My ancestors would be so proud I have returned to sewing but they would also question why I waited so long. Wish I would have taken my opportunities to learn from my ancestors. I am always on the lookout for affordable fabric. Especially as I am learning this new hobby. One of my spring break goals was to find options for fabric. Found this glorious option. The staff is helpful. My questions were answered with patience and kindness. It was interesting to watch the interactions with the regulars. There are so many options for fabric. I need to have particular projects in mind for next trip to the shop. Without a project in mind it is easy to want to buy everything that is pretty. I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for and she helped me select some pretty fabric. They also have thread. I was wanting thread for embroidery and was not familiar with the thread she carried. I was at this store today trying to find fabrics to match a Christmas project I'm working on and…read morenotions for several other projects. No quilts, but things that still require thread and fabric. Their selection of thread is abysmal. Their notions section is tiny. And, their fabric choices are limited, to say the least. I was trying to find green fabric to use as a backing for a tree skirt. While there are MANY shades of green, I hoped to find MANY of them today to compare with what I already have. The three greens I found (yeah, just 3!) were not even close; in fact, they were nothing I would want to use on a Christmas project. As far as customer service goes, it was non-existent. Not a single person offered me help. The cute little puppy in the doorway (the one I almost tripped over when I walked in) got a LOT of attention, though. I guess the staff's priorities are just different than mine.
