No question it looks better, functions better and is much easier to maintain. Honestly I could not be more pleased with the results. I'll include pictures from both jobs. The initial job was about 4 years ago & has remained perfect. However, I immediately kill any grass or weeds that grow in the sides. Both my encounters with Hot Pave (which was years apart): The owner, the owner's son and crew were professional, pleasant, honest, on time and did exactly what was planned. Their equipment was top notch and the price was very reasonable. The crew was so kind and talented. Both times they did some extra and went above and beyond to be polite, kind and helpful. Changing my driveway from gravel to tar and chipped was one of the best home improvement project I've done.

What should have been a straightforward home improvement project became a lengthy and stressful dispute. One important lesson from my experience is to be very careful about payment method. In my case, I paid cash and did not have the consumer protections that would have existed with a credit card if workmanship disputes later arose. After researching further, I was concerned to find other customer reviews describing similar issues involving drainage, grading, workmanship concerns, and difficulty obtaining follow-up service after payment was made. My advice to homeowners is to get every promise in writing, carefully document slope and drainage expectations before work begins, inspect the work after the first rainfall, and use payment methods that provide consumer protection.
