Deep breaths are like little love notes to our bodies. "Life is all about balance!" #yogasocks

Perched not too far from the hills of Hollywood and just west of Hollywood proper is Hot 8 Yoga. I found parking in the car park, which is also validated for 2 hours. Checking in was a piece of pie; I put my belongings in a locker and the code I'll never tell. I borrowed a mat and towel; everything in great, like-new condition. All classes are 95-105 degrees Fahrenheit (35-40.6 in Celsius, in case you were wondering). I walked into the class held in studio 3 and found a spot towards the front of the room. I took the sculpt class. I'm embarrassed, I don't remember the instructors name. He kept the class nicely heated and very upbeat. This class was a mix of cardio and yoga using ones breathe to increase strength. Sweat dripping down onto my mat/yoga towel with every pose, and all while making sure I was connecting movement with every breath taken. I used 2lb and 3lb weights during this class plus one block as instructed. Let's just say my abs were on fire and my legs were hungover the next day. Keep in mind the heat does generate your heart rate to rise and boosting ones metabolism. In my reusable cup, I had 9.5 ph water for hydration and sipped when needed. They have Himalayan salt shots to help aid with ultra hydration and to replenish electrolytes. In addition, they have coconut water for purchase. The Eucalyptus towels were energizing. Eucalyptus is amazing for so many great things from an immune stimulant to joint muscle reliever. Work and relationships, we all have obligations to the world, but it is equally important that we take care of ourselves as the world will continue to turn no matter what. So, leave your shoes and everything on your mind at the front door. After hot yoga, I felt like a new woman (I also get this feeling after my weekly massage). I am happy to report that everything was clean and tidy from workout rooms to washrooms. They really do go the extra mile and another for good measure. Are you still reading this. What are you waiting for!?! When is the last time you tried something new for the first time? As they would say in Scotland: My Lord, My Lady, thy presence is requested. #IBendSoIDontBreak #MovementIsMedicine #Gr8ful "Yoga isn't about touching your toes it is what you learn on the way down!" TIPS: 2 hour parking validated Rent mat, microfiber towel, and shower towels FUN FACTS: They have the most advanced heating system --UV-C lights kill 99.98% of harmful airborne microorganisms including bacteria and viruses as per their website states. I use magnesium oil as deodorant; it with holds the heat generated inside the rooms and any workout for that matter.

Hot 8 Yoga lives up to its name. There were 8 hotties there, for sure. And if you stayed long enough, you became a hottie, too. I've got the Hot 8 yoga experience for the first time. It was one to remember. The location is good, with safe underground Parking. The clean space gives one the feel of a high-end day spa. We entered from the garage, and the door to the spa was a little tricky to find. Once we got in, the staff was smiling and welcoming. Our group was supplied with everything we needed for an excellent Hot 8 yoga experience; the cool, eucalyptus towels made a big difference for me After a few failed attempts at tree pose, I finally got my balance, and I could rise above the heat into a meditative state to help me complete this session. I can't lie for a moment; I thought about quitting as I became a hottie, too. I felt a little disoriented after I left the hot box room, as one feels after a full body massage. I'm glad I stayed until the end and was offered a face and bath towel to take a much-needed shower before I left. Overall, it was a 10 out of 10 experience; the ambiance was an East meets West cultural fusion experience. Hot 8 Yoga reminded me of a spa in a five-star hotel. It had all the amenities that One could ask for, and it had lockers with customizable combinations. I am thankful for the heat and steam and for what it took out of me because I had one of the best nights of sleep, and I felt like a hottie the next day. #hot8yoga @hot8yoga

Brand new with free 2 hour validated parking, although there is free street parking in the area as well. Love that they have showers to freshen up after a sweaty workout! Came for a Yelp Elite event for my first time doing hot yoga. I'm not new to yoga, but definitely hydrate because the class was challenging and the humidity put it over the top! I was sweating bullets within a handful of minutes and had to duck out during the last handful of minutes for fear of passing out. Love that they have ice cold eucalyptus infused face towels in the fridge to help recover. I may need to work my way up to doing hot 8 yoga again!

