I used Hot Pave about 4 years ago to do a portion of my driveway and again a week ago to finish the driveway. I'm so glad I tar/chipped my driveway- versus leaving it gravel. No question it looks better, functions better and is much easier to maintain. Honestly I could not be more pleased with the results. I'll include pictures from both jobs. The initial job was about 4 years ago & has remained perfect. However, I immediately kill any grass or weeds that grow in the sides. Both my encounters with Hot Pave (which was years apart): The owner, the owner's son and crew were professional, pleasant, honest, on time and did exactly what was planned. Their equipment was top notch and the price was very reasonable. The crew was so kind and talented. Both times they did some extra and went above and beyond to be polite, kind and helpful. Stay away from these people. They run that door-to-door. We have some leftover asphalt scam. Then they bring in a bunch of equipment and throw down some pea gravel and spray some tar on it. read more

They were doing a job down they road and stopped by to see if I would like to have my drive tar and chipped. The guy told me they were gonna fill in the holes in my drive, then put six or seven layers of tar and rock over top all of it. I made plans to work half a day so I could be there to see it go down and pay them. They showed up early and did it while I was away, when I got home it seemed to be okay, but after a few months it all came up and you could easily tell they didn't do what they promised. Cost me 2500 bucks to throw some pee gravel on my drive. Save your money, go somewhere else. read more

They came when I wasn't home was the first problem. Sneaky and see it's practice by some of the other 1 star reviews Spending over 20k I wanted to be there. Trusted Jr when he said they were done and had put 2 lifts. Contacted Jaime less than a month after with issues. Finally came out in spring to look he said it was a right job and just like my street under a ridiculous amount of stone. Jr said they would be back in spring to do a fog coat to lock it all in. Jaime says they don't do that and why did I pay him if the job wasn't done right. It's called trust that they did what they said as I wasn't there to witness it. The driveway is a complete mess had 3 other contractors out to look at it including their main competitor from Youngstown. All of them said it was a single lift from what they saw from the areas I cleared all the stone. So I paid to have it power broomed to remove the excess stone to reveal what was really under all that stone and what was left was a joke. 30-40% of the drive didn't even receive tar and my original 57 stone driveway was exposed. Huge areas where there are 6-12" varying strips you could see no tar was put down. There are areas only half of the driveway was tarred leaving my original stone driveway exposed. All they both want to tell you is how big their bank accounts are. Yes from screwing people. Just look at the pictures and see my original driveway they just covered with small stone and no tar. Areas where it must have dumped heavy tar to make huge ridges and you can clearly see many areas where no tar was sprayed. It's a complete joke of a company and estimates from all 3 other companies were over 11k to repair the crap he left behind. Worse service ever! Work is sloppy and very unprofessional. The owner and his son are rude and ignorant. They did not do as promised. Save you money call professionals not this fly by night operation. They were suppose to smooth out the pot holes but instead used lots of tar and gravel and did not even roll it. Gravel is just loose and totally uneven. They came out to repair but made it even worse! Just awful!!! Don't use! read more
