Went there for Valentine's Day as a group of 4. Had an 8pm reservation. When we checked in they said their reservations were running about 45 min behind. We checked in at the 45 min mark to see how much longer. They said they were now running about an hour and 15 min behind. Finally sat at 9:15. Service was extremely slow. Long periods of just sitting with no food on the table. Very long time to get bill at the end. Ended up getting bill at almost midnight. The advertised price was $99 a person for a party of two, or $75 a person for party of four. Bill came out billed as two tables of two so they could charge the $99 each with preset gratuity of $20 a person. Asked server to fix which needed a manger to adjust. That just removed the extra $100 overcharge however the gratuity remained the same so it was 28% automatic gratuity. read more

It's been a few years, but we returned to TMP for a fun dining experience for a friend and splurged quite a bit with extra side dishes, several drinks each, and an a la carte menu. We had a great experience, mostly due to a perfect customer experience from Isabel, our lovely server. We ordered the standard cheese and vegetable broths, but then got the charcuterie board and the wild mushroom ravioli. The board is good, I think it could have a bit more on it for the price. We also had the classic chocolate with the peanut butter and it was so so good. The waffles and pound cake were incredible. For drinks, we had the sugar cookie special for their St Jude's donation drink, it was delicious and holiday-fun. I also had a chocolate fontini and we had a mint mule, but the Yin Yang martini is hands down the best drink I've had with a desert or chocolate theme. It is amazing, definitely recommend. Our server, Isabel was really lovely and fun to talk to. The server can make or break your experience at TMP, so we loved getting Isabel that night. She decorated our celebratory dessert plates and made everything special for us. The vibe is a bit dressier, the cost is higher, but it is a fun thing to do once in a while! read more

We held a surprise celebratory dinner for a friend, with 18 guests with a variety of food accommodations (GF, seafood allergy, vegetarian, nut allergy) and these folks were terrific. They handled everything with good cheer and professionalism. It was three hours of awesome food and a lot of fun - a lovely evening for our friend. At the end, they were able to handle individual checks. All told, it was about $70 per person for a four-course meal with soft drinks/tea and tip. Highly recommend for parties (although one does need fairly long arms to reach the pots at the three-burner tables!). read more

The main meal and dessert were very tasty. The service was face value friendly and adequate at refilling beverages. The signature house salad was very basic. Mixed Greens seemed like bagged grocery store chop, thick Cheddar cheese, a couple Tomatoe chunks, Crouton chunks, I can't remember the Scallions, the Egg was unappealing as well. The plate was very thick and small like at a buffet. Nothing even remotely glamorous about the salad. Not fine dining flavors, appearances, or styling. The land and sea platter came with mushrooms, broccoli, Garlic Pepper Steak, Herb-Crusted Chicken Breast, Shrimp, and Atlantic Salmon. My favorite sauce was the curry. The raspberry dark chocolate option was delicious. Note: After the bundt cake was placed into the chocolate fondue there is not enough chocolate fondue for the pieces we consumed and all the pieces provided were not finished. Almost romantic, good for date night. I'd say the vibe I get is semi relaxing. I'm glad the seating is fairly private with the booths. I can't pin what is taking away from the experience. Whether it's color palate, the carpet, the angles or decor in dining area. Idk I recommend consulting a mixologist for more elevated drinks for the menu. However tonight I felt the portions were minuscule compared to my usual but for the same price it has been before, which is not cheap... Not to mention the service was a little slow. Came in for our 10 year anniversary. Went to Ruth Chris for dinner and came here for dessert. Love the chocolate and the dippers. When I booked the reservation, under the special requests, I asked for extra marshmallows for the special night because that is what we love. We received only the two that you usually get. I was a bit sad about that. My wife ordered the blackberry safe lemonade, but never received it. By the time we were done eating and waiting for the check, the lemonade came out, so I asked to have it removed from the check as we were done and getting ready to leave. It was still a good night, just a few hiccups unfortunately. The place is still nice and fun to go to. read more

I think the larger issue here is what you get for your money. A millennial takes your order, mixes some cheese, brings you salads, a bunch of meats you have to cook yourself- and it's rather expensive.... Usually finesse at cooking is what inflates a price. This also isn't organic or grass fed beef, it is just whatever. Half of it is not even SEASONED. The chocolate fondue at the end is decent but again this is not worth the overall price. I also was annoyed by hearing other music coming from the back of the house. Do they know we can hear it?? No wonder it was empty. Fondue style or not, only worth trying so you know what you're definitely not missing. read more

The husband and I love the Melting pot. My Best friend had never been and it was her birthday so decided to take her. It is always such a great experience. Our waiter was amazing even with a busy night. We always do the 4 course. We love how much food you get per course. I also love that I can mix and match the type of meat I want depending on what I'm on the mood for. The desert is always great. So many different sweets to dip. My favorites are the fruits. Waited 45 minutes past our reservation to be seated - that is unacceptable for a restaurant where you are spending $50+ per person. Also the food is overpriced for what is served. We had the most perfect experience here for our 7th anniversary. Kalyn our server went so far above and beyond to make our special day that much more special. It was the best restaurant experience we've ever had, the food was perfect as usual, Kalyn was super friendly and helpful with food recommendations.(Her tip of stuffing the mushrooms with the green goddess sauce was so good). The service was great and prompt! Our waiter was super nice and explained everything to us and gave good recommendations. My only personal thing is, I don't think the meat (main course) part is really all that, but that's just me! The dessert is the best part of all. Price wise, it's really just based on your choice of meat and whatever drinks and extras you pick. It's pretty expensive, but they have al le cart that you can pick off of, so maybe just some starters and then dessert would be a good choice! Our server said that we should have been told when the reservation was confirmed. We weren't. It is posted on their website, but it was not on the first page and was 1/2 way down the 'Events' page. When we got to our table there were rose petals all over the table and a single rose in a small vase (paid an extra $10 for that). Went here tonight with my love... the food was fantastic. We got the Wisconsin trio. It's 9.95 per person but that's only if you want a double serving. We split the single serving and it was more than enough! Drinks range from $8.95- $12.00 Beer $5.00 My waitress Ally was amazing, she made the experience even better. Let me preface by saying we went to this location on 2/14/2009 and haven't returned for good reason. I decided to write about it after seeing several people had issues with the waitstaff~ The waiter knew nothing of the special that I wanted to purchase. After I explained the whole buy a gift card get a gift card email notice that I received - he left our table, returned and said that was not a special. Paid for our ticket...and oopsie... the special notice was included on the jacket sleeve. I paid and left. Thinking to myself: this is why we should've went to the one of the locations in Chicagoland just not Madtown. I emailed or called and a manger did follow up. His resolution was not, let me refund your dinner price and please buy the gift card or we'll provide you with what you were looking for @ no charge. It was, "I'm sorry he wasn't aware of the advertisement." We hung up with nothing else to say. I should've went directly to a manager that day but I was trying not ruin a lovely Valentine's for the kid as she was excited not to have the kid's menu. in her words, "I feel like a teenager!" It's been over 2 years and I'll tell you - you are NOT missing anything. The seasoning for the food didn't permeate the meats so ultimately - we had seafood dipped in butter and we were eating (and enjoying) the hot butter more than the meal. Lovely decor. And I'm glad they offer different cost-effective nights but skip it and head over to Ginza (of Tokyo). End cost: 1 adult, 1child - $65. Water for me, Sprite for the kid. Got the trio deal and tipped.
