My awkward encounter at Hot Shots Coffee was definitely worth the coffee. I needed some change in my life, but not too much. I had already been to Dutch Bros Coffee and Starbucks. I wanted a new place, but I didn't want to try a place that didn't have a drive thru. Hot Shots Coffee ended up being that perfect place. It was a quaint little hut in the middle of a parking lot. I wanted to get as many photos as possible to document its quaintness. I didn't realize these photos were going to come at the expense of my embarrassment. Almost every time I tried to get a picture the person working would look at me. I decided to stop embarrassing myself and planned on taking pictures after I got the coffee. I assumed the person working would be focused on the other customers and wouldn't notice me taking pictures of the quaint hut, I was so wrong. After I got my coffee I drove to the other side of the hut and began taking pictures. Unfortunately, there was a window on the other side of the hut and the employee working stuck their head out and directly looked at me. I decided to give up on the perfect picture and settled for the ones I had. I was embarrassed, but the coffee made up for it. Hopefully my embarrassment will fade. I don't think I'm going to take this with me to my death bed. Even though I am making it more difficult for me to forget about this embarrassing experience by posting it on yelp. This review may never let me forget about this awkward encounter. Hopefully, by the time I'm on my death bed, this awkward encounter won't feel so awkward anymore. read more

This review is based on my experiences with Hot Shots coffee in Cottage Grove. What was once our beloved Gold Rush has become a place of consistent disappointment. Smoothies and frappes are among the worst hit by the recent management change. Your experience at Hot Shots Coffee can be replicated at any of the many other coffee shops in Cottage Grove--Espresso Barn, Badoobaz, Cool Beanz--by simply ordering a drink item and adding tap water. However, the Hot Shots baristas (previously Gold Rush employees) are wonderful and not at all a reflection of Hot Shots coffee. read more

I used to love coming to Hot Shots, but the last few times I have been through have left me a little disappointed, as well as offended after over hearing the owner make some distasteful remarks about an employee. The last few years they have had some really good baristas, but nowadays it always seems to be someone new, who is poorly trained, because I cant remember having a really good drink from there for quite some time. My last few drinks have been really watered down, or some what burnt tasting. Needless to say I think I would rather pay the extra dollar that this shop used to save me, on a better tasting coffee. read more
