I have been taking classes at this studio for 6 years on and off. This place is special to me. Their classes and instructors have pushed me to limits I didn't think I had in me and the sweat and physical, mental, and spiritual benefits that I receive after each class make me feel amazing. I feel so gracious to have found this place by chance as I was moving out of the apartments that are in the same building as their Metuchen studio. The staff make everyone feel welcome and comfortable, giving modifications and options. They have different class types and workshops that suit all levels. While some people are yogis, I've met others that take their classes as supplemental cross training for like martial arts, running, sports, dance. Their hot power vinyasa classes are challenging yet attainable, and their slow flow classes are warm and also great for beginners, imo. They also have yin and restorative classes that are also warm to balance out the power/slow flow classes. I've not taken their boot camp class yet. To keep it fresh, they also offer different workshops throughout the year.
If it's ever too hot or you feel like you need to step out of the room, it's ok. It's your class to take what you need to honor what your body needs at that time. However, I would encourage people to stay in the room and do a child's pose on your mat and not step out of the hot room, as something I remember one of teachers in one of the classes that I took saying to us. You will feel so much better that you didn't 'tap out' and at least received the benefits of the hot room. Unless you have to use the rest room, stay in. I once felt dizzy for most of the class and just sat in hero's pose. You can do it.
I am a digital nomad now, but every October I make sure that I'm in Jersey for their 21 classes in 31 days yoga challenge during that month. I feel grateful to have found this place at the start of their Metuchen location's first challenge in 2018, and have been participating in it ever since, taking classes, and bringing my friends and family. I take classes in both of their locations in Metuchen and Cranford. I love everything about their yoga studios (instructors, instruction, yoga flows, positive studio vibe, business management, community, range/content of classes, music, cleanliness) so much! read more