They do not believe in yoga being accessible to everyone. That's a core principle of Yoga. They also do not believe in refunds as shared by their SF rep, even if they are in the wrong and tell you they will refund you, like they did to me, they do tactics like future time stamped corporate contracts or suspension forms. New update: they sent the check to a name that doesn't exist after sharing the correct name and them acknowledging it. Def have to take to small claims. If i were to deposit check, I would be legally in trouble. Very unethical, beyond unethical. Update: now forced to use mediation since they never refunded my bank... They still have not refunded me even after admitting and then stating they would refund. Checked with my bank and they never did. Then they said after a month and a follow up with bank that they couldn't refund it.... A bunch of lies. This is not a family owned business but rather a predatory corporation that is continuing to extend their anti consumer practices. Check out their F status on BBB.

I love the cleanliness and sleek design of this studio. They had everything you can think of to make your workout better. Showers, cold towels, they had water for purchase and even had a blow dryer and lotion for after showers. There's a parking garage attached to the studio however parking is still hard to come by so I would say get there at least 15 mins before your class to get a spot. The staff were nice and made us feel welcomed and were so informative! Definitely a great experience and would bring my friends back for a good work out!

My instructor, Jimmy, delivered an amazing workout, he incorporated moves I've never seen before and actually walked around correcting form, which is rare in larger fitness classes. He was fun, energetic, and really set the tone. Playlist was baddie certified! LOVED him! I also appreciated how well maintained everything was, soaps fully stocked, cozy studio rooms, and an overall vibe that felt intentional and inviting. I think this might be my new go to location. Loved the openness of everything. The entrance and signing into the class was a bit messy and hectic, the entrance was under construction and the man at the front handing out the waivers and such seemed a bit overwhelmed. I highly recommend trying and combining each instructor and the various classes provided at yoga circle for a wholistic practice. The three very unique teachers that have distinguished styles are Knekoh, Jacqui, and Rob. I love all three and each teacher serves a precise purpose to my yoga practice. Knekoh for my mindful meditation, Jacqui for a concentration of the body, and Rob for spiritual awakening. The other instructors are also great and are generally a hybrid of these three. If you're up for the challenge, source Yoga Circle as your place to complete the 200 hour yoga teacher training. I was in the 2020 class with Knekoh and Rob. Is there really a sense of community in DTLA? Or is it just a frenzied mass of developers fighting for parking lots to turn into loft apartments, businesses fighting for customers, and people who recently moved to the area fighting for...goth ice cream? Until recently, my answer would have been no. No, I didn't believe that there was a sense of community in DTLA. Not like you'd experience in Brooklyn, or Portland or elsewhere. A yoga class I took yesterday at Yoga Circle has changed my mind. A friend and I went to YCD for a Sunday evening class. Steven was the teacher, and his calm demeanor was instantly welcoming. I got settled in and noticed something different: Steven was doing all of the moves he was instructing the 7-person class to do himself. Apparently this is how they approach things at Yoga Circle. And it really helped me understand the poses. I'm a visual learner and knowing that you can watch the teacher practicing makes it unnecessary to find someone to watch in the class. I found that I could go deeper into my own practice because of this. The room was pretty special too. I'm generally quite skeptical of any comparisons between DTLA and New York, but between the high ceilings, worn but wonderful floors and the fire escape view out of a high window, I really felt like I was in the bottom floor of a building in Crown Heights, with the city swirling outside. The class was anything but easy: 90 minutes, about 40% beyond my experience level and rather fast-paced, but I think I did pretty well. I'm sore today but I feel energized and I slept incredibly soundly. Steven, thank you for such a great class, and Yoga Circle Downtown, thank you for creating such a great space to practice. I'll be back. There is a sense of community at Yoga Circle -- and from what I've recently experienced, in DTLA -- that I'd love to be a part of again. Side note -- For people who think that they can't afford yoga classes, apparently Yoga Circle has a donation-based / sliding scale system.
