This is my favorite Hot Topic! Kim is the absolute best sales person that I have ever met. I get so excited when I see her working because I know I'm going to get an awesomely genuine experience. She took the time to remember me and my name, so it makes me feel like I have someone I can trust and go to with questions. I'm the kind of shopper that likes to look at EVERY little thing and take my time shopping and some times I go over my budget and have to return things.. (my fiancé hates it! Lol) Nonetheless, Kim never makes me feel rushed or bad when I have to return something. I always come back for more and I will continue to come back. A store I ALWAYS visit when stopping by. One of my favorite stores as well! This shop sells such a diverse selection of music artists, shows, etc to cater to your fandom needs (from kpop, anime, bands, cartoons, etc). The products they sell are diverse as well (jewelry, clothes, bags, knick knacks, plushies, food, etc) they have it all!!! They always have some type of deals going on and there's always new merch added. The staff are very energetic and SUPER friendly! They'll talk to you (personally, it can be a bit overwhelming at times but I know they mean no harm) about deals and just hang around to make you feel comfortable and welcome! I do wish the store had more space. They have so much merchandise but little space so you'd have to weave through the narrow aisles and cling to the wall, especially when there's a lot of workers and employees. The line for check out is also a bit hectic, they added a tape on the ground to indicate the checkout line starts on the side of the cashier but people tend to line up in front of the cashier, blocking the entrance/exit for the store (this becomes quite a problem, especially when the store is filled with people). The deals are pretty sweet as well especially hot cash but the items are pretty pricey. TL;DR A whole variety of products & very kind employees BUT small store & more on the expensive side. I expect the employees at a place like Hot Topic to be awful, snarky creatures. I'm in my early 30's, so they must think I'm ancient. I also don't dress goth. So there's that strike against me too. These employees seem to be generally pretty nice. My daughter knocked over a whole pile of My Little Pony stuff and one of the staff girls came over and made sure to pick it up without making her feel bad. That was real nice. I have heard some strange store policy explanations...but I don't know if that's on the employee or the actual corporate policy. Anyway, as far as stores like this goes, there is no reason not to go in here. read more

The female sales associates are wonderful. They are upbeat, friendly. Always helpful. They can help me get whatever I need, no matter how tall the order. The male ones are nice, but overly flirtatious with the ladies. They approach you even if you try to look busy and don't need help finding anything, and try to almost get to know you. Also their store has gone so mainstream and verges on hipster. I know this has nothing to do with location, but the owners of the company should have stuck with what kinds of items they used to sell. Their prices are still great, but the only thing I will purchase from them anymore is body jewelry. read more

I absolutely love this Hot Topic. Every time I come to Vancouver to visit and shop around, this place never fails me. Every time I've come the employees have been super kind and super helpful. This time in particular, we got a super nice woman (whose name I cannot remember for the life of me so I'm sorry) that helped us checkout as well as helped us place an online order for the last item missing from my Harley Quinn Suicide Squad collection. The employees make me wish that this Hot Topic was back in Arizona, but alas, I guess I'll just have to settle for visiting every now and then. We shop here often, and the staff are all great. My only complaint is the layout of the store. The entry & exit are extremely narrow. It makes it extremely difficult for people with disabilities or those with baby strollers to maneuver in their store. Also the service counter is at an angle/position where the checkout line blocks people from entering & exiting the store. They recently put a taped arrow on the ground to wrap the line around...but no one really notices, and then everyone cuts in front of you to check out. That's pretty frustrating. If they changed the layout, I'd give it 5 stars. read more

The people this store hires really makes it. On top of a great selection (at admittedly high prices, but there are very often sales, plus the Hot Cash), the people they hire are just fantastic. You never know if they'll all be dressed like KISS when you go in, or gothic Disney princess characters. They all remember you! If I go in without my daughter, they always ask about her (my daughter's pretty awesome). They're helpful without being pushy. They're fun to talk to! The people they have there make every trip there a blast, whether or not I find what I'm looking for. I can be having a bad day, and a trip there, even without buying anything, has me leaving happy, and that's because of the people who work there. Every store should take lessons from how this Hot Topic location is run on how to do it right. read more

First of all, I'm not into the whole scene/gothic style they have so right when I stepped in, I wasn't feeling the vibe. Second, when I went to go purchase two shirts at the cashier I tried to use the "Hot Cash" and the cashier rudely responded with "You can't use those" without any explanation and he explained they were expired. I nodded my head and continued on but the cashier still gave me an attitude. Resulting in a negative experience. I don't suggest going there for any purchases. read more
