Meat and broccoli after they came out of the broth
    Lindsay K.

I came here for lunch not knowing what to expect. It's a neat concept for a restaurant, and I'd never been to a hot-pot type place before. I don't think it's really my jam, but I'm glad I came and glad I experienced it. If someone else wanted to come here, I'd gladly accompany. It was good, just not entirely my thing. I appreciate when something is all-you-can-eat, but that also is not usually my jam as I overeat because I feel like I should get my money's worth. Sometimes I also had to dig hard in the broth to find the items I'd put in there. We split the broth so that we had a spicy one and a non-spicy one, which was great. You essentially cook your food in this boiling pot of broth and can eat it as-is or combine it into a bowl with the noodles/meats/veggies etc that you've created. I'm generally not that patient to wait for everything and ate as I went, instead. There were some meats that they brought out for you, but otherwise the foods were self-serve in a refrigerator with a sauce station nearby. I LOVED that I could go back and grab a bunch of fresh broccoli and cook it in yummy sauce. I also grabbed some different kinds of noodles, dumplings, fish, etc. The quality of food was good, but I didn't love how thinly sliced some of the meats were. It almost looked like it was store deli meat (it isn't -- I just didn't love the cut). The staff was very kind and helpful, and they frequently came by to make sure we didn't need anything additional. This would be a really great way for a group to eat a meal together, so I'd still recommend you try it out and decide for yourself.

This place was delicious! We came early. I made a reservation on yelp, but we didn't need it early on a Sunday. It's an all you can eat restaurant. Most of the items are in refrigerators, but they bring the certain meats and appetizers out for you. We got 2 different broths (original & spicy), but I think the spicy is my favorite. I left feeling like I definitely over ate!

It's been years since I visited an AYCE hotpot (COVID + living in Wisconsin) and Hotpot 608 was largely a good experience on a frigid mid November night. The selection of items is pretty good and you pick up most of them from fridges in the middle of the the space (which, for a former IHOP, they did a good job of renovating). We got a variety of mushrooms, fish tofu, meatballs, and vegetables and all were solid. The sauce station has a good variety of oils, sauces, and toppings (garlic, green onion, etc.) The meats you mostly order with the waitstaff, and the "fatty beef" definitely is fatty, while the lamb and pork were above average quality. The price point is maybe a little on a higher end, although $35/person isn't horrible, given current inflation. Check it out!

As a disclaimer, I'm not a hot pot aficionado and only have a few other hot pot experiences to compare to Hot Pot 608, but I always enjoy my food at Hot Pot 608 and it's my favorite spot in Madison. The staff is very friendly, and the layout/process is very simple and straight forward. I love that it's all you can eat, and I think it's a great deal at ~$33 for a delicious meal (includes appetizers and desserts if desired!) My favorite meat is the lamb, and their sauces are all fun to make. Great variety of toppings too. I'm a loyal customer!

Place was absolutely slammed on a Saturday evening. They here definitely understaffed but doing the best they could. Nice setup as you can grab normal sides out of a fridge as self service, while the meat is upon order. The beef and pork were the best, the lamb was too thinly sliced and I think it led to some gaminess.

This was my first hotpot experience. I was looking forward to it as my brother had invited me and was going to show me all about it....He showed up late I got seated and was asked if I was ready to order, I said we were waiting for one more person. After about 10mins the waiter came again to see if we were ready, I said not yet but we would order drinks. He shook his head and walked away. ‍ after about 5 minutes of waiting for my brother, I finally called over the waiter and plainly asked "can you please explain how this works? I've never been here before" he kindly explained how we pick the meats and broth from the menu options. He pointed to the refrigerators that contain the rest of the ingredients that could be added such as veggies, noodles and seafood. The food was fairly good. I recommend straining out the spices they have in the broth. I made the mistake of eating a spice that was very aromatic and not appetizing my brother also took a bite of ginger that he thought was potato. The place was very quiet and not at all busy for a Saturday midday meal.

For me, this is the best Hotpot spot in Madison! The space feels welcoming and clean, the food is fresh, and so many options! I heard they have new weekday lunch price that I can't wait to try out. And the staff is always on top of it, love it!

The best hot pot on Madison! Hot Pot 608 is all you can eat. They have a good selection of ingredients (especially for seafood and veggies), and the sauce bar is top-notch! You can ask for appetizers off the menu (included in the price), but the hot pot is definitely the star of the show. If you're new to hot pot, ask the wait staff to bring you up to two proteins at a time and any appetizers you want, then go to the coolers and pick out whichever ingredients you want to add (veggies, seafood, meatballs, noodles, etc.), and then swing by the sauce bar and mix yourself up a nice dipping sauce. Then start adding things to your hot pot and when they're cooked, take them out with the tongs or ladle, dip in your sauce, and enjoy! They have their own parking lot, so parking is easy. There are a couple other hot pot options in Madison, but 608 is easily my favorite.

Happy people enjoying a unique dining experience!!

