight Kundalini ' yoga is more about mind and soul, connecting to your body through meditation, while still providing a solid workout. I have yet to try Carolina Cerisola's burlesque class. I hear they dress up with boas and gloves and you learn a whole dance routine, how fun!

The space is immaculate, closer to a million dollar home from a modern design magazine then a workout space. The roof deck is a great bonus. It's a very welcoming environment, even for men. Before signing up at a big gym you should at least check out Movement Studio. It really is impressive.

Starting with super sweet and friendly customer service from Hagar. Jordan checks me in and was sweet too. Also want to shout out the maintenance guy Elijah. He was also cool, helpful and has the entire place immaculate. For my class, Philip was our instructor. He was really good. I'd do his class again. But I'm looking forward to returning and trying both other types of classes and instructors. Overall, I definitely recommend it for a great sweat. Parking is offered which is of course great here in Los Angeles.

First, I want to make clear this review is solely about the corporate office, which has been taken…read moreover by greedy people who show zero integrity in running a business. The irony of them being in charge of a yoga business is not lost on me. As for any people thinking of joining this studio. You are and will be FINANCIAL PREY as long as you interact with this business. That said, the front desk staff and teachers and individual studio managers are amazing and deserve way more appreciation than they get, and maybe it's time for them to really think hard about that. The new people in corporate will lie, reneg on promises made, and make fraudulent charges with no hesitation in doing so. They agreed to a certain rate for my membership, and although it was never discussed or agreed upon, they downgraded my membership tier without ever disclosing it. I have emails that back this up. However, this isn't one instance. Since the new corporate team has moved in, I have had several charges added to my account that I didn't agree to, I've spoken to people who have experienced the same, and the corporate staff hide behind the people working at the front desk, leaving those workers to deal with clients angered about it because they are too cowardly to answer for their own actions. I cannot in good faith recommend this studio to anyone, and I've been a member since 2014 (which means nothing to them). The new corporate team came in only recently. I suggest everyone here vote with their dollars, which are becoming more and more precious in this economy. Stay conscious in who you offer your money to, and stay aligned with your personal integrity, because this studio has none, in my opinion.

The lady at the front desk refused to let me in even though I had signed the waiver beforehand, had all my own equipment and explained I had just driven a long distance to get there. She wouldn't budge. She said it was a "safety issue" which is a joke -- it's a glorified dance class with free weights, so it's not like you're using a Reformer or in a heated room where extra precautions may be warranted. Regardless, I already signed the waiver! To add insult to injury, another student had checked in right before me and was putting her items away in the lockers as we were having this discussion, so obviously was able to go in late. The rigidness of this policy and the associate's attitude was so off-putting that I won't be going back.
