Found this gem on our way back from the farmers market.....such a cute little shop! I thought the store to the left was part of it but it was obvious the service between the two shops were night and day! The sweet couple and their baby pup that were in this shop were welcoming and helpful. Yes there were very few things that were priced slightly higher but I also saw lots of comparable and deals as well. Loved the stories that were shared on the building and how everything was displayed. My sis and I both snatched up these cute durable and roomy canvas bags, a tote and backpack! Thank you!!!

Cute shop from the outside. Unfortunately, hours are wrong on Yelp. They open at noon on Sunday, not 11:00.

Here's how it felt to me: - Luxurious Setting: The store is elegantly designed with carefully curated furniture pieces. Soft lighting highlights the fine details of beautifully crafted tables, plush sofas, and intricate decor. - Aesthetic Appeal: The ambiance is inviting and serene, with well-thought-out displays that make you imagine how the furniture would look in your home. - Indifferent Staff: Salespeople are present, but they seem preoccupied. They were quietly chatting among themselves, paying little attention to customers. The contrast of Beautiful vs. Unwelcoming was striking. The juxtaposition of the store's luxurious, inviting decor with the indifferent, almost cold demeanor of the staff creates an unsettling contrast. Weird vibe here. I left without making a purchase. I do want to point out that the City Home store on 1101 SE 3rd Ave. inPortland doesn't share this vibe. I'll just go there next time.

Unlike most stores these days, this one is customer driven, not profit driven. They sell stuff that will make your life better, not worse or just more expensive. That is rare in this day and age. My GF moved in, and we needed a dresser that would accomodate us both, maximize the available space, and look damn good. I don't believe in being cheap when it comes to things I use every day, that have the ability to frustrate me with sticky or undersized drawers. We spent several weeks looking in every hip-vintage and hip-modern furniture store in PDX. Much like every other recent retail experience I have had, what was available was what people could make the most money from; but it seemed no matter how much we were willing to spend, nothing was a good fit. So on a whim we dropped into Main Street Trader, very much an old-school Vancouver establishment, not expecting to find anything that fit our modern aesthetic. And there it was: the Whittier Wood Addison Chest. Unlike vintage stuff, it doesn't suck to use every day. Unlike most high-end modern stuff, it wasn't designed for aesthetics first, function second. What else can I say? It REALLY ties the whole damn room together.