First time to a "pot" Korean BBQ. This is different than the "grill" based Korean BBQ places I've been to in the past. I like it! Good selection of meats and starters. The veggies and seafood are in a self service cooler. They bring a bowl of broth (we had 2) and you can select the type of broth you would like. We went with house and spicy. The house was better. Good presentation, attentive waiters and the food was fresh. Fun alternative to the burger, brat and cheese curd scene in Madison. We will be back and I will be bringing a bunch or Wisconsin Badger football players. Very good value!!!

This specific Hot Pot 608 location has become my new go to spot for AYCE shabu! You order hot appetizers, meat, and soup but everything else you can grab from the fridge. Not only do they provide quality meat, but the staff is extremely nice and they bring the food out very quickly! Definitely recommend getting a half/half broth w/ bone marrow and tomato base.

They have a good amount of broth options to choose from, ranging from no-spice to spicy. I like how we can split into two or three different broth so we have a variety to try. They have everything we would need in the next room, with utensils, plates, sauce, fruits, drinks. I like how we can just go grab it ourselves and not have to wait on a waiter for plates or utensils. The waiter was pretty attentive, clearing out the empty plates quickly so we can make more room. The food comes out pretty quick, with a little robot bringing everything to us. Overall, I would definitely go here again if I go back to Madison. The food was great, especially the bulgogi beef and cried pork.

I sat down with my friend expecting what Im used to - I tell her we have to get a tom yum soup base and a beef broth base. They hand us the menu and... yep, beef broth, but no tom yum! I made a remark about it being a bummer it wasnt there, and was about to order the mushroom instead. But this very kind waiter overheard and very excitedly told us he'd be able to do tom yum!! For that - 12 stars. It was delicious. The beef bone broth was also stellar, i even grabbed a few spoonfuls just to drink straight up! Service is split between a waiter and a robo-water, which was interesting. You order your broth, then you can order through the phone app all you want for the table. Dont worry, you can keep ordering as you eat! So dont order it all rightaway. Youll run outta table space, hehe! Theres a small sauce bar and fruit bar and a cooler with drinks. Theres was also mini ice cream but by god we were STUFFED at the end and didnt get a shot at trying them. We ordered lamb, crab sticks, bok choy, enoki, broccoli, more bok choy, some rice, crab sticks, kimchi, more bok choy... you get it. Not my best plunder (i swear im usually adventurous) but i wanted basic GREENS today for some reason. Long winded way to say - good job Fuki!! Im impressed!! Thank you for the tom yum and fun experience.

The food is mostly Sichuan, with some American Chinese staples as well. It's also a huge space, so you'll never have problem getting a table. They do a lot of takeout business as well. The server who took our order was very friendly. I was hesitating about whether to add more dishes, and he honestly told me that what we ordered should be enough. He was right--we couldn't even finish it! The restaurant space is quite large, and most of the customers seemed to be students from the nearby area. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the front desk staff had a pretty bad attitude. I called earlier to ask if the restaurant was open, and her responses were impatient, and she even hung up the phone abruptly. That really affected the overall experience. Overall, the food is good and the portions are great, but the customer service at the front desk needs improvement.

Pistachio one was my favorite. There were many Asian ice creams. Propitious mango was a good one. There were a lot of small food places in the food hall. I tried food from a lot of different places. The food hall had a lot of seats, and was neatly maintained. It was never crowded. Kawasaki is close to the entry of Global Market. So the first time I was there, I went straight to this place. I had a Chicken katsu rice bowl. It was one of the best food I had in the food hall. Display had some very delicious and cute cakes. Next time I should try some of that. Taiwan Street has nice pho and bubble tea. I went for a pistachio milk shake, without bubbles. It was good. But I think I should have really went for a pho. They have a lots of sweets in display. I went for a peach swiss roll and a sesame ball. Both were good. From Dumpling House, I went for a chicken and mushroom dumpling and chinese chive pie. Both were good . It came steaming hot. I think I should have gone for some of their more favorite items like chive and pork dumpling. From Nice Flavor Stir Fry , I went for a sauteed sliced lamb with cumin. Generally this is a really flavorful dish which you cannot go wrong with. But it wasn't as good as I expected. Flavors were off, and the quality fo meat was not as good as I expected. Stir fry chicken mei fun was my favorite item from Bowl Bowl Rice. It came hot and was flavorful. I also had a tea leaf flavor egg. It was just $1. But it came with egg shell. I had to peel it. Egg was slightly less flavorful than I expected. Mochi donut is the main item in Glazed. There were some food items as well, but I didn't find takers for that. I went for 3 donuts - Oreo, honey dew and churro. The flavors were all interesting. May be oreo was my favorite. Donut texture was more chewy. From S&B Hmong Kitchen, I went for a fried rice from this place. It was flavorful. Cilantro and scallion on top gave a nice flavor kick. From Poké Mì, I went for a drunken noodles as my entree. It was not as good as I expected. Flavors were off. May be I should have gone for bahn mi. I haven't seen sugar cane juice anywhere else in Madison. So went for one. I thought it was just ok.
